"If you do not have a full store, and are attempting to sell out of an empty wagon… not only will you have an upset customer, she might even call another consultant who has a full store and not only will you lose that sale, you will LOSE THAT CUSTOMER!"
Oh the drama trauma. That part of the inventory talk goes something like this:
Director: Mary Kay does not require you to carry an inventory, and I don’t require you to carry an inventory, but my job as your director is to give you my best business advice, wouldn’t you agree?

Each new month in Mary Kay represents another spin around on the hamster wheel. Imagine being a Mary Kay director, having to start from scratch each month.
Trying to build toward the minimum wholesale production of $4,000, and figure out what gap you'll have to fill using your own credit card. Or trying to hit another higher level so you don't owe a copay on that not-so-free car.
Each month you reinvent the wheel, seeing who you can guilt into another order. Who you can breathe some life into. Who might have "missed" her goal last month and wants to do better this month. Who is seeking attention and might order to get that attention from you.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? Well it's all part of nsd Pam Shaw's method of planning your month. Here's how she says to do it...
Mary Kay sure will change your life! Thousands of dollars of debt. No time for your family. Lying to new recruits to try to get them to sign up and buy inventory. Strain on your marriage from the cost of Mary Kay and the pressure to hide the truth from your husband.Unwilling to consider the negative reality of Mary Kay. But certainly NOT in the ways this director would have you believe...
We are sitting at lunch when my best friend casually mentions that she and her husband are having a hard time making ends meet financially. Even with both her and her husband working, she is going to have to get another job. We are considering many options, she says. Why would you recommend Mary Kay? "It changes your life," I say without hesitation.
But now I begin to really analyze my Mary Kay Career as I consider offering it to my best friend. I look at my friend, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn at New Consultant Training. I want her to know that embarking on a Mary Kay career means she'll be required to do much more than match a foundation shade or sell a tube of lipstick. I wish she could know the stories and triumphs of so many whose lives have been changed by their choice to try Mary Kay Cosmetics.

We here at Pink Truth are still human. We didn’t defog out of Mary Kay and suddenly become vicious negative sub-human life forms, contrary to the Pink spin about this website.
It’s no wonder that NSDs really don’t want consultants or potential recruits coming to this site and reading an opposing view from what they are being told at a guest event or from a recruiter. The information here opens up doubt. What happens when you read Pink Truth is suddenly your suspicions become confirmed. But let’s face it, you had the suspicions or you wouldn’t have been “looking.” You had a crack in your positive mental attitude bubble.
Supposedly there are “good” Directors still in Mary Kay doing everything right, and in no way guilty of the things we bring out. I would say a high percentage of Pink Truth Directors would call themselves “good” Directors. Good Directors care for their teams, and set a good example. They promote selling along with recruiting and attendance at all company events in order to constantly refurbish the “dream.” They teach about image and attitude and goal setting and 60/40 and full wagons and scripts that work.

A blast from the past, ladies. From October 23, 1965, here is how to disseminate debt and depression wherever you go.
DISSEMINATION DRILL
The Dissemination Drill has four exact steps that must be done with a person you are disseminating to. There is no set pattern, nor any set words you say to the person.
There are four steps that must be accomplished with the individual, and they are listed in the order that they should be done:
1. Contact the individual: This is plain and simple. It just means making a personal contact with someone, whether you approach them or they approach you.
2. Handle: If the person is wide open to Mary Kay and reaching, this step can be omitted as there is nothing to handle. Handle is to handle any questions, antagonism, challenge or disbelief that the individual might express towards you and/or Mary Kay.

I know you think ill of me and that I am nuts. Some of you even hate my guts. But, I still love each and every one of you despite this and although I am at the end of my Mary Kay journey, thank God, I’d like to share with you a final farewell. Of course none of you read Pink Truth so you won’t see this, but maybe it will help someone else. It is long but please hear me out.
Realizing that you all believe my feelings and actions to be that of a crazy person, please remember I am the same person that you followed for all those years. You former future NSD, the one you listened to, the one who mentored you, the one whom you went to for any and all issues and gave you advice that you followed.
It took me months and months and months to take the position that the Mary Kay business is fatally flawed. And most of all, regardless of what you now think of me personally, the main reasons I have taken this position is that most of you barely make production, many of you BUY your production, and ALL of you make very little income. That is an indisputable, numerical fact that has nothing to do with me, my thoughts and beliefs, or my actions.

I love these kinds of numbers. They're fun and exciting for Pink Truth. Seriously!
In Mary Kay's July 2006 letter to the FTC about how horrible it would be to make recruiters actually provide proof related to their income claims and other such heinous information-providing-activities... They stated that there were over 700,000 consultants in the United States.
Currently on the Mary Kay InTouch website for consultants, they say there are 650,000 U.S. consultants. Now I don't know when the number changed, but all I care about is that it's changed! There are at least 50,000 fewer consultants who will be lied to and victimized this year!

If you’ve been around Pink Truth for a while, you know the chances of making a real living in Mary Kay are slim to begin with. Even the 2% of current consultants who have supposedly reached the upper levels of success as sales directors…. Most of them aren’t making a real income.
If they’re lucky, they’re like almost all of the directors, they’re making $10,000 to $20,000 per year . That’s not bad if you’re comparing it to a minimum wage job. But in the real world, we don’t exactly call that making a living or having career earnings.
But let’s suppose you believe $20,000 a year is a good living. Can you really earn that while being “at home with your children”? Because Mary Kay recruiters will lead you to believe that you can. Well, not really “lead you to believe”… They’ll falsely tell you that you can!
Here’s the truth: If you want to make that whopping $20,000 or more doing Mary Kay, be prepared to work a minimum of 40 to 50 hours a week. And when I say work, I don’t mean schlepping around in your jammies and making a few phone calls.

I thought it would be fun to tell you about some of my favorite lies told in Mary Kay. Lies? Lies, you say? But you thought Mary Kay was a “Christian” company!
Wrong! It’s a company that exploits Christianity for monetary gain. By spouting things about Christianity, they get women off their guard. Their defenses are lowered, and they’re more likely to believe the lies they’re told.
So here are a few of my favorites..
- Just one bad apple in the bunch – Sorry, but if you look at Mary Kay recruiters in general, the vast majority of them tell lies to recruit. Many of the lies are lies of omission… They don’t tell the potential recruit how low their sales really are, the true quotas that are required to move up, and the fact that an estimated 99% of women actually lose money with Mary Kay.

I got this email over the weekend and was amused at the variety of creepy/dishonest tactics this Mary Kay recruiter used to try to lure someone into Mary Kay.
I sincerely want to thank Pink Truth from the bottom of my heart for the information posted on this website! I am a Pink Truth success story. My eyes were opened before any monetary or emotional damage was inflicted on me and my family. Based on the heart wrenching stories I read, I am convinced that you have saved me a ton of embarrassment and financial ruin!! I cannot thank you enough!
So here's my story. I apologize in advance if it is long winded, I am just so "excited with this opportunity to share my success story"...ha, ha pun intended :)
About 3 weeks ago, I put my business card into a fish bowl at my nail salon to win a "spa package". I never win anything so I was pleasantly surprised when I received a voicemail notifying me that I was the lucky winner of the month.
