If You’re Wondering How Much Those Star Prizes Cost

The Scribbler has done a number of research projects for Pink Truth, helping us to determine the real cost of those Star Consultant prizes.  National sales directors can order them directly from the company. Here are the prices for the prizes at the various levels. You know Mary Kay doesn’t lose a dime on anything, so they are surely marking these up for the nsd’s. So the real cost of the prizes is something less than these…

$1800 wholesale level = $25 prize cost
$2400 wholesale level = $40 prize cost
$3000 wholesale level = $50 prize cost
$3600 wholesale level = $70 prize cost
$4800 wholesale level = $100 prize cost
$6000 wholesale level = $150 prize cost
$7800 wholesale level = $250 prize cost
$9600 wholesale level = $350 prize cost

And I already know the Kaybot explanation of these… the prizes are just “extra” above and beyond the profit one should make from selling the products. But let’s be realistic, most sales directors encourage ordering to “finish your star” whether you’ve sold the products or not. Instead of going for one of these prizes and placing extra orders, the consultants should just go buy themselves the prizes.

  1. They can be found at Sam Moon for about $3. Glittery pins in the form of lispticks, stars, hearts, I DO SPA, etc. At the location in Frisco, TX, they are on the endcap. Hope this helps.

    • Their make-up organizer, listed at $5.99, looks a lot like MK’s roll up bag that I paid $15 wholesale for.

  2. yea i totally am not putting inventory in for a lousy gift…they always are like pick the gift and post it everywhere…sorry just not that into stuff i can get cheaper…somewhere else…like the spa party…ooo to attend you have to be star..ok for what..someone to do my feet..maybe is a thirty dollar gift..i can hardly sell my inventory as it is..no problem put more in so you can become a director…nope didnt do it…i booked myself a real spa day!
