Perks of Being a Mary Kay Million Dollar Director

Isn’t it your lifelong dream to be a “million dollar director” in Mary Kay? This past seminar year, 16 women hit the million dollar ordering mark. Out of about 650,000 women in the U.S. who were involved in Mary Kay.  (You’ve got better odds by heading to Las Vegas with your money and putting it all on the tables.)

How about those odds? I don’t think the overused “see you at the top” is really all that true. In Mary Kay, you have virtually no chance of reaching the top. (And it will cost you a lot of money along the way before you figure this out.)

Here are the 16 women who reached this coveted “million dollar director” status. If you look at how long they’ve been directors, you can see that the average is almost 10 years.  I really have to ask if they are ready to promote themselves? Because that’s a long time and you’d think they would want to be national sales directors by now. And in Mary Kay you promote yourself when you’re ready!

At least they have these fantastic perks of being a million dollar director:

As a Million Dollar Sales Director you put the heart, the time and the extra oomph it takes to build others to success. And in return, you’re richly rewarded with relationships that last a lifetime. And if that wasn’t enough, as a Million-Dollar Sales Director, you also enjoy rewards worthy of royalty. In addition to your prize options at the Half-Million-Dollar Circle of Achievement and the Prestige and Top Sales Director Trip, you earn:

  • A $5,000 bonus.
  • Reserved seating for you and your unit members with special seat covers at Seminar.
  • Luxury limousine ride on Seminar Awards Night.
  • Million-dollar bar pin (if achieved personal best)
  • Million-dollar unit banner
  • Exciting onstage recognition at Seminar with your unit
  •  A suite on the Top Sales Director Trip
  •  Million-Dollar Weekend experience
  •  Name displayed at The Mary Kay Building.

Plus, you get extra rewards for your extra effort. As a $1.5 Million-Dollar Sales Director, you receive Business Class travel to the Top Sales Director Trip. And as a $2 Million-Dollar Sales Director, you receive a $10,000 bonus and First Class travel to the Top Sales Director Trip.

Doesn’t that all sound fantastic? I can’t imagine the amount of credit card debt that women in these units are left with. Million dollar director means $500,000 of wholesale ordering … that’s an awful lot of credit card debt and product collecting dust in basements. (How do I know most of it is unsold? We at Pink Truth have “been there, done that” and we know that most of our sister consultants never were able to sell what they ordered.)
