Prosperity affirmations in Mary Kay

This email is making the rounds in Mary Kay:

Last night, I was talking with the awesome XXX XXXXXXX about the changes in her job and her plans to replace that money with her Mary Kay income. Some of the things we discussed were saying affirmations, deserve level and prosperity. I did a little research and found these PROSPERITY AFFIRMATIONS. I think they are terrific and will give you an idea of ones you can create.

Go to the site and pick out the ones that speak to you and then write them down and say them out loud every day. Scripture tells us that the words of your mouth have the power of life and death in them. WOW!! That is strong stuff!! If you have that kind of power in what you speak, why wouldn’t you speak LIFE and ABUNDANCE rather than the total opposite.

Sometimes we don’t think about the little things we say…

  • I’m so fat!
  • I just don’t feel good.
  • Things never work out for me.
  • I’m just not good at (fill in the blank)….ie- booking, selling, recruiting..

If you believe what the Bible says and it says that YOU have the POWER of life and death in what you say, wouldn’t you agree that we all need to be aware of our words??

One of the greatest lessons I learned early in my career was when I had the opportunity to be with my National Sales Director, Cheryl Warfield. We were at a hotel and had eaten breakfast. As we were leaving the restaurant, a little girl, about 5 years old was coming through the door as we were going out. She looked up at us and Cheryl kneeled down and said, “You are so beautiful!” The little girl just beamed and skipped off.

As we were walking out, Cheryl told me that we needed to affirm our little girls and build them up. That small event was so powerful for me! I saw the little girl just glow after Cheryl said that to her. Those 3 little words made her feel beautiful and taught me that we need to use every opportunity to do that for others.

While many of you would NEVER look at another woman and say to her face, “You are so fat!”, you’ll say it to yourself. You’d never say to another consultant, “You’re just not good at booking,” you’ll say it to yourself. Look what you have programmed into your brain.

I’ve gotten out of the habit of walking and exercising but am starting again. I’m now telling myself that I LOVE TO EXERCISE….  I’M SO GOOD AT IT!! It works!! Takes some time, but soon, my brain believes that rather than the opposite!

Now, I’m telling myself these Prosperity Affirmations! I KNOW what the scripture says and I KNOW that every bit of it is the truth, so if I KNOW that, I have to BELIEVE that and WALK in that. Just as you do not want your own children to live in lack and without, neither does our Heavenly Father want his children (us) to live in lack and without…. but so many of us do because we don’t believe we deserve any more.

Would you give it a try? Would you choose some of these or some of the others on my site or even create your own and say them out loud every day.

Mary Kay told us that WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT, YOU BRING ABOUT!! Let’s all think abundance because when that happens, we can share it with our families and be blessing to others.

Prosperity affirmations make me sick to my stomach.  To me, they are presumptuous beyond words, our telling the Almighty God what he should be giving us – grrrrrr.  How convenient that the higher ups in MK are so biblical, but ignore passages such as:

Philippians 4:12
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

James 2:5
Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

Or even Matthew 19:21
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”  (In other words, forget all those Cadillacs, diamond bar pins, $400 suits and such!)
