Who would have thought that a Mary Kay director would brag that other directors “deserve” to earn $15,000 a year?

I mean, after all, if you’re working full time for $15,000 a year, that’s about $7.50 an hour. Doesn’t that sound grand? Boy. I can’t wait to be a Mary Kay sales director!!! But the below email suggests exactly that… directors deserve to earn $15,000 a year.

And the truth comes out! This director admits that if you’re getting monthly production of the minimum $4,000, you’re only making about $600 a month as a director. Can you get excited about that? Someone in Mary Kay is finally willing to tell the truth about this loser of an opportunity. (The email also mentions the real deal in Mary Kay… recruiting!)

A FEW THOUGHTS ON HOW TO AVOID MISSING PRODUCTION!!!

REMEMBER THE COMPANY IS SERIOUS ABOUT NOT MISSING $4000 TWO MONTHS IN A ROW…YOU DO AND YOU ARE DONE.  BUT THINK ABOUT IT…YOU DESERVE A PAYCHECK NO LESS THAN $1300 WITH A MIN $5000.  YOU ONLY MAKE ABOUT $600 IF YOU HAVE JUST $4000.

When you get to the end of the month and you aren’t where you want to be…
DON’T CALL CONSULTANTS…CALL RECRUIT PROSPECTS!!!!

There are a few scenarios that you do call Consultants…
-if they are new and haven’t placed their first order!!
-if they are inactive and they have a team ordering
-if they have 5 on their team ordering $200+, she needs $600 personal to get 13%
-its their last month before termination…12th month
-its their last month before going to Former list and they have recruits

Besides those situations, if you call Consultants to order then you start undermine your Leadership ability to motivate and train her.  She will start believe that you only call when YOU need her to order.  Then you will start to lose the base Consultants you have AND you aren’t growing your unit.  End of Directorship…and understandable because you aren’t doing the job intended.  Our job is to recruit!!, sell and train…in that order.

If you are low on production…RECRUIT RECRUIT RECRUIT!!

* Hold a Ponder Pink Tea Party on Saturday for your unit and YOU to bring guests.
* How many guests do you have for your Training this week?  Get more!
* Look through your customer list…who was border line about joining…offer her an incentive like a Microdermabrasion Set or Satin Hands to start demoing to join today.
* Send a mass email to your customers with a heartfelt letter of how they could make some great money for the holidays.

YOU CAN DO IT…YOU DID IT BEFORE IN DIQ.  ONCE THE DECISION IS MADE AND IT’S NON-NEGOTIABLE….YOU CAN EARN YOUR CADILLAC IN 3 MONTHS…YES 3 MONTHS!!  MARY KAY WANTED ALL DIRECTORS TO BE IN CADILLACS…YOU DESERVE IT!!  YOUR UNIT DESERVES TO HAVE THE BEST LEADER TOO!!!

    Our benchmark was always a unit size of 100, yet that, in these theoretical terms, would be $65K/year BEFORE expenses are subtracted. We were preached to and lectured and HUMILIATED if we weren’t to 100. Remember “On the Grow”? I can vouch personally that the money still isn’t “executive pay” at 100. An ever-turning hamster wheel to nowhere!

    Recruit, recruit, recruit.

    To what?
    What are you recruiting all these women into? A pink sorority where they play businesswomen with pin money and social appointments? Where they defeat themselves with inventory debt? Where a social hierarchy is exaggerated by colored blouses, red blazers, and head table seating?

    It is madness. Cult madness. And it is a tragedy that women get sucked in and then made to believe they didn’t have what it takes, as pink predators move up the career path, recruiting, recruiting and more recruiting replacing the wash outs.

    To make money in Mary Kay you have to USE people. And this article makes it abundantly clear.

    I don’t consider having to convince someone to join MK in anyone’s interest if the SD is only making at best, $600 – $1300 per month. Yikes. That’s only $15,600 per year. I realize there are things on top of that, but still…not much for all that hard work to recruit.

    When you get to the end of the month and you aren’t where you want to be… DON’T CALL CONSULTANTS…CALL RECRUIT PROSPECTS!!!!

    They are admitting that sales by existing consultants on a team are not enough to maintain a unit. Recruiting MORE competition for your team is necessary, because you can milk them of the initial order. And next month you have to do the same thing … constantly increasing the pool of comp[etition by recruiting customers.

    And they wonder why it gets harder and harder.

    This is how I see you start from the bottom you built your custumers Solid custumers giving them good custumers service you want to help people care to help them care foe them selfs no I don’t like the idea of pilling product if your not going to get it out this is what I do I set app when rhe client is able to show them the facial care they will order from you that makes more sense now I order what I will actually get out 🙋🏻
