Mary Kay is Not a Lie

Peggy is a pastor’s wife and a die-hard Mary Kay lady. She is apparently unaware of the 99% of people who lose money in MLM. There is so much good in MK!!!!

I wish people would learn how to deal with negative things and people that wouldn’t put everyone in same category. No one escapes having such in their life. From our own families, companies, schools, government, workplace, there has always been and always will be those who taint it with their behavior or language.

Do we disown family (though some do), quit our jobs because the manager or boss has questionable work ethics? I dare say no.

MK, like any big company has its weeds. I’ve met some, they do all they can to advance themselves, and sadly at the cost of others.

Mary Kay herself would be heartbroken. It’s not how she meant it to be but they’re here.

I continue doing this in complete honesty to all I speak with, never inflating the reality of what it takes to build it and grow a team. The mature and responsible way for us to handle such situations is not to blame the company itself. MK has guidelines and reality is not all follow the rules.

I have nothing but great experiences in MK. It’s not a lie, this company offers an opportunity to be so successful many others don’t. All things done ethically and truthfully in life bring great results. ALWAYS. Can’t throw out the baby with the bath water. Too many roses among the few weeds.

And yet, MK knows the rules aren’t followed and they a blind eye to it.

Come on, who is selling that star order, NOBODY. Yet, they keep fulfilling those orders without any question.

The whole thing is dirty, open your eyes.

She is a pastor’s wife. Surely she understands the concept that some things are inherently evil by their nature.

The Devil himself may wind up doing some good, but whatever good he does is tainted because it is for evil purposes.

What I don’t understand, and what she doesn’t explain, is why she assumes Mary Kay Corporate is inherently good, or inherently neutral. It’s easy to see that this company profits handsomely from lies and abuse of its sales force. Instead of taking action to stop the lies and abuse, MK Corporate facilitates and encourages it.

Peggy, if you had a cancerous tumor in your body, does that mean it won’t affect the rest of your body if you do nothing about it? No, hun, that sucker is gonna grow and metastasize and the whole body is going to suffer. Since MK Corp refused for decades to cut the cancers out (i.e. the bad directors, ibc’s, etc.) the whole body is now tainted. And you are tainted with it.

I like your analogy, but I am going to disagree. The body has flawed DNA that feeds on the cancerous tumors. The bigger the tumor and the more it multiplies, the more scrumptious for the body. That’s how it survives.

The flaw is the MLM method, and that’s what MKC uses. It is not the directors per se, as they are merely the most successful at executing the fraudulent method put forth by MKC.

If MKC wants to be ethical, they need to stop using MLM……period. They won’t because that’s what they are – an MLM company.

Unlike MK, if my boss is unethical, I most certainly can change bosses with a new job. You can’t transfer to a different unit or Area! You’re stuck with them for life, and I’m not anymore.

The pressure to recruit and not sell goes all the way up to NSDs. It’s not my fault you’re so stuck in a fog that you can’t see that.

“The pressure to recruit and not sell goes all the way up to NSDs.”

The pressure to recruit and not sell comes from MKC as they chose the scam of MLMing to make their money.

MLM is a clever and sinister way for a company to collect big spending customers willing to overpay for product by simply dubbing them “business owners”. Not only do the consultomers buy, they provide free advertising and find new consultomers for MKC. They do this for either less than minimum wage or free of charge, all the while giving MKC lots of money for the crap they buy.

Yes, a few abettors receive a larger cut of the loot for doing Mary Kay’s dirty “work” by recruiting extremely large amounts of people into the MK MLM scam. It’s only fair.

Quitting when the boss has no ethics and expects me to be the same … yes. Cutting off the bigoted and dishonest cousin or uncle? Well, you are who you hang out with. “Do we disown family (though some do), quit our jobs because the manager or boss has questionable work ethics? I dare say no.”

“Mary Kay herself would be heartbroken. It’s not how she meant it to be but they’re here.” This IS how she designed it … in her own books she explains that she told a timid new IBC to lie about being in a contest to book parties. She was the one who designed the levels to encourage envy and the desire to move up in the ranks.

“this company offers an opportunity to be so successful”

Peggy, are you really a pastor’s wife? Is this the kind of “success” you’re pursuing? And please don’t use the “this is a ministry” spiel. My church and congregation would be highly displeased if the pastor’s wife was involved with MLMs.

You may have some sales here and there, but it’s only because people feel obligated to buy from you. Don’t you have more important things to focus on?

It’s OK, Peggy, we understand. You’re having doubts, otherwise you wouldn’t even be here. You’re angry at yourself for having doubts, so you’ve lashed out at this brood of negativism. Look in your heart, Peggy, you know the things said here are true. You try to deny it, but your own writing shows how conflicted you are.

    First you say this:

“MK, like any big company has its weeds. I’ve met some, they do all they can to advance themselves, and sadly at the cost of others.”

    But then you say this:

“I have nothing but great experiences in MK.”

Which is it? Surely meeting the “weeds” in MK and seeing the damage they do was not a great experience. Maybe they didn’t impact you directly, but doesn’t it bother you just a little that those weeds, those selfish people in MK who break the rules and hurt others, are not being dealt with by MK Corporate? Of course it does. Otherwise you wouldn’t be here.

Come back and read some more, Peggy. Read the stories of heartache and financial ruin. Read of marriages torn apart by Mary Kay. Read the numbers that show how pathetic the “opportunity to be successful” really is. It will hurt; the truth often does. But that nagging doubt that brought you here is your conscience, the one God gave you. Listen carefully.

Wow. Lie about training being free. Advertise free facials when the reality is you’re not a qualified aesthetician. Warm stalk women in stores (even though that’s technically not allowed), follow MK’s urging to deceive our husbands (Boil an onion pretending suppers on the way), husbands unaware plan, the lack of real glamor training, bragging about the pink cars and the constant changing of products at the expense of women everywhere. No MK does not truly care about women. Taking grocery money from underprivileged women. Setting up a scam that puts women into debt definitely isn’t Christian.
