Stop Giving Pink Truth Hits

From a Mary Kay sales director to other sales directors:

Hey Ladies,

I’m not sure if everyone realizes this, but every single time we go to a negative MK site “just to see” what is going on there we increase their hits which causes their sites to come up higher on search engines.

What does that mean to us. It’s simple. Anyone who is thinking about becoming a consultant could have her dream taken from her if she decides to go online to do some research herself and happens to land on one of these sites. Now we all know that our success is this company is up to us and that we are bound by God & the company to do it the right way. We also know that there are those that haven’t done it right and we need to pray for those they hurt and for them to.

Not only can it affect your team building, it also affects your attitude about your own business. It’s hard to build an impenetrable wall around yourself of positivity. It’s even harder to keep it. Everytime we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream. Do you really want that for yourself or anyone else for that matter. You have to reach up to go up. Don’t take a chance even once reaching down. You cannot afford it. You become like the 5 people you hang around the most. Has one of these sites become one of your people? (Yes, unfortunately we now live in a society that internet sites see more of us than most people.)

These sites will only go away if they don’t get any hits. They relish in the fact that people go to see just out of curiosity. It always does more harm than good.

I really hurt for all those that have been misled &/or mistreated. I just know that my mission is to never make the same mistakes so as to never harm anyone in my unit.

I am also thankful for the fact that this has happened to only a very small percentage of women who have chosen the Mary Kay journey. There are more of us that are good & Godly women who really do strive to enrich women’s lives and live by the Golden Rule and Go-Give philosophy!

We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own. So, let’s not allow theses negative sites anymore ammunition and ban ourselves from those sites. As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit. One way to do that is to stay off these sites.

You know for the first 11 years in my business, I never knew anything about these sites. The one thing I regret is going to see for myself one day. Reading that site totally ruined my day and now looking back, I now realize it ruined more than just that one day for me. I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder. Yes, it was my own choice to take a look, but I’ll never do it again. It cost me too much emotionally. I’ll stick to positive MK videos and listening to Top Sales Directors and Nationals on how to do this business the right way. I will not be taken down any longer.

Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!

Note to Mary Kay director: Pink Truth isn’t going away.

Too bad she doesn’t “just to see” the Applause numbers showing how few Directors make the money they all tout they do. Or, how improbable it is she’ll ever be an NSD or even a Top Trip Director.

Thousands of people have come and gone, yet only a few hundred have ever made it to NSD. Go ahead, lady, keep yourself in denial!

Not only that, but how did that small percentage make it to NSD? By being the best liars and scammers. They were able to convince the most amount of people to part with their money under the guise of an “business opportunity”, so they themselves would profit.

Teaching people to teach people to avoid fact finding missions is all part of the con as detailed in the article. I quote,

“Every time we allow ourselves to read this stuff, it absolutely affects our attitude or belief, and many will start to self-doubt and that starts a downhill spiral of emotions that could kill your dream.”

Well, I believe I can run through the middle of a busy interstate blindfolded and not get smushed. To not kill my dream, I’ve avoided all statistics on vehicular homicide, pedestrian fatalities, and all traffic pattern report websites. I am a positive person – and an idiot.

“I still catch myself doubting my skill, ability, belief, etc. and am having to fight those negative thoughts even harder.”

Here lies another casualty of The Law of Attraction. Unable to look at the other side of things for fear they could induce (gasp!) doubt, she pokes her fingers in her ears and sings loudly. She encourages others to do the same. She probably really believes having a warped world view is to her benefit and to the benefit of her downline.

The pitfalls of Law-of-Attraction thinking were covered very well right here on this site:

I have nothing against trying to keep a positive attitude, but thinking you must erect an impenetrable wall of positivity around yourself–that’s brainwashing.

A website that can deter your business, well that is an affirmation to all at PT and to Tracy.

You should be worried about how many hits you get on your MK business, oh that’s right you are and that is why you elevate PT. She will be back after she counts her creams, and it is obvious this sure makes her nervous. That translates (to me) that she is speaking with others about how this site is hurting their recruiting stats. Wake up, corporate wants their money and PT has the ability to affect incoming dollars. Way to go PT contributors!

I should be more tech savvy, but is that true? More clicks = higher on google? I assumed it had more to do with content, certain tagged terms, etc. I guess some places pay to be higher up (looking at you Scientology stalkers- who we also have to thank for the DMCA and finding loopholes).

Is there a way to get a full wiki article on MK specific critiques? I guess not really since those are on their general page and there’s probably an anti-MLM page already. Some of these curious women might feel safer by going on wiki first before going to this site.

I think in the coming decade we’ll see new trash MLM’s come and go (insta sponsorships make me want to scream), but MK in particular will slowly close in on itself. Younger people are so much wiser to all of it now. I’ve seen great segments on Samantha Bee and Trevor Noah after the LulaRoe debacle seemed to snap a lot of logic into the situation, and we do tend to google things before investing in nearly anything. There’s a whole r/antiMLM that pops up in searches too.

Speaking of tv appearances, does anyone remember the Conan segment from, like, 2012 where he went to the Mary Kay HQ? They must have paid him a lot. What struck me was that the entire atrium was chanting “MARY KAY! MARY KAY!” rather than Conan’s name. I knew nothing about the company at the time, and I still found that entire segment bizarre. He did succeed in making the makeup look wildly stupid.

There are probably very few people who ‘dream’ of being a Mary Kay consultant. There are people who dream about extra money, staying home with their kids, wanting to meet new friends, all which MK capitalizes on to recruit new members. Yet there is the 99% people who lose money in MLMs, the time commitment to lose that money, and the ‘friends’ who disappear when the person decides to quite. Why is she so afraid of this site? Could it be that it is true? Maybe she is just upset that new potential victims are looking at this site and making a decision not to join? She just wants to listen to MK propaganda, even if it is lies and tune out anything that could pop that pink bubble.

This is precisely the kind o thing people need to see, as the thing about indoctrination is it is gradual, and the more obviously manipulative things are not usually displayed to those not in deep. When they do slip out, general public finds them either disturbing or ridiculous and stay away.

  7. MLM Radar

The only reason MK requires a “wall of positivity” is because consultants can’t build a “wall of profits” to keep out the bad karma.

If Mary Kay consultants could get real and consistent profits from selling the products they wouldn’t need to build a fantasy wall.

“As Directors, we have an obligation to ourselves, our company, and our unit to protect ourselves, our company, and our unit.”

A really great way to do so would be to take any claims by directors of specific earnings that this Pink Truth site has unveiled and counter such claims with refutable evidence. Seriously, Pink Truth is consistently (and you can do a search of the site for this) uncovering blatant lies made by MANY directors and above in relation to their earnings…you’d think that, if such earning claims were accurate, that the “directors” you mention would be quick to provide evidence that the earnings claims are indeed legitimate. And yet, we wait here on pins and needles for any such response. So put your money where your mouth is, and rally your troops to provide ACTUAL EVIDENCE to protect your units…ie evidence that the earnings claims made are legitimate.

    We’ll be waiting…

“We all know that every decision we make should be in her best interest, not our own.”

Lady, are you serious? Really? She is dead. DEAD. She is not a deity.

I’m really hoping I read that wrong, and this wasn’t said about Mary Kay Ash. But if it was…

Oh my, the Kool Aid goes farther than we even can comprehend. And that’s saying a lot.

I’m out of words for this.
