Frontloading

A tactic utilized by multi-level marketing companies and pyramid schemes, in which new distributors, associates, or salespersons are required or encouraged to purchase inventory in an amount, which exceeds that which the salesperson can expect to resell for ultimate consumption or to consume in a reasonable time period, or both.

Also called inventory loading.
