What is an independent senior sales director?

• dupedbypinkfriend

An ISSD is a sales director who has a consultant under her who becomes a sales director.

• alisonjones

heres what career ladder means. Its when a bunch of winners are actually running after something and you loosers try to spend your life making up excuses why it doesnt work and the winners are actually loosing. WOW wah wah. For the winners its too late to suck them into your pathetic lives!!!

• freshoutofpink

Hey Alisonjones,
Learn how to write and spell, then maybe you can come back and get your ridiculous point across. In the mean time, get lost!

• vintagegold

Wow, she must be one of those really good Christian Directors.

• onelessSD

Now Freshie - you were typing too fast  - I don't think Alison can quite comprehend that, let me give it a try! ;)

Alison dear, let's try that deep breath I left in my last post to you under the $30,000 raise post. Give it a try, it will help, I promise.

Alison darling, there are many women who chose to race up the ladder - some ethically, some not. I've been in MK long enough to know both kinds of women. Are there some ethical women in MK, sure, are they high up the ladder - no way. The only way to get there and stay there is to climb over the many bodies of other women that you've managed to mangle in the process of your self-serving climb.

okay Alison, my little pin-head, that's all I think you can comprehend at this stage - please continue - I've got much more in the vault for you, if you're interested.

Oh Alison, and Freshie was right - maybe if you brushed up on your spelling & writing skills, you might be taken more seriously.
Have a blessed day!
-your teacher, OnelessSD!

• CSI:MaryKay

Hey Alison (if that is truly your name) If you're such a winner why don't you tell us about your Caddie unit and all your offspring... what's that? Oh, you don't have any? How dare you come to this sight calling names. If you were REALLY on the high horse in MK you would know you're supposed to brag about it and convince us LOSERS to beg to come back to the Fog

• freshoutofpink

Where are you alison? Are you too scared to come back and face what you wanted to start?

• pinksedition

Wow, she typed "Looser!" That's awesome. I will be laughing the rest of the day. She probably flashes the loser sign with her right hand instead of her left. :woohoo:

• pinkpeace

Yes, I actually did "loose" myself from MK:

• The Scribbler

"Looser..." :D

Alison, really, just listen for a sec. If you want to discuss something, it would be helpful to all if you'd just take a breath, relax, and then coherently state your points, your reasons for believing such, and any relevant facts. Your emotional hit-and-runs simply aren't helpful and will get nowhere fast.

Pick one point and focus on that. Please try. Alison, there's a reason you made it here and surely there has to be something that you read that's hitting you a bit too close to home.

Every time an MK ashhole comes on here they only prove our point! They claim to be the most professional of the MLM biz quacks, claim to be the most christian "Like" and claim to be pillars of society :0 yet they spew venom at the drop of a hat, cannot spell or use proper grammar. Oh, don't forget using others to get to the top.

Hey, we're Christians, too, cupcake. What separates us from you is that, we did all of the same things that you are doing right now and when we realized that we were hurting people, we left and/or stopped. We realized it, confessed to it and apologized for it.

Don't forget ladies...it is close to months end so she's probably very crabby right now! :pinch: :s :D

• chopportunity

Yawn! Wow, can't believe I slept through that storm.

Good job ladies! Congrats to Fresh and her crew for holding down the fort. Drivebys seem to always happen at night. What a coward.

Punchie, amen to what you posted.

Alison, please learn to spell. Yes I have been working out and losing weight, so yes my jeans are looser. HA!! :woohoo:

• onelessSD

Oh punchie! I love the new nickname for our dear little Alison - cupcake! (all the promises of something good and sweet, yet totally incomplete and unsatisfying!) great job!

Scrib - as usual, your artwork says it all! (I didn't realize microsoft put out that version!)

Chop - I hope you rested well, the night crew of education was up to the task and if I do say so myself, delivered a 'smack down' lesson. Looking forward to round -I mean lesson #2! Rock on PTU! (continuing our excellence in education across the nation!) B)

• onelessSD

Well, good evening ladies, Professor Oneless here, let's take attendance and see who's decided to step up to the plate (lurkers that is) and get educated!

Alison?.... Alison?... Alison?... oh Alison?... Alison Jones?... Cupcake?... hmmm, it seems that Alison has gotten lost on her way to class. Darn. We the night crew, were so excited to continue our little education lesson!

Oh well, apparently she's not a big girl yet.

Here's to Education in Excellence across our Nation! Carry on!

Allison needs to realize that she will catch more "bee's" with honey than with vinegar. She (and other's like her) are the reason that I choose not to persue a career in MK. Aside from her lack of "positive" behavior, I get the feeling that recruiter's do not want "empowered" women to make informed "business" decision's. I'm glad site's like this exist. It's very easy to get caught up in the heady pink fog. Very happy my checkbook was MIA when I went to "model" at my friend's "facial" training class and I had time to do some research. Keep up the good work!!

• FormerDebtDirector

I am so glad to have stumbled onto this website. I was a former Independent Debt Director. I was a great cheerleader, coach and mentor until my mother in law passed away. After the bouquet of flowers that Mary Kay sent died, I lost my business, my MK car, my house, and almost my husband. Fortunately I have now paid off entirely the 17K in debt I accrued, and am happy without the pink bubble. When I lost it all, I also lost all of my "friends."

I remember asking how often does the product and packaging change? I was told not very often, but every product changes in some way within one year, and every quarter there is a switch. Yay queen of "sales"??!!???

• raisinberry

FormerDebtDirector...welcome aboard.

Sorry to hear of your losses. The good news is you aren't doing MK anymore, and that is the first step to wholeness.

"Winners" in Mary Kay are pretending that they aren't directly responsible for all the wreckage in their Downlines lives. They massage their own consciences telling themselves that they only "offer" the opportunity and they have no responsibility for what a woman does with it.

We all know what denial this is. We all know that contests are devised to get larger orders, We all know that pressure is brought to bear to "be a team leader", to set an "example". We all know that exclusivity is practised in order to make consultants "want" the suit or "to be in our space". We all know that recognition and attention is DENIED in order to get a dead red to finally move up. We all know that "No, NEXT!" is the battle cry of the SSD moving to ESSD moving to NSD. We all know that absolutely no ones cares that you can exhaust and expend yourself in loyalty to your Area, only to be kicked to the curb when you start addressing real live negative aspects of the business. The MK Sales Leadership absolutely hates it when you apply analysis to the business model--because you will soon discover it is a complete fraud. And that destroys their little world.

The extreme joke of Mary Kay is that you have grossly overpaid cult/celebrity leaders who have become pollyanna-like children with their ears plugged, their eyes covered, drunk on the commissions like too much sugar, while real live women who gave them their trust, get flushed down the financial toilet.

• dupedbypinkfriend

FormerDebtDirector, love your name. Way to tell it like it is (was). :D

• BluMtns

Can we do anything about the denial and awful tactics in MK? Protest or inform others somehow?

• dpawelek

I have a question...Does anyone know if this is true or not concerning Mary Kays compensation plan.. I was told that if you build a business with Mary Kay and are making say 5000.00 per month and then you turn 65 or maybe it is 63 your paycheck is cut in half...How can I find out if this is true or not...anyone know?
thanks...

• Lazy Gardens

dpawelek - Only NSDs get retirement. The rest of them have to keep working if they want to continue to get paid.

• dpawelek

I see but I was wondering if anyone knew if that after age 63-or 65 that they earn less percentage of their residual income if they are not a NSD...That some how Mary Kay lessens the percentage of earnings after a certain age...I have heard this from a couple people who are not Mary kay distributors is there anyway of finding this out?
Thanks...

• Lazy Gardens

dpawelek - There is NO "RESIDUAL INCOME" in Mary Kay unless you are a retired NSD. Period. Please stop using that term, because it is misleading you and others.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residual_income

Residual income is income that comes from stuff you did previously that requires little or no effort to maintain in the present.

1 - Only NSDs get any sort of a retirement income.

2 - Directors continue to get their regular commissions, which are based on how many people they recruit, how many recruits their recruits recruit in turn, and how much product is ordered by their unit and the recruits below them (their downline).

3 - If Directors don't continually work to maintain the size of their unit and the amount of product ordered by their downline, their income falls as the orders fall.

4 - I read the contract, and there is nothing there about age-based commission decreases.

• party_girl

 As I read this article and comments, I have the following thought:

Is the reason I have not been cajoled to place huge orders that my adopted SD has no financial interest? :?:

• jendylan12  - TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

So I signed up to sell mary kay for a friend...I only committed to buy the $100 kit (good deal even if I never sold a thing)...I got invited to a "brush training", that apparently cost everyone else $30 but they got a brush kit...well the MK lady let it slip out what her quarterly profits were...and NOT VERY MUCH CONSIDERING THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS SHE HAS...I pointed out that she OF COURSE MUST make her money from recruiting and she DID NOT WANT TO ADMIT THIS

• Katie Scarlett

jendylan12: my advice to you is to
RUN FROM MK LIKE YOUR ASS IS ON FIRE AND YOUR HAIR IS CATCHING! (Thank you Stephen King for that useful little phrase).

Seriously. Get out while you can, before your life collapes.

• Katie Scarlett

collapses.

• icanbecomesane

Hey Jendylan,
You can save yourself a world of grief by sending your Starter Kit back. Get out before they get their hooks in you.
