How to Finance Your Mary Kay Inventory

Written by TRACY. Posted in Inventory & Selling

Here’s a script that one of our readers says  Mary Kay nsd Allison LaMarr uses when pushing the big Mary Kay inventories. That’s right ladies! Beg, borrow or steal to get the money for inventory. It doesn’t matter how you do it… just do it because Allison’s commission check depends upon it.

The choice is up to you! In this business, your business, YOU are in charge! YOU make the decisions! I know you want ONLY THE BEST for YOURSELF! Often, in other employment situations woman complain of NOT being in charge – of NOT HAVING CONTROL OF THEIR PAYCHECK! At Mary Kay – YOU HAVE THE POWER TO DECIDE!

Product Loyalty in Mary Kay and Amway

Written by TRACY. Posted in Other MLMs

How many times have you been told that you must wear Mary Kay “from head to toe”? I remember feeling disloyal if I used any products were a brand other than Mary Kay, even if those products worked better for me.

I believed it was necessary to be a walking billboard for the products I was peddling and that meant that I had to wear exclusively Mary Kay. Imagine the horror if someone who knew I sold Mary Kay asked about my shade of lipstick and I had to say that it was a Clinique product? Oh, the horrors!

Breathing Again After Mary Kay

I used to look forward to Memorial Day as a “real” excuse NOT to call potential models, and NOT have to do my Monday meeting. Last year at this time, I was still praying for the month to turn around, recruiting like crazy, warm chatting, doing phone interviews, promoting end of the year contests, making new flyers and newsletters, emailing like crazy, and oh yes, praying for the month to turn around.

May meant, in reality (not MK reality) that I was not going to meet the goal AGAIN this year. One more year in nosebleed at Seminar, one more year of not living up to my potential, one more time across the nsd awards banquet stage as a non-top director, one more year with a unit of non-worker bees.

Kathy Helou and the Go-Give Mary Kay Spirit

Written by TRACY. Posted in National Sales Directors

Have you ever heard about how sales directors and national sales directors “adopt” consultants as their own? Have you ever heard them talk about how they “get no money” for adopting people but they do it because that’s what Mary Kay wanted???

Well apparently that rule applies unless your area is bleeding to death and you’re trying to stop the bleeding. That’s exactly what is happening to Kathy Helou. Apparently she’s been trying to beat Gloria Mayfield Banks forever (a little reminiscent of Rena Tarbet and Nancy Tietjen, no?).

My New Recruit Will Be Signing on Saturday!

Whoo hoo! I have a new recruit! “She will sign Saturday morning, she gets paid Friday! This is so much fun and so easy!!!!” Until Saturday comes, and there is no response to your calls… the email address you had for her bounces…

This is so common, it’s pathetic.  We all live for new recruits.  Product in your basement may be your “ATM” but recruits (team members) are your retirement income.  Except that so many do not sign.  The typical scenario is like this:  You take your “guest” to your Mary Kay meeting on Monday night.  Your director is ON that night and your guest is so excited!  YOU are so excited!!!  Your Director is soooooooo excited!!!!  Your director calls your potential team member to schedule an interview, and suggests coffee or lunch and SHE GOES!  The fact that your Director giving is her a free mascara or a limited edition product “for her time” is a factor, but still…

The Truth Is: We Could Have Done More.

It’s time to get off the soap box. Face reality. Hike up our “big girl panties”.

Let’s just face it. We all didn’t do 3 classes a week. We didn’t even work more than an hour or two calling customers, on the phone, per day. When 7 pm rolled around, we cringed. As long as you had leads or call backs from previous parties, you had something to do…otherwise it was a fishing expedition trying to reach people who either didn’t recognize your number from caller ID, or didn’t want to! Our customers liked us… it wasn’t that. They just didn’t want to turn us down again for another invitation to be our model at meeting…or come see our National in town. They didn’t seem to fall for manipulation like we did!

False Recruting Information in Mary Kay

False information provided when recruiting new members to Mary Kay is not new. It has been going on for years. Here is another example of misinformation on a Mary Kay sales director’s website, with our comments in italics.

Mary Kay Facts….Did You Know?

FTC’s Project Fal$e Hope$

Written by TRACY. Posted in MLM Education

Federal and state law enforcement officers have been conducting sweeps targeting bogus business opportunities and work-at-home scam as part of the Federal Trade Commission’s Project Fal$e Hope$.

I thought I’d mention this because it’s interesting to see what businesses the FTC is cracking down on, since it doesn’t seem to do anything about the garden-variety MLMs (which appear legal to many, but that legality could surely be challenged).
