New Timewise Microdermabrasion Packaging

Not a new product announcement, but new packaging. Timewise Microdermabrasion is being changed from a blush pink tube with black cap to a true pink package. Consultants will start receiving the new packaging this month, but Mary Kay won’t put the new stuff in The Look or other customer materials until later this year…. to help consultants who are still selling the old version. This is the first time I’ve heard of them doing something like that.

All of the Timewise products are going to get updates to packaging in 2020 and 2021. The announcement from MK is below.

Beginning this month, you may notice new packaging for the TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Plus Set, similar to the TimeWise Miracle Set 3D®. That’s because this TimeWise® skin care favorite is receiving a makeover!

To help manage this transition and allow you time to work through existing inventory, the new packaging will not be showcased in The Look or other consumer materials until later this year. Be on the lookout for more packaging updates on additional TimeWise® skin care products throughout 2020 – 2021.

To help you introduce this new packaging to your customers, we’ve created a flier located on Product Central.

Get ready to promote the same amazing formulas your customers know and love, with a fresh new look worthy of a #MyMKLife post!

  1. If you happen to be one of the few, silly customers paying double retail to consultomers, what a perfect time to offer to pay “wholesale”. This, so she can order the new packaging. The next time around offer “wholesale” again saying you’ll gladly help her make production – or you can buy it elsewhere. Why pay double and waste money when you don’t have to?

No one should EVER pay stated MSRP for an MLM product. That’s just stupid, and the company doesn’t expect it anyway. Better yet, never buy an MLM product and support scammers.

    • I’m EXTREMELY disappointed in the new product…. says it has not changed formula but it is a totally different scrub….. the original was very fine and I really like it…. the new stuff has large beads in it and I don’t care for that kind of scrub. Won’t buy anymore….

      • You’re not the first to say it’s bad! So relieved I’m not having to sell it and romance it as the best thing ever.

  2. I wonder if the reason they’re doing this (notifying everyone of the upcoming change) is due to the amount of attention PT has brought about their continual practice of NOT doing so. Maybe so they can say “it’s not true; we don’t do that…see?!?”

  3. Regardless of the spin I am sure product sales are even slower than ever before. To me seems like they are giving the customereps a pretend opportunity to hype it themselves as they see fit!! Esp with the great way to make a #mymarykaylife post suggestion. Mary Kay is quietly saying between the lines don’t believe your friend that said this is not a business, Reddit, PinkTruth or any human being that is fed up with MLMs!

  4. $55 is an awfully steep price for two tubes that are the size you find in the Target sample bins. The “Refine” Is 2.5 ounces, and the “pore minimizer” is 1 ounce.

Are the current packages any bigger?

    • “Are the current packages any bigger?”

Same sizes. The photo I saw showed the two tubes in a display box that serves no purpose and will be thrown away. Over-packaged.

  5. While we’re at it, has MK given a reason to justify the packaging makeover, other than to fatten their own wallets?

    • You are on to it. I bet the new stuff is outsourced for production somewhere else, that does not provide the same packaging as MK produced items. In other words, when you outsource you may have to use their available packaging.

PS. I recall this is harsh stuff with cosmetic grade AL as the scrub. Aluminum.

Do your self a favor and go for walnut, almond shells, for face exfoliant.

    • Kaybots: “All brands update their products and packaging to stay with the current trends!!!!”

  6. Microdermabrasion is so 2005! Their $70 paper masks aren’t selling, and this is another example of wasted energy trying to keep MK relevant.

    Blah blah blah

  7. “Microdermabrasion”

Just today, I heard one say, “It’s just like the machine they use in a spa, except you use your hands.”

  8. I’m surprised it took them this long to change the packaging to match the Timewise 3D. But, not surprising.

  9. When I quit mk I starting finding alternatives for the products I was using.

Bliss micromagic is awesome and it smells like peppermint.

AND it’s only $15 for the 3.4 oz bottle of scrub.

Plus it doesn’t have the harmful ingredients they Mk still puts in its products.

So much for being On trend.
