Let Others See the Truth

Sandy Griffith is a Mary Kay sales director. She’s a special kind of loser. She’s been at it for 47 years. She hasn’t moved up. She has no retirement. She pretends she’s been helping women and wants us to ignore the millions of women who have lost money and been victimized by MK over the last 47 years.

I’ve been with Mary Kay for 47 years and always self supporting ( no other income source). I live in a lovely home and have driven an “earned MK car” for 44 years. (It’s been free to me but I didn’t d work at a peaceful pace my entire career.).

I’m financially secure and it’s all because I’ve worked my MK Business as a business and never entertained the thought of quitting.

I know that your perspective is not based on any reality that I have lived all these years. There will always be a few people in any business, organization or church who use people for their own gain. That does not make the entire company, organization or church less true to the vision of the leader.

I’ll never know if you post this because I don’t frequent your site but I hope you are brave enough to let others see my MARY KAY truth and reality and I know hundreds more personally who would totally agree with me

    • And on that Schedule C, I and the FTC would like proof that you have made the MAJORITY of your profit from reselling products – not commissions from ordering and/or your downline ordering. Anything else merely proves you’re an endless-chain recruiting pyramid schemer for a product-based pyramid scheme. This is if you can even show a net profit on the requested Schedule C. We’ll wait.

    • Chat, spot on requesting that ever-elusive Schedule C!
I am 100% positive that will never be coughed up.
I am just as positive that she did not pay for her nice home with MKrap earnings. It was most likely from a spouse with a good income. Or a divorce settlement. Or an inheritance. Or lotto winnings. Maybe some of all the above lol.

  1. Sandy has been at this for so many years that admitting what she has done to other women is too scary. I was lucky that I didn’t recruit. I realized I’d been had and walked away. I know some of the ladies here have bravely come to terms with facing not only their own financial hole but that of their recruits. Until women like Sandy stop covering for the company, this will continue.

I can only speculate about her claim that she is making a living. After 47 years, it would be a tough journey to do something else. What a shame. I can’t imagine my brief “lapse in judgment” decision to try Mary Kay being a lifelong prison sentence.

So I wonder who is subsidizing this lady’s lifestyle? You can’t make a living wage unless you’re higher in the pyramid and it’s always precarious. I find it hard to believe that she lives comfortably solely on MK income. I wonder if she owned her own home before she started or if she has a partner who has a steady, REAL job.

      • She is most likely collecting from a spouse’s earnings. She can even collect her earnings derived from (provided she was married in excess of 10 years) a spouse’s earnings, which we all know is more than she ever earned lol.

        • Oops I didn’t proofread. I omitted that even if divorced, she could claim SS earnings from her husband’s earnings, provided she was married in excess of 10 years.

  3. “I know that your perspective is not based on any reality that I have lived all these years.”

In other words, all you care about is yourself?

“There will always be a few people in any business, organization or church who use people for their own gain.”

Right. And if your story is to be believed, you’re one of them. How many women over the past 4+ decades have signed up under your umbrella, lost money, and quit? Hundreds? Thousands? Every one of them lost money so you could keep your car, you know. How is that not “using people for [your] own gain”?

“That does not make the entire company, organization or church less true to the vision of the leader.”

That’s the whole point. You are true to the vision of the leader, whether or not you’re telling the truth about being financially secure. Mary Kay’s entire scheme is set up so that only a very few succeed off of the losses of others under them, and those who do not succeed are told to fake it till they make it. So you’re either a leech or a liar; that’s the Mary Kay Way.

    Congratulations.

  4. “What I told you was true, from a certain point of view. […] You’re going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.”

    Obi Wan Kenobi.

  5. Better hope the ship doesn’t take on more water because a resume with MK on it is a joke. Just watch…

  6. “my MK Business”

Sandy, owning a business for almost fifty years is a rarity, but those who DO own their small/family business for so many “successful” decades can, and do, SELL their business upon retirement.

They can sell the business name, the location if they own it (and ones in business that long generally do), their client base, the registered trademarks and copyrights associated with it, and any inventory and equipment they have. This gives them even more money to enjoy their retirement.

So tell us, Sandy, will you be selling your “business” when you decide to retire? Why wouldn’t you, since it’s so successful? How about your physical location? No? Fair enough, not every successful business involves a brick-and-mortar. How about your client list? Certainly that has value. No? Oh right, you don’t own that, and never have. How about the downline you’ve worked so hard to build and maintain? Surely if you own your business, you could sell that downline to another “business owner’? No? That’s right, you don’t own that either. You can’t even decide who does get it when you retire; your NSD makes that decision and probably pads her daughter’s unit with it, and you won’t get a single dime. Okay, maybe you can’t sell any of those things associated with your “business”, but surely you at least can sell the inventory you’ve already paid for (including sales tax) in any way you see fit (eBay, yard sale, advertised on FB, to an IBC)? Wait, the one thing you do actually own, you aren’t permitted to sell on your own terms?

Wow Sandy, you certainly have spent nearly fifty years building a successful business that you can sell upon your retirement.
