You’re a Conspiracy Theorist

I was the lucky recipient of the below email from a woman who won’t reveal her real name. She talks as if she was at NSD level, and yet she gets a lot of the lingo wrong.

Hi, Tracy. In the past years I have read over quite a few of your comments on that site you wrote against MK. And I would love to say this, whether you agree with me or not. That is what opinions are for.

These women that have been taking up for Mary kay, it is because they truly are doing well and are successful with Mary kay. just because you weren’t, and others haven’t been, doesn’t mean we are all brainwashed or lying.

I’m a 65 year old Grandmother who recently retired from Mary Kay, I worked for MK for 35 years and I loved it all the way up to retirement in January of 2020. I have 7 grandgirls who also work for MK. Out of the 7, Only 4 are at the top right now. The other 3 are full time Mom’s & married so they don’t have as much time to put into it as the other 4 do. MK helped me put my Son’s and Daughters through college and I was also able to afford so much more things that I have always wanted.

I was married for 45 years and My Husband died from Covid-19 on May 13th 2020. When Richard Rogers found out, He paid for my Husband’s funeral, as well as donating $25,000 to Me. When I asked him Why? He said “for being a loyal hard-working Employee for 35 years and for always being kind”.

I had over 4500 Women from all walks of life, working under Me. I even got the pleasure to meeting every one of them at a MK Retirement Party that MK threw for me. All lovely ladies aged from 18-50.

One of the ladies I helped to recruit was on SSI and was tired of a very low income and after 6 years of her talking to me (Me never forcing her to join) She seen my grandgirls join and the 4 becoming successful within a couple months and so, this young woman called me one day and asked if she could join, and I said we would love for her to. That was 3 years ago and She went from $720 a month and living in a travel trailer with no running water to now owning a beautiful 2 bedroom home in Dallas and bringing in over $8500 per month. I am beyond proud of her. Within the first 5 months after she joined, She got a Beautiful Pink Car! Now, She has a Even More Beautiful Pink Cadillac!

I could go on and on and on about all the success stories in my 35 years, but you my dear I believe are a conspiracy theorists, you say you want to help women, yet you call them brainwashed just because they are successful and you weren’t. The only success you have had is what, writing three books on fraud investigating? Which is wonderful for you, as women we should empower one another instead of bringing one another down and that is what you are doing. You believe you are trying to help women, but in reality you’re not. Instead you’re mocking them and calling them a liar and saying they are brainwashed. Shame On You.

I pray you find peace and try to quit bringing women down to your miserable level.

I have also written books on my success and failures. I have had quite a few failures with MK but, always got back on top! If you’re interested, let me know and I would love to send you a free signed copy.

I’m also a Retired research journalist. I have also wrote a book on that.

I have wrote a book on Multi-marketing levels. also let me know if you would love free copies of those.

Good-Luck. And Welcome to Almost 2021 where We Women aspire to inspire women!

I responded: If your story is true, I’d be able to find things about you and your MK involvement online. Sadly, there is nothing. Feel free to send me the pics of the party MK threw to you, one of your big commission checks, etc. Tell me about the retirement plan MK has for you?

She said:

It is all very true. I have a 401k retirement from MK. If you have a PO box I will proudly send you copies of my books. it is funny, you say you can’t find me, yet you do not know my name, so how can you find me? I’m guessing you tried by my email address? If you knew anything you would know that the name I’m using on my email address is not even my Name. It is a fictional character from one of my books that is waiting to be released spring of 2021! I do know one name I know you have heard of, because you’ve written junk about her. Kristin Sharpe. Lovely lady.. also Proud to call her My own blood. Beautiful, elegant and graceful.

Are you against Mary kay, because you weren’t pretty enough? Or maybe because you didn’t think that you were good enough and you didn’t have enough confidence?

Also it takes money to make money, any job in the world right now…literally. I knew Mary Kay Ash, she was such a beautiful and sweet lady, kind. and the fact that you would debunk or try to anyway her company even after death, is very sad and speaks volumes for your character. I think my next book will be about you and people like you. Thank you for the inspiration.

When I called her on the “not pretty enough” comment, and mentioned that her 401k would make her a corporate employee, yet I know she’s not in Texas…. I got the following response:

People are right about you, you take words and twist them. NOT once did I ever say you are not pretty enough. I simply asked if you felt like you were not pretty enough.. major difference, you would think you would know that being educated as you are. I also never said I was not in Texas, now did I? just because my family, and other blood relations are not in Texas doesn’t mean I’m not..

  1. Wow. I really just kind of pity this one, and I’m sincerely sorry for the loss of her husband. ‘Rona is the demon germ from hell. That said, the bit about her “always being kind” blew out my irony meter so hard it left a crater the size of Chixulub.

She’s written fanfiction not only about her MK success but the rest of her life as well. There’s no way she can convince me she’s written so many books on so many subjects (well, maybe she’s written them, but I don’t believe they’ve been published by an actual publisher), especially since she won’t provide her name, even privately. It would be such a simple way to prove her bona fides and I personally am always curious about authors I meet in the wild. I often buy their books both to support them and out of sheer nosiness.

I used to write fanfiction about my own life, too, back when I was unhappy with my lot and didn’t think I was good enough as I am. But someone would always see through it and I’d get caught out in a lie, and I’d wind up making tracks in the opposite direction.

Sorry, hun. Your story’s got too many holes and there are too many MK long-timers here not to see right through it.

  2. I will give her one thing…she is smart enough to withhold her name from a fraud investigator who has the skills to verify the veracity of her lofty claims.

I found the single name drop to be especially curious.

    • Well, she did say Kristin Sharpe is her own blood. The rest is partial truth and poor grammar used as a smoke screen.

  3. Hi, Tracy. In the past years I have read over quite a few of your comments on that site you wrote against MK. And I would love to say this, whether you agree with me or not. That is what opinions are for.

    Hello.

These women that have been taking up for Mary kay, it is because they truly are doing well and are successful with Mary kay. just because you weren’t, and others haven’t been, doesn’t mean we are all brainwashed or lying.

If you had also read here, you would have seen that many of the commentators WERE successful in MK, given how success in is rewarded in Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company.

I’m a 65 year old Grandmother who recently retired from Mary Kay, I worked for MK for 35 years and I loved it all the way up to retirement in January of 2020.

Congrats on the retirement. I hope you have a nice 401 k behind you.

I have 7 grandgirls who also work for MK. Out of the 7, Only 4 are at the top right now. The other 3 are full time Mom’s & married so they don’t have as much time to put into it as the other 4 do.

But Mk offers executive pay for part-time work so why aren’t your SAHMs just as successful as their sisters and cousins. Could this be a small sign that MLMs don’t work??

MK helped me put my Son’s and Daughters through college and I was also able to afford so much more things that I have always wanted.

    Sweet if true.

My condolences. My husband died several years ago and it is a hard time to navigate. And if this Mr. Rogers paid, well that was a nice gesture.

I had over 4500 Women from all walks of life, working under Me. I even got the pleasure to meeting every one of them at a MK Retirement Party that MK threw for me. All lovely ladies aged from 18-50.

Why do I think this would have been publicised by MK? They love showing off this kind if thing, at least the NSD’s do.

One of the ladies I helped to recruit was on SSI and was tired of a very low income and after 6 years of her talking to me (Me never forcing her to join)

Lady, you got her. But it took you SIX years. Obviously, your life-style wasn’t opulent enough to convince her for six years of you nagging at her.

She seen my grandgirls join and the 4 becoming successful within a couple months and so, this young woman called me one day and asked if she could join, and I said we would love for her to. That was 3 years ago and She went from $720 a month and living in a travel trailer with no running water to now owning a beautiful 2 bedroom home in Dallas and bringing in over $8500 per month.

    👉👈 Sure, Jan.

I am beyond proud of her. Within the first 5 months after she joined, She got a Beautiful Pink Car! Now, She has a Even More Beautiful Pink Cadillac!

    Yeah…your math ain’t mathing.

I could go on and on and on about all the success stories in my 35 years, but you my dear I believe are a conspiracy theorists,

    How so?

you say you want to help women, yet you call them brainwashed just because they are successful and you weren’t.

Again, many of the commentators here were successful in terms that are measured by Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s own structure.

The only success you have had is what, writing three books on fraud investigating?

    More than I have written.

Which is wonderful for you, as women we should empower one another instead of bringing one another down and that is what you are doing.

no, sorry, we are not bringing one another down by writing out our experiences, whether positive or negative. It is simply our truth and just because it does not equate to your truth, does not mean it is wrong either.

You believe you are trying to help women, but in reality you’re not. Instead you’re mocking them and calling them a liar and saying they are brainwashed. Shame On You.

How are we not helping women? we show them how to return their inventory to gain some of their money back. this community is certainly one of the most and and accepting i have come across in nearly 40 years on the internet.

I pray you find peace and try to quit bringing women down to your miserable level.

I would pray that you find it in yourself to to not judge others. I have plenty of peace in my life and I an certainly not miserable.

I have also written books on my success and failures. I have had quite a few failures with MK but, always got back on top! If you’re interested, let me know and I would love to send you a free signed copy.

    Please.

I’m also a Retired research journalist. I have also wrote a book on that.

Really? I’m not sure why this wasn’t mentioned earlier, could this be the real reason you could afford all those things for your children?

I have wrote a book on Multi-marketing levels. also let me know if you would love free copies of those.

I got a Hugo Award for writing. Sure it was being part of AO3, but still.

Good-Luck. And Welcome to Almost 2021 where We Women aspire to inspire women!

And we want to inspire women and men too, to throw off their blinders and see that Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company has it’s very public down-side of over 98% of participants not making a substantial amount of money per their own figures.

    • “I had over 4500 Women from all walks of life, working under Me. I even got the pleasure to meeting every one of them at a MK Retirement Party that MK threw for me.”

Well, this alone is a lie. There is no way humanly possible that she met “every single one” of 4,500 women at one single party. But the claim just rolls off her tongue so easily and she somehow expects that nobody will question it.

This reminds me of how Chelsea will claim, in consecutive social media posts, that she makes 50% on everything she sells…while the next minute offering some BOGO sale in which it’s literally impossible to make that guaranteed “50% profit”.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I personally am highly offended that someone would spout such blatant lies and impossible claims and expect that I would just automatically believe them. Offensive, rude, corrupt. And if they can lie so easily about these claims, why should I trust a SINGLE thing that they say?

      13
    • “The other 3 are full time Mom’s (sic)”

      BUT I HAVE WROTE BOOKS!

“MK helped me put my Son’s (sic) and Daughters through college”

      BUT I HAVE WROTE BOOKS!

“She seen (sic) my grandgirls join”

      BUT I HAVE WROTE BOOKS!

“you my dear I believe are a conspiracy theorists (I can’t figure out where to include the ‘sic’ in this atrocity)”

      BUT I HAVE WROTE BOOKS!

“I have wrote a book on Multi-marketing levels. also (siccity-sic, for the lack of double spacing and not capitalizing the A in ‘also’) me know if you would love free copies of those.”

      BUT I HAVE WROTE BOOKS!

While there are many more issues in her post, I no longer give a sic…I’m out of sics to give.

  4. It is all very true. I have a 401k retirement from MK. I, too, have an e-mail I use exclusively for potential spam. And congratulations, if you really did have a novel published.

I do know one name I know you have heard of, because you’ve written junk about her. Kristin Sharpe.

And yet, only one of several hundred written about here. And yet, you appear to be unable to point out one single falsehood written about her in over 15 years. Strange that!

Lovely lady.. also Proud to call her My own blood. Beautiful, elegant and graceful.

This some kind of vampire family thing?

Are you against Mary kay, because you weren’t pretty enough? Or maybe because you didn’t think that you were good enough and you didn’t have enough confidence? ,/i>

this extra weird victim-shaming. Having seen pictures of Tracy, I would say that she is certainly attractive. And I’m a sucker for red-heads.

Also it takes money to make money,

This takes the biscuit. She is straight up admitting that her MK life-style was funded by her real job.

any job in the world right now…literally.

    You’re not Bill Gates, honey.

I knew Mary Kay Ash, she was such a beautiful and sweet lady, kind. and the fact that you would debunk or try to anyway her company even after death, is very sad and speaks volumes for your character.

If It is all very true, why would debunking Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company be a problem? Plenty of people have written about the bad parts of Wal*Mart, Microsoft, Tesla, Amazon, Starbucks etc., why aren’t you complaining about them? Or the cult of personality around the figureheads of those companies?

I think my next book will be about you and people like you. Thank you for the inspiration.

Cool, I’ll add that to my Hugo Award.

And yet this is the quote from her original e-mail

Are you against Mary kay, because you weren’t pretty enough? Or maybe because you didn’t think that you were good enough and you didn’t have enough confidence?

    22
    • Yeah, but she’s also the same woman who claims to have met all 4500 of the women who rocked under her at one retirement party. Ridiculously delusional lies seem to be her thing.

  5. Love all the plugs for her “books”. I’m kind of surprised she didn’t leave titles, trying to market them. I would have had to check them out due to sheer morbid curiosity. But they probably don’t exist.

    20
    • Gonna go for self-published via Amazon because I cannot see any reputable company wanting to have an editor reworking her prose unless she’s at Tolkien or King level of authorship.

  6. This letter has all the hallmarks of fantasy, likely written by someone young enough to think 65 is really, really old. I’m 65, and we have grandkids, but the eldest is all of 9. Seven (or more) granddaughters aged 18 and up at the age of 65? It’s mathematically possible, but highly unlikely. Even more unlikely is to have 7 who all joined Mary Kay.

She should have pretended to be 75 or more.

That she claims to be a retired NSD but thinks Mary Kay offers 401(k) plans to consultants is just icing on the fantasy cake.

At the risk of sounding like a dirty old man, I just have to add: Tracy not pretty enough? Tracy? Wha-a-a-t?

    29
    1
    • My sister is 65 also and her oldest grandchild is 24, the same age as my oldest child. But out of an unknown number of children who gave her at least 7 grandgirls ( barf.. something about that word is kind of cringe) that’s not likely that all of them are “at the top”.
That’s the kind of thing that is screamed from the roof-tops of Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company because they love this kind of self-promotion.

      17
      • “Grandgirls” brought the bile up in my gullet, too. I have two grandDAUGHTERS, thankyouverymuch.

        19
      • Yep like the phrase “I seen” it’s easier to slip up and use it when speaking then when writing.

Also there about 8 billion other ways to get a tax write off over paying for a funeral and giving a bonus to the widow…. ..

If this is true I hope you paid the appropriate amount of taxes on it….

        10
  7. Did anyone else get the impression that the letter and replies were written by different people? Errors, choice of words, and sentence structure appear to change.

I agree she would need an excellent editor.

    20
  8. I wonder what sort of harassment she would indulge in if you really did send her your PO box. Is she (he?) just some bored troll who’s content to stir up a little online drama? Or is she a truly unstable person who might escalate in the real world, if she had some means of sending you physical items?

As for “let me know if you want free copies,” trolls use that kind of technique fairly often in an anti-cult forum I belong to. They love to throw out some sort of bait that will keep you engaged in the conversation. If this were a legit published author, she’d have just given you the link to her Amazon page.

    14
  9. She did not receive any 401k from MK. Nope, didn’t happen. And “I have also wrote a book on that.” SMH, the English Major in me is cringing. That’s a book I have fortunately not readed.

    29
    • I’m also a Retired research journalist.

You’d expect better from some-one with such high credentials.

      21
        • Well she retired from that world 30 years ago before she found the miracle of Mary Kay. So it’s got to be highly relevant to today’s workers.

        • Ooooh if Tracy is able to figure out who she is, our resident private eye Parsonsgreen would likely get to the bottom of these claims!

    • Honestly, I wish we could stop ridiculing submissions, grammar. I found out recently that these MK females make fun of me because I always post on this website and they laugh at my writing but if they read my writing all the time and they know that I’m constantly reminding people that English is my second language. I post on here a lot and I am sure you can see that my grammar is not the best as I’ve explained LOL actually, my last few comments on other post today, I hate to sound like a broken record always repeating it, but I just get so mad when I see the screenshots of the mocking me. I would have respect for them if they could just admit that English is my second language OK then make fun out of me, but they act like I’ve been speaking English.
I just think we better than this.

      13
      1
      • Shay, your English good enough that I thought you were a native until you told us otherwise. I remember Tracy expressing the same thing. One thing is for sure: your English is orders of magnitude better than my skill in any language other than English. Orders. Of. Magnitude.

But this writer self-identified as a “research journalist”; her language skills should reflect that. They don’t, which leads me to believe her research journalist claim is as much a fantasy as her retired NSD claim.

        20
      • Honestly, Shay, your English is near perfect. I’ve lived in Quebec for over 20 years and still get my ma/mon mixed up.

        • A former coworker was about to marry a Frenchman and went out to dinner with his family a few weeks before the wedding. This was in France, so she had to break out her newly-learned French to order. She was feeling pretty proud of herself for being able to speak the local language, and confidently ordered fish.

The only problem: the French word for “fish” is poisson, pronounced “PWAH-sahn.” (Even I know that, from the song “Les Poissons” in the little Mermaid, sung by René Auberjonois.) She said it “POY-sahn” by mistake, which of course is the French word for “poison” (spelled the same as in English, pronounced somewhat differently).

Translation: “…and I’d like some poison, please!”

Everyone, including she, burst out laughing. His family chimed in one by one: “May I also have some poison?” “I, too, would like some poison!” The waiter walked away pointing his finger skyward, shouting “Poison for EVERYONE!”

It was a good ice-breaker, and her new family-to-be learned she could laugh at herself.

      • I edited many works by non-native speakers during my career, and would have to look REAL HARD to find something to correct in your posts.

There are errors non-native speakers/writers make – usually one of the quirks of English traps them, or they bring structures from their native language into their English. They seldom make errors in verb tenses and other basic grammar.

And there are the errors that native speakers make when they paid no attention to the basics of their language during their school years. Those are the errors this supposed MK success is making.

        11
  10. “Sorry. but you’re not an employee or were you ever in employee of Mary Kay. “

Uh you know what you never did state your position so it’s very possible that you could have been an employee who worked at the main office or something.. OK but if that’s the case, then why slam others here for sharing their experience? Um why not do the research and look at the real numbers on how many people actually succeed as a consultant in Marykay?

  11. I love how she capitalizes “Me.” Who the hell does she think she is with capitalized pronouns? God?
