I’ve been in Mary Kay for 8 years and I still love it. If you all had put even half the effort into your businesses instead of whining online, you might actually have gotten somewhere. But no. Easier to blame the company than admit you didn’t hustle. You want success handed to you without doing the work.

Mary Kay is a business not a charity. You’re mad because it didn’t magically work out for you, but for the rest of us who do the work, it’s amazing. Sorry, but not everyone’s cut out to be an entrepreneur. Mary Kay isn’t a scam. Quitting is the scam you pulled on yourselves.

  1. PTC, some of the contributors here were indeed successful in Mary Kay…by Mary Kay definition. They speak out now because of how money is made in MLMs like Mary Kay. Upline profits require downline losses. There is no way around this.

If you cloned the most successful Mary Kay salesperson, and filled the sales ranks with these clones, the loss rates would remain the same. Contrary to your assertion, hard work can’t overcome the nature of MK’s business model. Downline losses are built in and can’t be avoided. The upline simply can’t profit without these losses. MLM industry averages have it that ~249 participants must lose money for each profitable participant. I am not okay with this.

In traditional businesses, it is possible for 100% of participants to make positive money. I am okay with that. PTC, can you see the difference?

  2. Gosh, someone so sweet and pleasant must completely have OODLES of customers 😘

Next time, try reading the site instead of attacking the pink strawman in your mind.

  3. However, I will give points for “Quitting is the scam you pulled on yourselves.” That’s a Mary Kay Kliché ™ I haven’t heard before.

  4. These women who come on the site and spew their “you didn’t work hard enough” BS will never understand that Pink Truth is full of former successful Sales Directors and consultants. Most likely way more successful than they will ever be.

  5. It looks like “You Didn’t Hustle” has been on here giving down votes lol. Keep reading, You didn’t, keep reading. You will find that we have everything from IBCs to future NSDs on this site – they all say the same thing. This is a losing proposition.

Cool story! But what rank are you? I’m guessing EESSD awaiting your call into the Sisterhood of the Traveling NSDs. But sadly, you’re probably a lowly SD or DIQ.

If you all had put even half the effort into your businesses instead of whining online, you might actually have gotten somewhere.

Any whining you see on here, comes from inside Mary Kay’s on-line director’s groups. Those screenshots tell you exactly how they are struggling. If your SSDs are struggling, how much harder it is going ton be for your DIQs who are the ones fueling the machine.

But no. Easier to blame the company than admit you didn’t hustle. You want success handed to you without doing the work.

If you had read any of the “I-Stories”, you would see most of these ladies were successful, in terms of Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company. They were the sash-wearing stage walkers. The be-jeweled jacket wearers in their career cars. Those are the women talking here.

Mary Kay is a business not a charity.

Charities exist to hopefully do some good. Not hand out bundles of money but practical help and access to resources.

You’re mad because it didn’t magically work out for you,

No-one here is mad. Even if they were, it’s not a bad thing to be able to express (general) your emotions. Far too often, society requires women to repress any negative emotions in favour of “keeping sweet”.

but for the rest of us who do the work, it’s amazing.

If it’s so amazing why are there just over one hundred NSDs? Why are there only 11 EESDs? Why do women struggle to get through DIQ only to lose it several months later? Why do we see women go through DIQ so many times? All this is documented here with screenshots from their own social; media pages.

What’s so amazing about only charting commissions on the only Income Disclosure Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company publishes? Who’s making bank here?

Sorry, but not everyone’s cut out to be an entrepreneur.

Oh honey, the only entrepreneur in the company was the previously mentioned Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash. The rest of you from IBC to NSD are just “playing shop” with goods you had nothing to do with creating and being told how to advertise. That not “being an entrepreneur”!

    Mary Kay isn’t a scam.

It’s not an ethical business neither.

Quitting is the scam you pulled on yourselves.

  7. There’s nothing to work! Honey ! Do the math! There aren’t enough people in the WORLD to buy Mary Kay. There is such thing as the internet/ Sephora/ Ulta–we can walk in and get what we want AND get help from experts instead of someone who has been ‘warm chatted’ at the Starbucks.

Get out while you can and while you can save face.

  8. The part PTCs keep refusing to acknowledge is just because you can make some money in MK doesn’t mean you should. At what point do ethics and morals mean anything?

And I’d love to see how the hustle paid off in tangible ways…don’t show me the car, bees, or bar pins…I want to see your ledger and schedule C…I’ll wait…

You’re not prepared to defend any opportunity or have any “business partners” if you can’t provide transparent and clear financial statements.
