Your One-Sided Stories
Far be it for us to tell about our experiences!
Your website is full of one-sided stories that only tell the negative. There are way more stories that are positive. Women make so many good friends in Mary Kay and learn so much. There is far more good that you’re giving credit for.
I’m not denying that some people struggle in Mary Kay, but you never acknowledge the thousands of consultants who are successful and satisfied.
You claim to be objective, yet you filter out any positive experiences. That makes your content biased and unreliable. If you’re going to criticize, at least be honest enough to present both sides.
Um, it’s not even statistically possible for “thousands to succeed” in MK…
Maybe the author has a different definition than most of us, of what “successful” means.
Successful? Really? Do you attend the weekly meetings every week? Do you note how many consultants sold how much each week? Not ordered, but sold? Do you note how much your director said she sold, not ordered? Anyone can order. Selling is all together different. Numbers were dismal to non existent in the 90s and worse today. It is laughable how excited you all are about a $50 party or selling 5 mascaras. We would have been to embarrassed to mentioned it. My definition of successful would be income of 50K+ to start and increased over time, like an above minimum wage job. Something you can live on…alone, like a grownup. Plus making extra, on top of this, to cover retirement and medical to be on par with those working a real job. So 70K annually. Only a few NSDs are really making this kind of money. Think about it. No benifits, and no retirement and no social security contributions. One day you are young and beautiful, trust me, the next day you are retirement age. It happens overnight. Trust me. Be prepared!
Your website is full of one-sided stories that only tell the negative.
If you can only see the negative stories then you are either not looking hard enough or those are the ones that make you think very hard about what you are doing.
There are way more stories that are positive. Women make so many good friends in Mary Kay and learn so much. There is far more good that you’re giving credit for.
The commentariat who were in Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company frequently talk about the good times they had, the friends they made, the friends who dumped them the second they left.
I’m not denying that some people struggle in Mary Kay, but you never acknowledge the thousands of consultants who are successful and satisfied.
There’s Mary Kay Corporation 2024 Canadian Income Disclosure. You can extrapolate from these figures just how many thousands are not successful.

You claim to be objective, yet you filter out any positive experiences.
Again, there are plenty of positive experiences of being in Mary Kay on this site.
That makes your content biased and unreliable.
The only bias I’m seeing is coming from you. Does posting screenshots of director-only groups bitching about their down-line not ordering enough be unreliable? Is highlighting the fall in commissions year on year biased?
If you’re going to criticize, at least be honest enough to present both sides.

Oh, sure, because every Mary Kay website and Facebook group is so evenhanded and makes sure to present the cons along with the pros. After all, they want a potential recruit to make an informed decision, based on the facts, They’re totally transparent about the odds of success, the amount of work required, and the potential of making money through sales vs recruitment.
IN SOME BIZARRO WORLD ALTERNATE UNIVERSE SOMEWHERE.
Even though MK doesn’t like it, recruits and those already in deserve that chance to know the whole truth adn they’re certainly not going to find it in any of MK’s resources. That’s the valuable service that this site provides.
Why doesn’t Mk UsA publish this statement? Those are pretty sad numbers.
MK USA doesn’t publish the statement because they’re not compelled to do so. On the other hand, it’s published in Canada because Canadian law requires it. And the numbers are unbelievably sad!
Because when the FTC proposed a regulation requiring it, some very well-funded lobbyists fought iot, saying it would “discourage” people from joining.
Actually, OP, as your comment here demonstrates, 20% of the weekly Pinktruth content is written by Mary Kay supporters.
Please show me a Mary Kay website or social media group does the same for MK critics.
OP, it can be objectively shown that only a tiny sliver of participants in MLMs like Mary Kay can turn a true business profit. Research for the FTC suggests that for each person turning even a 1 penny or more of aggregate profit, another 249 must be losing money. Of those timy few turning a profit, an even smaller sliver are making anywear near decent money in the aggregate.
I challenge you to go back and count the specific comments about Mary Kay, and see if the ratio of bad to good matches the 249-to-1 performance ratios. Considering Fridays are devoted to critics, that’s 20% of the week’s articles (4-to-1) most weeks.
When I engage this site, I am looking out for the 249 being harmed by MK participation. You choose to side with the 1 who is doing the harming.
I can justify my choice. Can you?
Ok then, share your positive story. Share one of your friend’s stories. I’ll wait.
I’d love to see the redacted raw data of one of these elusive MK ladies who make a living wage on sales alone.
No commissions. No car payment.
Just that one “Super Special Consultant” who by all measures of Mary Kay Success tm should be imparting her wit and wisdom to all levels of consultomers.
Well, there is this.

I would like to do it again with more recent numbers but they have stopped publishing the newletters in places I can get to.
We have repeatedly asked for evidence of significant earnings in Mary Kay. No one has ever coughed up their income verification. Until you are prepared do so, please take a long walk off a short pier.
And prove how Mary Kay’s own figures are wrong??

So how much profit did you make last year? Post a copy of your Schedule C and block your name and Social Security number. Nobody knows who you are. But it will never happen.
Hi MK hun,
I’ve heard your side of the story. It’s bullshit.
Have a nice day.
If retired nationals have to keep working by way of their children, it doesn’t work.
Mary Kay is about making good friends and learning? Not making money? I mean isn’t business about making money?
