Wrinkles To You!
I am a new Mary Kay consultant of roughly a month’s experience, and I just discovered your website today when seeking information on how to “warm chat” if you’re plagued with paralyzing shyness.
I’m glad I didn’t know about Pink Truth before today, because I may not have signed up with MK if I had seen all the negativity being splattered all over your site. It’s one thing to lay out “truths” (which are completely subjective) for unwitting newbees in an attempt to ward them off of the “evil corporation” that is Mary Kay, but to disallow people who have made a successful go of it to post all the good they do, or to simply defend themselves and the company is absolutely disgusting.
Yes, there happens to be a very large turnaround for Mary Kay independent Beauty Consultants, but it is also true that if a woman has a negative experience working with Mary Kay, it is her OWN fault!
When I signed up (I sought out my personal consultant and asked how to join because I needed another career option and some extra money), I was warned that to make a career out of my Mary Kay business, actual work was required. I believed that, and I’m taking it seriously, and I know that if I fail at this, the onus is mine. Starting out, I haven’t made much money yet… But I haven’t regretted taking this leap to better myself and my situation for one moment.
Wrinkles to you for slandering a company that has helped so many people, and continues to do so. You can keep your snark and your cynicism; I’ll take the money and the friends I’m making and all the opportunities in front of me, and I won’t give your sad little website a second thought.

“but it is also true that if a woman has a negative experience working with Mary Kay, it is her OWN fault!”
That’s where you & I completely disagree. When over 99% of consultants lose money, it’s surely not the consultant’s fault. It’s the Mary Kay structure. All of Mary Kay Corp’s income comes from orders from consultants. Most of those profits for the company and directors come from on-boarding new consultants who get large inventory orders. That’s where the money is in MK: New consultant orders.
You’ve probably given up & quit by now. Please don’t blame yourself. It’s the “system’s” fault. Customers don’t want to buy Mary Kay. It’d be a bit like thinking if only you chose better slot machines at the casino, you would have made money, not lost.
“I am a new Mary Kay consultant of roughly a month’s experience…”
I’ll be sure to give your words all due consideration. So I’m heading off to Lowe’s for Easter flowers and washers for the bathroom faucet.
Good luck with your plumbing adventures.
The spelling and punctuation are throwing me off. This person seems smart. Sometimes, you just have to let them figure it out on their own…In the words of Captain Picard, “It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose…”
Loki If it were easy, everyone would do it.
Every year we see via the Canadian Income Disclosure how few people are making money in the only way Mary Kay Corp recognises from their downlines orders.
PTC, there is a reason that 99.6% of participants fail to turn a profit in MLM regardless of effort. You could clone the most successful MK consultant, and fill the sales ranks with these clones, and the loss rates would not change.
You see, the downline losses are what fund the corporation and the profits at the very top of the pyramid. The losses are built right into the MLM model! In traditional companies, it is possible for everyone involved to make positive net income. In MLMs, the downline must lose money in the aggregate for the system to function. The high churn you mention is not only good for MK but is actually necessary for MLMs like Mary Kay to function.
You still have time to return your inventory and run far away from this fake opportunity. When the light of truth shines brightly enough for you to see through the pink fog, come on back here to share your story.
“to disallow people who have made a successful go of it to post all the good they do, or to simply defend themselves” There is a standing offer … if you are really making money, send the site owner your tax returns and business info to prove it.
Come back in a year and let us know how you are doing.
I don’t believe she’s made ANY money in her first month!
Does this new consultant know the Mary Kay building is up for sale? Red Flag Alert!
Family members suing each other, Richard Rogers dies, Ryan and Richard were publicly feuding about money (and lots of it!), and now the building for sale.
If your spidey sense is not going off, honey, you deserve everything that comes your way.
I am a new Mary Kay consultant of roughly a month’s experience,
So, naturally, you know everything about Mary Kay and how MLMs work.
and I just discovered your website today when seeking information on how to “warm chat” if you’re plagued with paralyzing shyness.
Maybe choosing a “career” where you have to force faux friendships isn’t going to be your best fit.
I’m glad I didn’t know about Pink Truth before today, because I may not have signed up with MK if I had seen all the negativity being splattered all over your site.
Good, we want women to think critically about the types of fauxpotunities.
It’s one thing to lay out “truths” (which are completely subjective)
What is subjective about showing screenshots of what the directors are talking about behind closed doors especially when it comes to loading up inexperienced consultomers with soon to be discontinued products? What is subjective about showing the Canadian Income Disclosure for 2025?
https://www.pinktruth.com/2026/03/02/pathetic-income-for-sales-directors-in-2025/
Women’s, and men’s for that matter, “I-Stories” may sound “subjective” but when several follow exactly the same pattern, you have to stop and think critically about what is happening behind closed doors.
for unwitting newbees in an attempt to ward them off of the “evil corporation” that is Mary Kay, but to disallow people who have made a successful go of it to post all the good they do,
The women here who were successful in terms defined by Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company have often posted about the various skills they learned while in the company.
or to simply defend themselves and the company is absolutely disgusting.
This is Tracy’s site and she decides what to publish. One day a week, Friday, she publishes e-mails or comments like yours. That’s more than all the pro-Mary Kay sites allow. However, there is a whole internet out there should you wish to add another sycophantic echo chamber.
Yes, there happens to be a very large turnaround for Mary Kay independent Beauty Consultants, but it is also true that if a woman has a negative experience working with Mary Kay, it is her OWN fault!
“I love the smell of victim blaming in the morning”. Except MKC’s own figures refute that immediately. So do the FTC’s. MLMs are designed to fail the overwhelming number of people at the bottom in order to enrich the micro-percentage of those who successfully bamboozle other people.
When I signed up (I sought out my personal consultant and asked how to join because I needed another career option and some extra money), I was warned that to make a career out of my Mary Kay business, actual work was required.
So is losing your integrity, morals and ethics. You’ll quickly learn to lie to your nearest and dearest but hey that $0 per annum before expenses is SO going to be worth it!
I believed that, and I’m taking it seriously, and I know that if I fail at this, the onus is mine.
Oh dear! Already in Victim Blaming 101.
Starting out, I haven’t made much money yet…
Spoilers, sweetie…the chances are very high that you will never make much money.
But I haven’t regretted taking this leap to better myself and my situation for one moment.
When you do, we will be here to help.
Wrinkles to you
There’s that gently rebuking “Go Give” positive energy that feminina Maria Kay loves to spread around.
for slandering
1) it’s “slandering” when speaking and “libel” when writing/publishing
2) it’s neither when it’s true or opinion.
a company that has helped so many people, and continues to do so.
MKC exists to make money for it’s founders and their heirs. Very few of their IBCs make a red cent.
You can keep your snark and your cynicism;
Gee Thanks /S
I’ll take the money and the friends I’m making and all the opportunities in front of me,
I’ve already shown you proof that you won’t be earning much money and the opportunities are going to be slim.
and I won’t give your sad little website a second thought.
Oh you will.
What is the likelihood that she’s already deep in debt?
“MKC exists to make money for its founders and their heirs.”
And it doesn’t even do that anymore. Per the Rogers vs Rogers lawsuit Mary Kay hasn’t paid a dividend to the owners since 2022. The only way MK is making the owners money is by them selling off the company assets.
I think I’d rather have wrinkles than get sucked into a money losing situation. With all info out there now, you’ve got to be a special kind of gullible.
