Best Mary Kay Year Ever!
Every year in Mary Kay is the “best year ever” for the old timers. Our friend Kristin Sharpe is so excited because her unit “did million” for the 12th time. And they made it look effortless. Her social media caption that was written by AI crowed about all the records broken and how this is a MOVEMENT. (Could there ever be a more AI caption?)
Last year it was all about doing million for the 11th time in her career. And it was even more amazing because she was bedridden during her pregnancy and her area stepped up!
These kinds of milestones are celebrated as a group achievement. But what was really achieved by the group? NOTHING. When a unit “does one million,” it means that something around $500,000 wholesale was ordered and paid for by the consultants in the unit. They put half a million dollars on their credit cards, stacked the products in garages and basements, and profited little to nothing.
This achievement is about Kristin’s paycheck and bragging rights. That’s what it’s always about.
Well… it’s also about continuing to give the impressions that “this business works when you do.” If someone can have a level of success in Mary Kay, then “anyone” can do it. Right? Wrong. Yes, in theory anyone could do it. In reality, 99% of people lose money in MLM. Those losses aren’t because people are lazy or unmotivated or doing it wrong. It’s because MLM is a system that guarantees almost everyone will lose.
But celebrating these meaningless achievements is how Mary Kay Inc. has continued to profit from its elaborate scam for more than 60 years. Consistently reinforce the false idea that if you just work hard enough, you too could have success in this “business.” Anyone who does not succeed is a victim of their own failure.
And if you’re one of the winners who makes money? You’ve done it off the backs of a whole bunch of people who lost money. You shouldn’t feel good about that.
Does her mouth close?
Believe me, the featured image on the front page was very nearly “muppet mouth”.
Why do the MK bots pose for every group photo with their arms and hands extended? What’s that about? Asking for handouts?
Do they ever say how much of the inventory actually got sold to third party buyers/non-Mary Kay consultants? Shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
It’s amazing how many Mary Kay products are available for sale in Nigeria and other African countries.
Amazing, indeed.
