How Many National Sales Directors Are Left in Mary Kay?

NOTE: We’ll update our running list as we get more information….

As of July 1, 2025, there were 122 active national sales directors in Mary Kay Cosmetics. In December, one new nsd was added to the roster, Missy O’Neal. That made 123 national sales directors, the lowest number in decades.

But massive changes (i.e. cost-cutting measures) at Mary Kay led to a whole bunch of nsds quitting as of January 1, 2026. A total of 17 nsds were announced as official retirements, as shown at Mary Kay’s leadership conference:

In addition, we’ve got 12 nsds who seem to have gone missing. They aren’t on the Mary Kay website anymore and social media digging hasn’t (yet) found anything.

The big question is how many national sales directors are left? It seems that some on the above list may have left the company but weren’t eligible for the retirement program, so they were not recognized by MK at Leadership during the retirement segment. I’d love to verify the above 20 women one-by-one (maybe with their social media?) to see who is in and who is out.

What we know is this: Somewhere between 17 and 29 women who were national sales directors last year are no longer with the company. Numbers are dropping fast.

An nsd leaving Mary Kay is VERY good for the company because it cuts down the amount of money going out the door each month. Surely those who are left in the company will use the number as a badge of honor. It signifies just how EXCLUSIVE the title is.

No, it signifies that you don’t own a business and you can’t leave yet or you get zero. You’re hanging on for dear life and hoping that the company doesn’t meet its demise for another 10 or 20 years.

Some of the women retiring were at their mandatory retirement age. But many were not there yet. They are women who used to be “lifers” in Mary Kay, until they saw the writing on the wall. Mary Kay is in a death spiral and with a clown like Ryan Rogers at the helm, the odds of them coming out of it are low. Just ask Ryan’s dad.

  1. They are still listed as active.
They will move to emeritus after Leadership.
This is a 28% reduction. Almost 1/3 is eye opening. They know what’s coming. They are taking what they can get at this point.

  2. I don’t think there will be any more NSDs. It’s already nearly impossible to make it because trying to grind enough directors who survive long enough before washing out is like tapdancing up an avalanche.

In the meantime, the existing ones benefit the company because of their units ordering truckloads of useless junk… I mean, stretching production and keeping the money flowing uphill. Suing your own family and being sued is expensive.

I’d bet serious cash money that whatever they’re planning for later this year will involve yoinking the rug right out from under the remaining NSDs, if not the whole pyramid.

Get cracking on those life and business coaching businesses, ladies. And since those won’t work either, learn how to write a resume.

  3. If memory serves, Tehrie Brinkley-Ned is a nurse practitioner, and she kept her license and certifications active while active as an NSD. If that is her “fall back” position, she will make more money as an NP than an NSD.

  4. If anyone finds any mistakes on this list – please please let me know!!! I have it in a google sheet. I uploaded the names from the time Mary Kay eliminated the Ruby division and I checked every single one to see if they had an active myshop.

    • YES! Anyone who can help research would be much appreciated. Just put your findings with links in the comments here and we can check things out and update as we go. (I may not get to more updates until tonight, though.)

  5. I’m sure they all have access to the same info about what’s ahead. Why wouldn’t they all retire at the same time?! Maybe that would be too eye opening for the rest of the consultants? Woops!

    • There are a few main reasons why I think more aren’t retiring:
      1. Many don’t qualify for the retirement plan yet, so they’d get zero if they left the company. Better to stay in and collect commissions.
      2. Many don’t believe that the company could be massively failing, and they believe they’ll be nsds forever.
      3. Some see the writing on the wall but hope they’re wrong and want to hold on as long as possible.

        • Yes, minimum 5 years as nsd, but if you have less than 15 years as nsd, you also have to be at least 55 years old to get anything. Once you complete 15 years as an nsd, you get the whole thing, which is 60% of your final average commissions.

Final average commissions = best 3 of last 5 calendar years of personal team commissions + nsd commissions
This calculation excludes other commissions from their personal unit (In other words, you generally don’t get retirement benefits from your personal unit, only from your personal team and the entire nsd commission from your area.)

  6. ALL those NSD;s you listed are still on the MK website. Its one thing to report real truthful info, but embellish? Isn’t that why this website was created to report the truth? We do not want to have behavior of that which we condemn. There is no need to lie.

    • Oh shut up. One of our members went through and looked for their websites (i.e. My Shop) and did not find them. No one is lying. Read more carefully. And if you have information to share, then share it. If you have only insults, you can go elsewhere.

    • Do you have screenshots or links? I went through the list of 122 NSD’s one by one and could not find these 20. Please show me how I was wrong. I’d love to correct.

    • Yes, if my understanding is correct. I understand that MK purchases an annuity when the nsd retires, so their monthly check comes from the annuity company. If this is true, then it doesn’t matter what happens to MK.

  7. I know (because I still have people there) that the ones from the “Invencible” group are still there: Bianny, Dayana, Mariana, Yudith Pupo, Angel, Yosemy, Mairelys, and lastly, Jannelik. Buuuuut, I really don’t think that would last, they are loosing directors in their areas and their “super packed” events and conferences in South Miami aren’t packed at all. Bianny’s niece decided to resigned from the Directorship like two months ago, after having a whole hall clapping at her because she was only 19 and was the youngest director of their area. We will see… but the ship is wrecking.

    • I think this is common across the board right now. Directors are dropping fast. Based on photos and videos being posted about leadership, it looks like the number of attendees are low in comparison to past years. Like the glam party and luncheon looked a bit empty across several posts. I also noticed at bunch of directors from the area I was in have lost directorship or didn’t even bother attending the conference at all. Only time will tell!

      • “didn’t even bother attending the conference”

Why should they leave their families to hear the same spiels and see the same people? Just for “moto, info, inspo, and reco.”

Mary Kay’s independent sales force spends thousands of dollars (of their own money) to attend these never-ending events…January Jumpstart, Leadership, Career Conference, Spring Summit, Seminar, Fall Retreat, and many more.

Looking at the Leadership pics, I see women at the “special party” eating finger-foods, drinking Dr. Pepper from a can, and probably yelling at each other over the sound of the band.

        No, thank you.

    • LOL I am watching the people on stage with her. Her son specifically. Nobody looks particularly fired up haha… maybe glad the whole charade is over

  8. Wow. Dacia. A blast from the past. I remember reading PT when you started covering her antics like 20 years ago. Wow. I am now 43.
