Another great comment on a recent post. We really need to just move on, don’t you think?

I genuinely hope you all find peace and maybe a hobby you enjoy, because it sounds like you’re still very bitter about your Mary Kay experience. It’s sad to see grown women dwell so much on something from their past instead of taking responsibility for their own failures. I mean this kindly: Maybe try focusing on your own shortcomings instead of tearing down a business that empowers so many others. Wishing you healing.

  1. “I genuinely hope you all find peace…”

At the end of each month and especially at the end of June, you will find far more peace here than you will find in the hearts of those chasing the Mary Kay dream.

  2. “I mean this kindly” is one of those phrases like “I’m not a bigot, but…” where people try to hide their nastiness under a thin veneer of nice, like a fresh coat of paint on a rotten, termite-infested chunk of wood. Helpful hint: neither works.

Following your crappiness with the wish for healing makes this into the so-called “compliment sandwich,” wherein one tries to deliver criticism by hiding it between two pleasant sentiments, like an Oreo stuffed with a urinal puck. That doesn’t work, either; it makes the recipient feel condescended to, like they can’t take honest criticism and need to be handled daintily.

I was never in MK. I have fun hobbies. I am at peace with my past and my personal weaknesses. I understand that failure is an inevitable side effect of being human, and the way to face it is to accept it, learn from it, and move forward without dwelling on it or going on Facebook crying about how I suck at life. I would way the hell rather spend my time here with the folks who have had the courage to leave the bubble and be honest about what they felt and experienced than with, well, you and your teddy bear made of razor blades ilk.

  3. This week’s letter writer (and all critics of Pink Truth) completely miss the mark. ” Maybe try focusing on your own shortcomings instead of tearing down a business that empowers so many others.” The MLM “business” model is being explained. The founder of Pink Truth and the posters are familiar with Mary Kay (many having “climbed the ladder of success”). This site provides readers with the facts concerning MLM recruitment tactics and details regarding retention of “sales associates” (beauty consultants, fashion coordinators, or any other names used). MLMs only empower a few through the exploitation of many!

  4. The writer has completely missed the point. It’s not about being bitter. It’s about warning people that they will almost certainly lose money in a rigged system.

    • Man all the cars I earned and bar pins and prizes and guilt I felt getting people to work and buy inventory so I could enjoy all those things.. all I needed was this clown to wish me healing. Where’s she been the last few years as I’ve tried to do just that.

Maam you’ll face that debt or your director will screw you over soon enough and you’ll leave the dark side.

  5. I genuinely hope you all find peace and maybe a hobby you enjoy,

Honestly, should I take up a hobby I don’t enjoy just to spite you??

because it sounds like you’re still very bitter about your Mary Kay experience.

Did you know that women are allowed to show the so-called negative emotions? Anger, hate, resentful?

Bitterness, the act of being bitter, being accused of being bitter always sounds to me like a deflection. “Stop making ME feel bad because of how YOU were treated.”

It’s sad to see grown women dwell so much on something from their past instead of taking responsibility for their own failures.

Or we could put the spotlight back on a system which enables the many abuses committed by women who at one time sincerely thought that they were doing good but but that was eroded by the desperate scrambling for the reflected glory of NSD-hood.

    I mean this kindly:

Look, I’m trying to make MYSELF feel better here.

Maybe try focusing on your own shortcomings instead of tearing down a business that empowers so many others.

Guess what?? I have proof from Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s own company that proves you are lying!

    Wishing you healing.

Wishing you to be less of a condescending bench.

  6. Maybe try this:
I have a successful art following (hobby? But much more than that)
And I do co own a (real) business with my husband (global company) and we hold *actual* world records with our product.

Maybe I am bitter from my lack of success (directorship & car)?

I couldn’t possibly have seen the flaw in the SYSTEM.
I bet you can’t say you employ dozens of families?
I’m sorry your “small business” is about to go affiliate on you. (Wait… but don’t business owners have control over all of that??”.

Stop worrying about us and go do a 20:20 (like I did before I made the decision to leave mk.
