Angela Rebhun is a Mary Kay consultant with a problem. A realtor she met at a networking event took a Secret Santa gift and never paid her the $30 she’s owed! She has sold MILLION dollar homes.

Angela asked for help in the Facebook group Let’s Talk Pink. Here are some of the responses. Gayle Ziegler suggests meeting her at her next open house. Denise Calabrese thinks Angela should call her office one more time. If she doesn’t hear back within 3 days, escalate to her boss!

Cynthia Lewis states she always collects half of the order up front. That way, if she doesn’t receive payment she’s at least covered her wholesale cost.

Lori Post shares that Angela has already spent too much time thinking of this $30 and to go out and find the next $30. She can claim this on her taxes.

Julie Villumsen helpfully adds that this is stealing.

Kathi Bogan declares that Angela should send her one more receipt. If she doesn’t pay within the time frame, take it to social media!

Paula Bouck recommends showing up to her office to demand payment, as well as tagging her on social media. Sarah Myers once had this issue with a friend she’s had for more than 20 years. The friend finally paid and included a tip for being late. She also thanked Sarah for giving her the courage to wear lipstick again.

Deb Kruske would mail a note without a return address – the secretary must then deliver it to the realtor. Please also put a lot of smiley faces on the letter.

Now I don’t really know what happened at this Secret Santa event. Could it be that this realtor didn’t know she was expected to pay for this bag? Was the product in the bag fresh product or had it been sitting on Angela’s shelf for a while? How good can the rest of Angela’s sales be if she’s this concerned over a missing $30?

Unfortunately, non paying customers are a fact of life for all businesses, large or small. Hopefully Angela learns from this loss and doesn’t lose out on $30 ($15 wholesale) again.

    • You know it was a couple of junky old products she couldn’t sell and no where near worth $30. It’s tacky to give MLM products. Angela needs to get a grip and stop looking crazy.

  1. If Angela is reporting correctly, the realtor did know she was supposed to pay since she promised to send the money through Zelle. If. In that case, it is indeed theft, whether it was old junk or a misunderstanding or whatever. It would be worth 30 bucks to make Angela go away.

    Angela, tone down the blush. While it does suit your angry face in a cartoonish way, the color is all wrong for your skintone and looks like sunburn. And since you’ve “cointed” this as a loss on your taxes, don’t get greedy. Certainly don’t go posting it online, because nothing on the internet is ever truly secret. As shown here, for example. Audits happen.

    Businesswomen, stop softening your business communications with emojis and exclamation points and servile language. Anyone who’s threatened or offended by a straightforward email or letter from a woman is the one with issues, not you. I doubt Ms Big Bucks Realtor is all like “Hello, Rich Person!! ☺️ If it’s not too much trouble, the lawyer 🧑‍💼👩‍💼 asked me if you could possibly sign 🖊 a few papers in order to make this happen! So if you have a minute ⏰️…”

    And stop pronouncing it “real-it-or.” Drives me bonkers.

    Angela’s behavior is one reason Lane Meyer thought he would be “Better Off Dead”! Now I will never be able to watch that movie without thinking of Angela Redhun!

    While I get that it’s also the principle of the thing and it certainly is f’d up of anyone to “promise” to pay and not only fail to follow through, but to ignore subsequent “reminders” for payment (hmm, I wonder if her number is blocked…) however, if she’s this bent out of shape over what amounts to a $15 loss, she’s got waaay more problems than she realizes.

    The suggestions to “blast her all over social media” and “call her boss” (if she had one) over $30 are sooo obnoxious and out of proportion to the “offense,” it’d only make HER look bad. Besides, who knows what kinda old product was even in it? My guess is it was useless crap she couldn’t sell outright (not unlike the rest of MK’s overpriced inferior junk). How disappointing to be the recipient of THAT bag…

    The ones suggesting she let karma do its thing are ironic…I wonder how much more than $30 has ol’ Ang squeezed out of recruits over the years? Maybe this IS “karma doing its thing…

  5. If you look at Angela’s MK profile, she’s in MK for the second time. She didn’t learn from the first time.

    As for the $30 loss, she should be happy it was only 30 bucks. Continuing to make a fuss won’t help her.

  6. I’m on Angela’s side on this. Regardless of what we think about Mary Kay, MK products and consultants, this realtor agreed to pay and didn’t and is actively avoiding her.

    THIS IS THEFT.

    Angela absolutely should pursue this. Many major retailers have a zero tolerance policy and have anyone who walks past the last point of sale without paying arrested. Mary Kay sellers shouldn’t have to tolerate thieves either. (Watch some shoplifting police bodycam videos on YouTube, it’s wild what these people try to get away with e.g. stuffing fresh meat down their underwear.)

    Angela, if you or one of your MK friends is reading this, keep all of your messages and emails as evidence, message her again. Go to her next open house. If she does not pay, FILE A POLICE REPORT. The cops might not do anything to recover the item but it starts a paper trail. Who knows who else this thieving realtor has ripped off. I bet this realtor will show up on a shoplifting police bodycam video one day.
