Why You Must Go to Seminar THIS YEAR

Every single year, we hear the same chant from Mary Kay sales directors: THIS is the year you have to go to Seminar in Dallas. This is supposed to be your year. You can’t miss this celebration.

But why the frantic push to attend this year’s event? Simple. With the massive turnover in Mary Kay, there’s a good chance most people in your unit won’t even be around next year. For the director, this is her one shot to drag you deeper into the pink fog. If she doesn’t convince you now, odds are she never will.

Seminar is the ultimate love bomb. It’s designed to stir up so much excitement and FOMO that you can’t help but whip out your credit card. Most women come home fired up and immediately place big product orders they don’t really need. But the high wears off quickly (usually within a few weeks) when reality sets in again. The reality that this business model fails almost everyone.

Seminar is also another chance for Mary Kay to pile on more of the same empty slogans. How often have we heard that “business has never been better”? Yet when anyone dares to ask for proof, Mary Kay politely declines to share real data.

Every year, the “you can do it” rally cries sound identical. Every year, it’s the same guilt trip to do more before Seminar so you can “celebrate your success.” And if you think I’m exaggerating, here’s an actual excerpt from a training piece used by MK directors:

You have exactly 31 days left in this seminar year.

Let’s face it – this is the last mile of a very long marathon year. This is where you either get real and get serious or you spend the next year consoling yourself and justifying why you “couldn’t” make it happen. And I know you don’t want to live with that kind of regret.

To get it done, you need to focus on only two things:

    • selling product
    • recruiting consultants

When you focus on a specific thing, it means you do not focus on anything else. You table, postpone, decline, or delegate anything that isn’t directly involved with selling product and recruiting consultants.

For the next 31 days, any time you are not talking to a woman you don’t already know, you are letting something else decide your destiny.

Be absolutely, down-right UNreasonable about winning in a big way. This is the time to play full-out.

Your attitude is a choice. Your behavior is a choice.

If just for these next 31 days, choose that full-force, give me more, can’t touch this, “you so need to meet me” attitude that you’ve always wanted to have.

This last month may mean the difference between winning a car or not, between going on the trip or not, or between finally becoming a National–or not. You can DO this! Don’t let ANYTHING get in the way. There will be days when you don’t know if you can do it, but there will be a lifetime of knowing that you did!

You want it. You can see it. You can taste it.

For the next 31 days, your future hangs on your choices. Will you choose what you want now or what you want most?

Now is your time.

No more waiting.

No more excuses.

Before you pack your bags for Dallas or spend another dime chasing someone else’s idea of success, ask yourself: Who really benefits when you go “all in”? Is it you, or is it the people who profit off your hope and your credit card?

Take a step back and look at the pattern. Year after year, it’s the same script, the same pressure, the same promises that this time will be different. But the truth is, the only thing that changes is how much more you’re expected to spend.

You deserve better than a business model that thrives on guilt, manipulation, and your exhaustion. You deserve honesty. You deserve respect. And you deserve to decide for yourself whether the confetti and rah rah are worth the cost.

  1. And the one thing they hide at all cost? The fact that you can’t make real money in MLM without significant aggregate losses in your own downline. You benefit directly from the losses of your recruits…the more they lose, the greater your gain.

It is mathematically impossible for even 1% of MLM participants to turn a profit. Research shows that for every person turning even a meager MLM profit, 249 others must be losing money, on average.

Think about this in light of the claims to be “helping” women as you build this money-losing downline. The primary purpose of recruiting in any MLM is to create a pool of downline losers large enough to generate a profit at your level. No MLM downline can be profitable as a whole, due to this very nature of funneling money (from losses) upline.

Not exactly something to take pride in even if you mange to do this successfully. Shame on those at the top who flaunt such success.

  2. To get it done, you need to focus on only two things:

    selling product
    recruiting consultants

Except we know it’s not selling product, It’s ordering products since sales aren’t tracked only orders are.

  3. Emphasis on “it’s the business model that fails, not you”. Because they will swear up and down it’s the person, and not the pyramid.

  4. OK. This is weird. My old address isn’t working on the comments here ..
Kimberly Perkins explains why she was fired from MK. I don’t know is it just me or independent contractors aren’t supposed to be able to get fired?

You want to know why I was terminated from Mary Kay a full year after I stepped down as a Sales Director?
Because they enforced a clause in my agreement that said I wasn’t allowed to even talk to the women I had built deep, genuine friendships with over the years. I was expected to walk away from the sisterhood I had poured into simply because I was no longer part of the
“club.” Friendships-cut off. Community-gone. All in the name of policy.
You want to know why Melaleuca terminated me?
Because Policy 20 wouldn’t allow me to pursue another passion God had placed on my heart alongside promoting their brand. I wasn’t recruiting anyone. I wasn’t badmouthing the company. I was simply trying to follow the Lord’s leading into digital marketing, but that was enough for them to not only terminate me—but strip me of THREE trips I had earned. Now when they took it away, you better believe I said something to protect my people and my peace!
Two companies. Two ball and chains! Both trying to control what God was trying to release.
Listen-if you know me, you know I’m loyal to the core.
But if a company can’t stand behind their people, then I can’t stand with that company.
I was terrified to even mention Bellame publicly at first-terrified-because I was warned to keep it
“quiet,” to share in private groups only, to avoid stepping on toes or shaking up “friendships”.
    But you know what?
    This is different.

    Dul yuu Kiluv vilal:
    This is different.
Because here—the brand is ME. It’s my voice. My values. My boutique. I don’t answer to an outdated, manipulative policy—| answer to God.
Bellame’s Omni-Marketing model gives me the freedom to build a brand that aligns with who I am and who I serve. I’m no longer shrinking back to keep someone else comfortable. I’m no longer silencing my calling for the sake of someone else’s control.
And if you’ve ever felt God pulling you somewhere-but a company or policy kept you frozen in fear-this is your sign.
If you’ve been warned, guilted, or manipulated into staying in a system that doesn’t allow you to grow-this is your freedom post.
Because sometimes, when we won’t close the door, God will slam it shut and lock it-for our own protection.
I’m not bitter. I’m better. And I’m free.
Don’t stay where God has already moved on from just because you’re afraid of what others will say. If the opportunity was really that good, people wouldn’t be secretly searching for something more fulfilling.
    It’s 2025. We don’t do chains anymore.
    We do calling.
    We do freedom.
    We do purpose.
    Let’s go.
Peen my little fish swimmina their hearts out!

Some advice for Kimberly Perkins : if you’re gonna sell clothes on Facebook at least invest and take your own photos and not use the photos from Temu, Alibaba, SHEIN etc where you buy them from because it’s easy to Google reverse search and see where the original came from
