Heather Wickstrom Is Worried About the Mary Kay Sales Force

Written by Parsons Green

Heather Wickstrom, a terminated Mary Kay sales director and an old friend of Pink Truth, posted that she is concerned “the #1 direct sales beauty brand” is going to eliminate their sales force. Tupperware began selling their product at Target. Customers stopped buying from their reps. This erases the trust reps have in their company.

Mary Kay consultants immediately clapped back at her in the comments. Jenn Adams says that Mary Kay will only be on Amazon so the company can remove unauthorized sellers. Heather admits that most of the products online are from consultants who overstocked product or ordered to earn court recognition. Heather believes that the company is moving towards retail, affiliate, or even an acquisition. Even though Heather is no longer in Mary Kay, she believes the consultants should know. Sharon Spencer is irritated with Heather. Heather’s no longer in Mary Kay and spends too much time Mary Kay bashing. Sharon’s been in Mary Kay for 49 years. Heather should focus on the products she’s selling.

Stacy Leann agrees with Heather. Too many directors encourage their downline to order too much inventory. Heather says the company is aware. If someone buys Mary Kay product, they own it and can resell it wherever and however they want it. She also states she doesn’t believe Amazon will do anything about the resellers. Stacy then mentions how directors give Temu and Shien products for ordering recognition that only cost them pennies on the dollar. Heather brings up the adopt a grandparent hustle and says that it’s always the consultant who has to give up their profit. Never Mary Kay.

Kelli Hudson-Key wonders why 36 nsds recently took early retirement. Other direct selling companies have been cutting any expense they can, especially commissions paid to the uplines. She believes the sales force as it is now will be eliminated in the next six months.

Sandra Kay Conner jumps in to question Heather’s integrity. What ethical concerns did she overlook to earn her 9 Cadillacs? If her new company is so great, why does she consistently feel the need to bash Mary Kay? If she had to work so hard to earn a Cadillac, maybe she should have been content to settle for the Equinox.

Heather replies that she doesn’t blame the company, she just wants to share her personal experience. Sandra Kay then adds that any failures she’s had in Mary Kay are all her fault, not corporate.

Kathy Brinley reminds everyone that the #1 designation is based on inventory orders to consultants. Mary Kay does no tracking of retail sales to customers. She is sitting on thousands of dollars of unsold inventory.

Isn’t it rich that NOW Heather says that Mary Kay’s real customer is the consultant???

Heather Wickstrom will tell you whatever she needs to in order to sell her current scam. She only left Mary Kay because they terminated her. If she were still there, she’d be praising Ryan Rogers and his outlook for the company. I wonder what she’ll say about Bellame if they were to go under next?

  1. While I would certainly miss all the wonderful discussion with the great folks here at PT, the thought of MKC abandoning their MLM distribution model brings me great joy!

Once they have eliminated the MLM and are behaving like a proper producer/retailer, I wish the company well with hopes of success for all involved. Just imagine this new world where EVERYONE involved with Mary Kay is compensated for their efforts and are all making positive money!

    This makes me smile.

  2. My goodness! The responses to her show people will defend the company at no end.

I’m convinced the Amazon storefront and MyShop update has to be for market testing. The reality is they are trying to test the brand value and true consumer interest in the products. Both sites will give them analytics to assess if there is a true customer outside of consultants, consumer behaviors, and top ordered products to see if they could sustain the business on fewer products. My guess is their next move will be more digital ads to increase brand visibility and some sort of campaign focused on easy online ordering options.

If an IBC is reading this, I truly hope you put yourself first and get a plan in place and prepare to move on! Denial will not serve you well and the leadership is putting the company first. I’m sure there are skills you have that could take you much further and fairly compensate you for your work without some of the stressors you’re probably facing now.

  3. My guess is she’s trying to lure people away from MK before the switch to affiliate.

When she was kicked out of MK she rose high in Bellame very quickly because of poaching her old MK downline. By now I’ll bet most of them have washed out, because the odds of sucess in any MLM are just as minuscule as they are in MK. She needs some fresh meat to reinvigorate her “career”.

Not to mention that she’s still pouting about her dismissal and seems to have made it her life’s work to try and hurt MK somehow. Note that her Bellame propaganda isn’t about how great the company and products are but how bad MK is.

Don’t fall for it. Bellame is a smaller company and doesn’t have MK’s brand name recognition. Even less people are going to want to buy or join, and you’ll be right back to having heaps of unsold inventory and no money.

If you’re disgruntled with MK, hurt them where it hurts by returning your inventory… and then go do anything besides chasing the MLM dream.

  4. The right people aren’t watching her page for her to make any difference in anyone’s decisions. She needs to just focus on hustling people to her current money pit.

  5. If/ when MK goes affiliate, what happens to all the retired NSDs who are drawing from their Family Security Program? Would MK be legally responsible to continue to pay that $ out to them?

  6. Flails Kermit style
Ladies, the more you rush to defend Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Louis Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s fauxpotunity, the more it looks like you can’t. You keep reinforcing what the anti-MLM people are saying about the MLM/NWM/DS business model.
