I Put in 40 Hours and Bring Home $1,000 Per Week

Another Pink Truth critic thinks that if we had spent as much time on Mary Kay as we do on Pink Truth, we would have found success.

LOL!! Wow reading this site saddens me! I have been in mary Kay for less thana year have a free car which isn’t hard to maintain to keep.

I put in less time than most women who have to work away from the home and my senior director has never pressured me or made me feel as though I had to do anything I did not want to do. I am a director now and have never pressured anyone to buy inventory and explain that this is like any other business out there you have to build a client base and grow a team but as a director I do not ask anyone to buy inventory unless they feel they can put in the same amount of time they would for a part time job (20 hours a week or so) .

I am thinking the complaints on this site are coming from women who thought that they could do Mary Kay and get rich quick and not have to put forth effort.

It is like any job you do if you don’t work at it it wont grow. If you dont get out of your comfort zone and meet new people then you wont grow your customers. I think if you spent as much timein your mary Kay business as you do this blog you would probably have succeeded.

I make all of my kids activites, clean my own house and put my famiyl first, go to Uganda twice a year and still make double what I was before I did Mary Kay working full time and not being able to be there for my kids.

Maybe you had a bad experience and a director who lead you wrong and pressured you but I have not had that experience and know hwo to manage my time so that I can live by the philosphies Faith, Family then career.

Yes I put 40 hours in a week right now but I also bring home over $1000 a week as a brand new director and have earned a free car.

Geez I don’t really have much to more to say just that you oviously had a bad experience and instead of blaming the company maybe you should look at who your director was and how they did things because I know that the things you state on here are not true and anyone who is not lazy and willing to step out of their comfort zone even just a little can make this work for them.

BY the way I have lots of consultants that have not purchased any inventory and make a steady $1000 extra a month just actually working 5-10 hours a week so it is actually possible with the right leadership!

  1. PTC: I don’t believe you.

You lack the specifics which would shed light on how you are doing this. MK platitudes don’t count. You also lack the business vocabulary that normally comes with small-business success.

How much of your income is from product sales and how much is from bonus/commissions? How much are you paying in estimated quarterly taxes? How big is your downline?

You made the income claims. Prove them by sharing your Sched C from last year.

    • Not believing it either- NO WAY is she selling $2000 worth of products A WEEK and/or her downline selling that much.

Not in today’s internet world. Mary Kay is NOT a hot product women are buying.

  2. Another cliché storm from a n00b out to school former longtime directors, Cadillac drivers, and almost NSDs on the basis of a year’s experience.

It’s like someone thinking they can win the World Series of Poker because they won a few hands of Crazy Eights.

Honey, you have a quota to sell in order “to maintain to keep”, it’s not “a free car”!

I put in less time than most women who have to work away from the home

According to US government figures the average weekly wage for a woman in full time employment is $1,170. However, it does not say how many hours that it is for. So, you are earning an average wage not an executive’s wage like you were promised.

I guess we will have to take your word or that.

I am a director now and have never pressured anyone to buy inventory

    Really??

and explain that this is like any other business out there you have to build a client base and grow a team but as a director I do not ask anyone to buy inventory unless they feel they can put in the same amount of time they would for a part time job (20 hours a week or so) .

So, you are pressurising women to buy inventory!

I am thinking the complaints on this site are coming from women who thought that they could do Mary Kay and get rich quick and not have to put forth effort.

If that was you impression, I’d suggest you read more stories especially the ones with screenshots from directors groups, i.e. your peers where they talk about how hard it is to “book, sell, book, recruit ” or why does the company change things and not tell us!

It is like any job you do if you don’t work at it it wont grow. If you dont (sic) get out of your comfort zone and meet new people then you wont grow your customers.

Or you could get a job where customers come to you or a job with no external customers or any of the hundreds of jobs which don’t rely on “customers” because they are not sales jobs.

I think if you spent as much timein (sic) your mary (sic) Kay business as you do this blog you would probably have succeeded.

Again, you haven’t been reading, these ladies WERE successful, albeit in terms recognised only by Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Miller Hallenbeck Ash’s company.

I make all of my kids activites (sic), clean my own house and put my famiyl (sic) first, go to Uganda twice a year and still make double what I was before I did Mary Kay working full time and not being able to be there for my kids.

Welcome to Late Stage Capitalism. However, for you to make any money in an MLM like Mary Kay 249 other people must lose money. No-one in your up-line will show you this and I doubt that you have the courage to show your down-line it either.

Except your new philosophies are now Mary Kay first, Directors and their cars second, your career third. God has been replaced with Mary Kay and Mammon and your family with a group of rapacious women who see you as a walking wallet.

Yes I put 40 hours in a week right now but I also bring home over $1000 a week as a brand new director and have earned a free car.

You allegedly earn $25 per hour. My daughter earns more than $1000 in her 9-5, 35 hours a week full time job. She works from home so no pesky commuting either. She also has none of the hassle of being a She-E-O of her own business and dealing with all the crud that goes with it!

    It’s not a free car. https://www.pinktruth.com/2026/03/31/the-truth-about-the-mary-kay-car/

Bold mine. Prove ONE thing here is wrong! Prove that Mary Kay’s own income disclosure is wrong. Prove a screenshot of a MK directors’ group is wrong. Prove a husband’s anguish over his wife’s emotional and financial infidelity is wrong. Prove the repeated stories from sales directors who worked tirelessly to keep their treasured car wrong.
You don’t need to go back the full twenty years, just the last three months should find you at least one post that you should be able to disprove with proof.

How can they sell if they don’t have a full cart to sell from? How is MyShop affecting them? How modest you are with your self-praise!

  4. She “takes home” $52,000/year. But does she really? I suspect she’s not accounting for income tax, the money she spent on her inventory, the free product, incentives, and cheap knockoff shit from Temu for prizes.

  5. Yeah…. I don’t believe this rot one bit. You’re so full of it that your eyes are brown.

Even when I was a top seller and moving product like mad, selling $2000 a week was TOUGH and damn near impossible to do each and every week. Produce a Schedule C and prove me wrong.

    14
    • It’s thoroughly impossible to sell $2,000/week every week AND GET FULL PRICE. You can give it away, do BOGOs and sales, and write a bunch off. But that doesn’t help your profit hit $1,000. Unless you’re living in lala land like this nut.

  6. Nope.. this isn’t true. Back in the day- when I was a hustling director, I sold a lot of product consistently. I achieved the National Court of Sales 5 times consecutively and was practically done with my 6th yr when I wised up and took that money and used it on my daughter’s vision therapy. No way did I sell $2000 a week. That is a large volume of product. She states she goes to Uganda 2x a year… perhaps that’s where some of this product is sold? hmm ???

Seriously OP- draft a better story. Prove us wrong- and provide schedule C.

    • “She states she goes to Uganda 2x a year… perhaps that’s where some of this product is sold?”

Bingo! Making “business connections” in non-MK countries makes it easy to move large quantities of product. Gotta think outside the box, right?

In the meantime, Peggy in Paducah believes she can achieve MK success by putting out Lead Boxes and holding skincare classes in the back room of the local VFW.
