A True MK Believer
Comments from a true believer in the Cult of Mary Kay, who has been losing money for 28 years, is in debt because of her MK activities, and just WON’T GIVE UP. She knows what NOT to do because of us!
Hi, I enjoy coming on here every once in awhile, to get inspired from those that got lied to. And from those, like myself who haven’t given up. I’ve been a director, I earned the car (took the cash), I’ve had lots of personal team members (43 at one time). I’ve also lost it all, but not to MK. I did it on my own.
I’m still in, I still have debt (most that I know, do too – so what). In fact I’ve been in for 28 years! I won’t give it up. I’ve been sick most of that time, and recently had back to back surgeries. I don’t know of any one in the corporate world that would hire and keep someone like me as an employee. I work when I can, my mk money goes to bills, and to the charity work I do.
I am grateful for your site. I have seen and learned from you all. It gives me insite on what not to do. I have even chewed out my national and my director. I’ve costed my national a few DIQ in their final months of qualifications, for something that was wrongly done to me. I didn’t want it to happen to them. My last director ( I was moved twice by corp), is now a consultant. She told a consultant I was in last month of car qualification. I called the company and had cancelled that order, and a few others that month. I was so angry!
I just wanted you to know, yes there are a few that won’t give up. Yes, I know a few of my sentences are wrong along with some words. I really don’t give a shit!
I was once told by my current director and NSD, that I shouldn’t write down to anyone my thoughts and concerns (maybe write it down, then throw it away, give it to God)- really! So I make sure that someone reads what I write or in this case type. Because really, do you really care. I thought not.
Have a great day!

Wow, she seems mentally healthy and nice!
“I’m still in, I still have debt (most that I know, do too – so what).” So, when your car needs work, or your water heater goes kerblooey, you’re screwed. I get that most debt is unavoidable: student loans, medical bills, mortgages, but choosing to continue racking up high-interest credit card debt is irresponsible.
“I won’t give it up.” As someone posted here recently, Mt Everest is littered with the corpses of people who wouldn’t give up. You might want to read up on the Sunk Cost Fallacy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_cost#Fallacy_effect
“I’ve been sick most of that time, and recently had back to back surgeries. I don’t know of any one in the corporate world that would hire and keep someone like me as an employee.” Under the Americans with Disabilites Act, it’s illegal to discriminate against an employee due to health, and employers are required to provide reasonable accomodations (like an ergonomic chair if you have back problems, for example.) Of course there are companies who break the law, but that’s on them for being shitty employers, not their employees with health issues. Remote work, where you can work from your presumably comfortable home, is also a thing. A lot of people with health problems choose remote work for that exact reason.

Look, I enjoy a good spite-bomb somewhat more than the average person. However, that kind of behavior tends to indicate a deep dissatisfaction with your situation – it’s lashing out to exercise some small amount of control over a situation you feel not in control of. Everything you’ve written shows that you’re only sticking with it out of stubbornness. It’s the false bravado of a teen who’s swearing they’ve gotten drunk lots of times and didn’t like it, that’s why they’re not drinking (when the reality is they’ve never taken as much as a sip because their parents would ground them until they’re 50, but don’t want to look like a wimp in front of their “friends”.)
There’s no talk about what you enjoy about MK. What do you really get out of it, besides a small amount of cash sometimes?

Well… never ask a redhead to call your bluff (to be fair, I’m blonde and would have done the exact same thing), because here you are on the front page. But still, something made you go against your upline and write your thoughts out to someone not them and not God. Something made you look at the “forbidden” site.
If you’re starting to doubt the Mary Kay Way ™ that’s great and nothing to be ashamed of. Really think about what you’re feeling. It could be the first step on a journey to something better.
Oh, and her director, Nashy-Nash, and all others who prey on sick and vulnerable people like her can go serve themselves up on a platter with roasted parsnips and a generous side of F-you-running.
Pink Truth Critic, if you’re still reading: I would like more details on these experiences, please. I think it would be interesting to hear about.

What was done to you; how exactly did you cost your Nationals DIQs, was it by refusing to order? Can you tell us more about being moved units/ directors by Corp?
The second part…I take it you actually weren’t in your last month of car qualification & were upset your director lied about it so you cancelled some orders just to spite her? Is that right?
Sounds like the pain meds talking…
Hi, I enjoy coming on here every once in awhile, to get inspired from those that got lied to.
Weird hobby, NGL.
And from those, like myself who haven’t given up. I’ve been a director, I earned the car (took the cash),
Good on you for not falling for that rat-trap.
I’ve had lots of personal team members (43 at one time). I’ve also lost it all, but not to MK. I did it on my own.
No, you lost it all because the system is and has always been rigged again the individual.
I’m still in, I still have debt (most that I know, do too – so what).
“So What”???? It’s a stupid way to run a personal business. It just proves that MLKI is enriching itself at the cost of it’s independent beauty consultomers.
In fact I’ve been in for 28 years! I won’t give it up.
Sunk Cost Fallacy.
I’ve been sick most of that time, and recently had back to back surgeries. I don’t know of any one in the corporate world that would hire and keep someone like me as an employee.
You’d be surprised. If you have the education, the skills and the work ethic you’d be surprised at how accommodating companies can be.
I work when I can, my mk (sic) money goes to bills, and to the charity work I do.
What “mk money”? You’ve already told us you’re working at a loss.
I am grateful for your site. I have seen and learned from you all. It gives me insite (sic) on what not to do.
It also tells you what (general) you should do, leave.
I have even chewed out my national and my director. I’ve costed my national a few DIQ in their final months of qualifications, for something that was wrongly done to me. I didn’t want it to happen to them.
It’s good of you to look out for your co-workers but I guess that would make you enemies amongst the up-lines.
My last director ( I was moved twice by corp), is now a consultant. She told a consultant I was in last month of car qualification. I called the company and had cancelled that order, and a few others that month. I was so angry!
I can see why you keep getting moved, you’re affecting your up-lines profits by not enabling some-one else’s loss.
I just wanted you to know, yes there are a few that won’t give up.
You’re happy to throw good money after bad.
Yes, I know a few of my sentences are wrong along with some words. I really don’t give a shit!
And yet, you are strangely defensive for some reason.
I was once told by my current director and NSD, that I shouldn’t write down to anyone my thoughts and concerns (maybe write it down, then throw it away, give it to God)- really!
Yeah, no-one wants the facts out there.
So I make sure that someone reads what I write or in this case type. Because really, do you really care. I thought not.
Again, strangely defensive about something.
Have a great day!
“I still have debt…I’ve been sick most of that time…I work when I can, my mk money goes to bills, and to the charity work I do…. I really don’t give a shit!”
So, how does she live? Disability payments? Who’s paying her bills?
She won’t give up. What is she working toward, more debt? She actually sounds pretty messed up.
It’s a cult. She feels guilty for leaving.
It’s like the Church I was raised in. Members complained vehemently about it, they knew something was “wrong” but, even so, were afraid to leave, and still defended it.
The church I grew up in wasn’t cultish, but the pastors were treated like perfect and infallible paragons who had to be kowtowed to Or Else. In reality they were doing everything from keeping mistresses to embezzling parish funds. It’s not the only reason I have no use for organized religion anymore, but it’s up there.
Plus your status was determined by what mass you went to, where you sat, whether the priest talked to you if he shook your hand on the way out, if you belonged to the Rosary Guild… there ain’t no snobbery like working poor snobbery.
yes there are a few that won’t give up. You know who else wouldn’t give up? The Donner Party. What did it get them? Mostly dead and partly eaten. The members of the party who quit, who changed plans, survived.

Where are the violins?
Pure speculation, but it sounds like Critic may be on disability payments since she can use MK funds to pay bills and for her charity work. That’s about all you could do with it, but only if your other bills are paid by something else, which her remarks about her health make me think she may be on Social Security.
Something is getting her life bills paid, perhaps she does work a W2 job, etc., but being in MK for the “friendships”, if you like the products, all that kind of thing, anything but making money – as long as you don’t expect genuine life supporting money coming in consistently, then I can understand why someone would hang around for all the non-monetary reasons.
But — she recruits. So, regardless, she’s a conscious predator and helping other victims escape a particular form of exploitation doesn’t minimize the karmic debt she’s incurring, year after year, decade upon decade.
