Some of Us Actually Like It
Everytime I read Pink Truth I wonder if any of you ever actually enjoyed Mary Kay. Because I do. I like the products. I like my customers. I like getting together with my unit once a month. It gets me out of the house and I’ve made some really good friends.
No, I’m not driving a pink Cadillac. No, I’m not making six figures. Guess what? I never expected to.
Not everybody joins because they think they’re going to get rich. Some of us just wanted a little side income and a chance to meet people. I don’t understand why that’s so hard for you to believe. You act like everybody in Mary Kay is miserable and being brainwashed, and that just isn’t true.
Honestly, I think some of you need another hobby. You spend so much time proving Mary Kay is terible that I don’t think you notice there are women out here who are perfectly happy doing it. Maybe stop deciding how everybody else is supposed to feel.

Clearly you are not in any director groups or you’d understand. You are using MK as a hobby. Perhaps you have enough income that putting a few thousand on your credit card is no biggie. And if you lose it? Well, you had fun! Most of the rest of us count our nickles and dimes each paycheck and can’t afford to be lied to, manipulated with scripts honed to perfection over the decades, and provided with false income claims. But, if you don’t mind that, more power to you.
Everytime (sic) I read Pink Truth I wonder if any of you ever actually enjoyed Mary Kay.
I’m not sure how you got that impression unless (general) you are taking everything written on the site as being from us and not coming from IBCs and SDs.

Cool, glad for you. I just hope you don’t get dropped the minute you’re no longer earning commissions for your up-line.

Really? Isn’t your Bee-LIE-Ve level high enough? Were you not told that you can earn “executive pay for part-time work”? Just another few “faces” and I’m certain you’ll be swanning around in your free Caddy!

Little to no side income I think you mean unless you want to build a large team to
exploitwork under you. You might earn some money by actually selling MK products but since MKI don’t track external sales, the only “proof” you can offer is what you order, Here’s a comparison of commissions earned by Canadian reps in 2024 and 2025.https://www.pinktruth.com/2026/03/02/pathetic-income-for-sales-directors-in-2025/

If some of you are not “brainwashed”, then why do the words f a woman dead for over twenty years hold out as a standard in a different centaury?
Honestly, I think some of you need another hobby.
No, I have plenty.
You spend so much time proving Mary Kay is terible (sic) that I don’t think you notice there are women out here who are perfectly happy doing it.
Screenshots from director’s groups show otherwise, except for those happy to exploit others for a few cents per item ordered.
Maybe stop deciding how everybody else is supposed to feel.
Fortunately, none of us here at Pink Truth are doing that. Again, you appear to be mistaking what is discussed by directors amongst themselves as coming from us. Generally speaking, the accusations of being “bitter” or “negative” or “angry” come from inside the Pink Bubble and are not only directed at us but also those MKBots who are not “working their business” in such a way as to earn money for their uplines.
I wonder if this is real. The Direct Sellers Association maintains that most MLM participants treat it as a hobby, not a business.
I’ve been a consultant for 5 years. I make minimal money. I have a few clients that are friends that were happy I became a consultant because theirs quit. I do love the products so basically I’m doing this to get 50% off IF I spend $225 a month in wholesale and now you don’t go inactive you just get 30% off until you hit $225 in wholesale which I can do every 3 or so months.
What I don’t like is that it doesn’t matter how much you sell, you have to buy the $225 wholesale every month. So woman end up with all this inventory. What you sell goes towards your NSD or SD chance to win her car. Also they tell you there is no quota you have to meet, well you still have to spend money per month to get 50% off.
I knew I wasn’t going to make a ton of money or win a car. I don’t want to do parties or push people to buy or to join my team because I feel you do spend more money then you make.
I will say that my SD is amazing. She doesn’t push me, she understands I’m not going to make her a bunch of money but she also has 65 other ladies in her unit. She also does this full-time.
As for the company itself. I love that they’ve donated over $100M to woman and children shelters, they go by EU standards and their products are made in the USA.
If you go in knowing that in order to make money you need to recruit people. And some women love doing the parties and do very well, but you really have to work at marketing your business.
