Even More My Shop Problems!
Written by Parsons Green
Mary Kay’s “new and improved” My Shop online platform for consultants to sell products is the gift that keeps on giving. The new system was rolled out in December 2025 to replace the old consultant websites that were purchased and operated through Mary Kay Inc. It has been nothing short of a complete disaster. Consultants do not trust the company anymore because of all the shenanigans. The system is so bad that sales directors are closing down their sites.
We have reported many times on the frustrations consultants are having, and we’ve got more!
Stephanie’s sister wanted to order products from her mom who is also a consultant. A completely different person popped up as the sister’s consultant.

Other consultants share it’s an issue for them and their customers too.

Is this a bug or a feature? Surely Mary Kay has known of this issue for the entire year, and has done nothing about it. That suggests that this is exactly what MK has designed the site to do, but the question is why?

My two cents…
Ryan is aware of what will happen to MK if the FTC comes knocking. So he came up with a way to show that MK provides a true option for retail selling to the consultants. If MyShop worked perfectly, new consultants would be able to experience commission sales without SD involvement. Good for the consultant, not so good for the upline or MKC.
By allowing the intermittent issues to fester, new consultants will be reaching out to their sales directors for advice, which will likely lead to a pitch on the merits of front-loading and selling from your own inventory, and ultimately, to recruiting.
This allows MKC a path to continue the lucrative status quo, while at the same time demonstrating that consultants have a true choice whether to hold inventory and to recruit. If consultants choose to front-load, that’s on them, given they turned down the MyShop option.
For xSDs who campaign against MyShop within their own downline, MKC can simply throw them under the bus, and say they deliberately acted outside MK policy.
Its a hedge, and a clever one. Especially if My Shop gets just enough uptake to keep the FTC at bay, without eating too much into MKs front-loading gravy train.
