Kelly Green’s First Attempt at DIQ
Written by Parsons Green
Kelly Green is a Mary Kay Consultant in the Rachel Ryan Confetti Unit.In January, Kelly decided she wanted to enter the DIQ Program to become a director.

Interestingly, she mentioned that she knows she is (statistically speaking) likely to fail. To become a director, you need 24 consultants in your personal unit. The unit also needs to have $13,500 in wholesale orders to complete DIQ in three months. The company will allow you to complete in four months with $18,000 in wholesale orders.
At Leadership conference, Kelly posed with Chelsea and her Cadillac.

She also posted a picture wearing the Director suit. Becoming a director is all she can think about. She will be embarrassing and annoying to achieve this goal.

Kelly admitted to everyone on social media that they were nowhere close to the production needed to complete month one of DIQ. You see, Mary Kay also has a monthly total that needs to be met, in addition to the overall total. Kelly and her team need to have $3600 in production each month, otherwise she has to start all over again.

As expected, Kelly did not meet this goal and blamed herself for failing. As is the goal with all MLMs, we must make the victim feel like they did not try hard enough! But Kelly says she will try harder! She is meant to be a director. There is someone out there who can learn from her example and realize it is okay to try for a scary goal.

To illustrate how lucrative her Mary Kay business is, Kelly shared some pictures of what she’s been able to purchase in February with her Mary Kay income.

Not one but TWO tanks of mid-grade gas. Snacks at Monster Jam. A new bag and dress.
Luckily, Kelly has a full time job so she’s not reliant on Mary Kay to do the heavy lifting on her monthly expenses. Kelly is a bright, bubbly, charismatic girl. She does not need Mary Kay, but Mary Kay (and Jamie Taylor and Rachel Ryan) need her and the constant churn of production.
If you were a potential recruit on the outside looking in, would this opportunity seem exciting to you? Especially when Kelly is crying four times a day about DIQ?

Now that everyone is buying online how will production be made now that nobody needs inventory? Not that it was easy or even possible for the majority before going affiliate-adjacent of course with churn and burn.
This saddens me because I’m sure she has great qualities and the amount of effort going into MK could be put into something else that would be more fruitful for her. One of the worst parts of MK is selling to women that it’s the easiest and quickest business to let you make an impact in this world with everything else somewhat beneath it.
Ladies, you can have your own business and still make an amazing impact. Don’t be thrown off by the amount of work or how big and scary it may seem. Baby steps. At least you will have FULL ownership of it or make a big life changing amount of money if you ever decided to sell it. Do deep dives into learning about entrepreneurship if that’s what you really desire and leave this alone!
It’s not your business the way they are selling it to you…you’re basically an employee all over again but working for an even smaller amount of money. Track your earnings and expenses over time and you’ll see.
“I get asked on a regular basis, ‘How do you do it all and stay on track?’…”
Unlikely question, because you don’t stay on track. You are posting pictures of yourself with tears streaming down your face specifically because of your inability to stay on track.
Is this to solicit pity purchases? If not, why else would you share such personal emotion online for all to see? This all makes me sad for you and angry at your upline for taking advantage of you.
Run, sister, far from Mary Kay and from all MLM companies.
I promise, nobody anywhere is asking her “all the time how she does it all.”
They might be asking WHY she’s wasting precious time, energy, and throwing perfectly good money hand over fist at a “statistically improbable” goal…but NO ONE is looking to her for life hacks.
I hate to see a young, vibrant woman wasting her talent on Mary Kay or any MLM for that matter. She’s so brainwashed that she’ll keep trying and keep charging inventory that she doesn’t need to her card. She’ll use up her prime career years chasing a fake dream and will have nothing to show for it. It’s so sad.
Kelly, you might be willing to be embarrassing and annoying to achieve your dream, but people don’t want to be annoyed and embarrassed by you. I mean, I’m getting secondhand cringe just from reading this.
As a potential recruit, I’m a job applicant. As an applicant, I want to know why this job is good FOR ME. I want to know what the pay and benefits are, the job duties, hours, and what training is provided. I see you working your ass off and crying your eyes out for a month to score… a couple hundred bucks. Nope.
As a potential customer, with finite money to spend and a bazillion other choices out there, I want to know why what you’re sellng is good FOR ME, not why buying from you is good FOR YOU. The constant begging and emotional vomit and self-flagellation is just gross and off-putting.
You tried. You failed. There’s no shame in losing against a rigged system. Walk away and take some time to think about what you really want, and what’s really on your mind.
If you feel called to service and leadership, there are so many other ways to scratch that itch, from church work to charity work to working for a cause. If you want friends, MLM ain’t the place for it because those are all fair-weather friends who’ll drop you the moment you fail. If you have psychological garbage that’s hurting you, there are caring trained PROFESSIONALS (NOT MLM washout “life coaches”, ugh) who will help you address those issues.
As MK moves further away from the MLM model, it’s only going to get worse, and make you feel worse. Stop the madness.
Good grief. Crying all day and begging on social media. The only way to achieve this meaningless title is to con 24 women into signing up and ordering product she knows they will NEVER sell. She obviously doesn’t realize that this makes her look so immature and pathetic- yet she feels called to lead and empower women. Yikes!
Let’s see: busting ass, crying 4x a day, shameless begging, one cringey post after another, all of which culminated in enough money to buy snacks, a new dress and hat (probably from SHEIN), and not one but TWO whole tanks of gas, which you know didn’t come close to replacing what she’s used in her quest to wear a hideous jacket and meet a goal which she ADMITS is (most likely) futile?
Oh yes, hurry, I want to sign up.
Does she even hear herself?
But hey, she’s willing to be “annoying and embarrassing about it”…so congrats, goal met, well done.
*oops, not SHEIN, I see the tag now…
But still miles from impressive.
