Earlier this month, I saw this announcement on Facebook. Faith Mattice is the first consultant in the Brittani Jenks National Area to earn her way to the Princess Court of Sales! This is yet another made up Mary Kay title that has no meaning in the real world. Consultant earn purchase this rank when they’ve ordered $11,250 in wholesale products.

But wait! Mary Kay loves to recognize its consultants with these titles. Every few months, they offer a double credit month. This chart explains the math. Basically, the company double counts purchases toward your seminar goal, ensuring that more people “achieve” the goal.

Faith loves earning praise from her upline. Towards the end of July, her director Carli let her know she was $116 away from being a Glow Girl!

In August, she wanted to see 30 faces.

On August 22nd, she shared that she was $300 away from completing her Sapphire Star! (This is the lowest Star level with $1800 wholesale in a quarter). The orders trickled in.

In September, she went LIVE on Facebook for the first time. It was a beautiful mess.

In October, she had another goal. She wanted to have 18 orders by October 18th. Once she did, her husband would make a video demonstrating two Mary Kay Products! How wacky is this!! She shared many progress updates. Rick posted he wasn’t worried!

During this excitement, she shared that she and Rick had gone to a vendor fair. In addition to her fabulous Mary Kay business, they also sell personalized wood products. At this vendor fair, they only sold one keychain. She had spent over $100 on food and gas and received two NO’s from potential customers. A woman came up to her and they discussed Faith attending an event at her church. Even in failure, God is sending opportunity every single day.

Faith bounced back and shared she only needed 8 more orders. It’s no longer about Mary Kay. It’s about proving Rick wrong!

4 MORE ORDERS.

And in yet another Mary Kay Miracle – Faith did it.

Faith shared an outtake video where Rick tried two of the K Beauty Products. She’s gagging and heaving throughout because she has an aversion to snails. He’s a trooper and tells everyone the products smell fine. He also reminds everyone to check with your allergist if your are unsure about trying a new product.

She has not yet shared the official video yet.

Now let’s go back to one of my takeaways from Faith and her nonsense. She was Brittani Jenks’s first Princess Court achiever and she’s only been in the business since July. Brittani has a huge national area with hundreds of consultants. Where is the rest of they area? Why haven’t any of them earned this as well? Are people just not buying Mary Kay?

  1. She seems to have a ton of enthusiasm. If she put all that energy into a real job, I think she could be very successful.

  2. “Are people just not buying Mary Kay?”

Exactly. There is no real demand for these overpriced products of dubious quality (hence the begging and pleading). This accomplishmment looks to me like the typical combination of front-loading and pity purchases, which is nearly impossible to repeat and even harder to scale.

She can’t keep returning to this same well. It’s time to start recruiting strangers and front-loading the hell out of them!

  3. I completely love that her husband trolled her by making her demonstrate the snail snot patches on him. I’m sure she’s been whining about ewww snails from the start, and I’m sure he’s very tired of MK by now, so that was the only possible choice.

The migraineurs I’ve known won’t look at screens in the middle of a migraine because the light hurts and their vision is wonky.

And if the encounter with the church woman happened like she says it did, I’m Melissa McCarthy.

She’ll go far. She already fibs like an NSD.
