Pink Truth is Distasteful
I’m sending this email as a call to change in regards to pink truths practices on spelling out the “deceptive practices” of this company.
I’m not really sure of anyone’s true walk or experience in this buisness, however, after researching your site it seems that all of your articles are filled with great disdain toward the buisness. Then again that was the whole point of it, but how can anyone try save another person from their own personal insecurities, failures, mishaps, etc; by being negative.
I am a proud Marykay Beauty Consultant, before that I am a believer in Christ! I did not come to know Christ through my directors, but I know that with Him, through Him I can be successful.
I also wanted to express that this site is distasteful, since we cannot control freedom of speech, the authors of this site has every right to post what they may. Moreover, I have that same freedom as well to speak freely and to state that though you are strong in opinion and have a great message of caution to share, the manner in which you do it, could fall on bad soil, in which you may block your own blessings. Often times we feel the need to safeguard others, from negative experiences , but the reality is your feeding your own spirit with negativity.
The Bible says in Phil 4:8 “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, think on these things.”
So think on what you may say to expose a lie, but also examine yourself to make sure that you are in right standing to judge what’s right. I pray that you will receive this my in light &love, but to know that though you are no longer part of MaryKay, The Golden Rule is a lifestyle and not a tagline
God Bless you!

These are just a few examples of the characteristics of someone who is in a cult.
1. Unquestioning Devotion: They view the group’s leader as infallible, possessing a special truth, or even as a divine figure.
2. Loss of Critical Thinking: They show a high degree of suggestibility, often repeating the group’s slogans or catchphrases verbatim instead of formulating independent thoughts.
3. Us vs. Them Mentality: They adopt an elitist or persecutory view of the outside world, believing that only the group holds the key to safety or salvation while everyone else is misguided or evil.
These examples describe a proud Mary Kay Beauty Consultant to a T.
We have all experienced it, said the slogans, worshipped Mary Kay Ash and thought everyone outside the pink bubble was ( maybe not evil) but wrong about their opinion of the company. The best thing that ever happened to us is we escaped the cult.
Maybe there is still hope for the person who wrote this email.
OP, how am I feeding my spirit with negativity? You don’t know me. In fact, I highly doubt you know any of us, including those of us who did allllll the things the “Mary Kay way” to get to the “tippy top.”
And it was still wrong. It was never good enough. We should have done more. Talk about negative!
You cherry-pick Bible verses that fit your narrative without considering the larger picture and accusing us of being the judge of what is right and wrong. Bless your heart! I suggest you look in the mirror before you start throwing accusations around,
What is distasteful is using the Bible to manipulate women into participating in a pyramid scheme.
There’s a difference between “nice” and “kind”. Niceness is social lubrication, the thing that lets us coexist without constantly pissing each other off. Good manners, being polite, complimenting people when they do their best, being honorable are all important and make the world a nicer place. Where nice becomes a problem, though is when it’s used to cover over problems or used selfishly.
Kindness, which doesn’t have to be nice, is constructive criticism, hard truths, and information that might be hard to hear in the moment but they give the recipient the means to make a desicion, or to inform them that their actions have consequences. It’s not cruel, mocking, or insulting, just straightforward.
Let’s say you’ve got a friend who runs a small business that’s thriving, and she needs to hire someone to handle the bookkeeping so she can focus on making even more of her mother’s secret recipe barbecue sauce. However, you worked with this person about 3 years ago at a different company, and furthermore she was quietly let go for stealing both money and intellectual property but it was hushed up because the owner was embarrassed. Do you…
A) Say nothing, because you don’t want to come off as a know-it-all who doesn’t trust her to run her own business? After all, it’s been 3 years and maybe the book-cooker has reformed. You don’t want to be unfair to her. Even thieves gotta pay their bills. But a bit later she notices a lot of bank overdrafts and overdue bills, plus a brand new competitor with a suspiciously similar recipe is appearing on all the store shelves. Even if she fires the employee right there, she’s still out a lot of money and business and she doesn’t understand, because she even checked references and they were clean. You didn’t make her angry at you, but by withholding information she’s out a lot of money and her business fails. Not kind. And if she finds out you knew and didn’t tell her, goodbye friendship.
B)Tell her what you know, matter-of-factly without trash-talking the potential hire. Your friend gets mad at you, you know-it-all who doesn’t know jack about running a business, and stops calling. But she can make an informed decision and hire someone else, hire the person anyway but keep a close eye on finances, or hire the person and get wiped out. You made her mad at you (not nice) but it was at least kind to share what you knew. The friendship might survive, too.
A critical (and remember, critical does not have to = mean, nasty, hateful) site, by definition, isn’t nice, especially when the target of that criticism is an outfit like MK whose stock in trade is fake nice. They fake niceness to manipulate people into signing up, into buying up lots of inventory they’ll never sell, into thinking they’re loved and everyone is the best of friends… and counting on the niceness of the recruit not to make waves or express any doubts or criticism of their own. Because that’s not nice. They fake niceness to try and finagle people into buying from them
Showing the truth behind the pink might not be nice to those inside it, but I fail to see how showing the real earning potential, the scripts and tricks used by recruiters to bypass a potential recruit’s defenses, and the history of manipulation is wrong. Those things are a kindness: giving the recruit a chance to make an informed decision, instead of being rushed into it by a recruiter who doesn’t want to give her a chance to think lest she lose her bonus.
Delusion, fairy tales, and narcissism from beginning to end.

Please, please lie to make Ms. PTC feel better!
I’m not really sure of anyone’s true walk or experience in this buisness (sic) , however, after researching your site it seems that all of your articles are filled with great disdain toward the buisness (sic).
If that’s your take-away, then you didn’t “research” on this site.
Then again that was the whole point of it, but how can anyone try save another person from their own personal insecurities, failures, mishaps, etc; (sic)by being negative.
It’s not being “negative” to reveal one’s own experience. It’s not negative to explain all the ins and outs of an MLM like Mary Kay. It is however, illuminating to read what the directors talk about in their private groups.
I am a proud Marykay (sic) Beauty Consultant, before that I am a believer in Christ! I did not come to know Christ through my directors, but I know that with Him, through Him I can be successful.
I’m sure the knout-braiding, table-flipping, violently verbally-abusing Christ who loudly denounced the Temple traders for their distain of His Father’s Name would be ashamed of you for linking His Name with your fauxpotunity.
I also wanted to express that this site is distasteful, since we cannot control freedom of speech, the authors of this site has every right to post what they may.
There’s a whole Internet out there if you need to make a “Safe Space” to praise Mary Kay Wagner Rogers Eckman Weaver Miller Hallenbeck Ash. However, I doubt your website would allow the faintest hintette of criticism towards either the lady or the company, unlike Trace who DOES print her supporters.
Moreover, I have that same freedom as well to speak freely and to state that though you are strong in opinion and have a great message of caution to share, the manner in which you do it, could fall on bad soil, in which you may block your own blessings.
Much gobbledy-gook! Word salad sandwiches are not your forte.
Often times we feel the need to safeguard others, from negative experiences , but the reality is your feeding your own spirit with negativity.
Where’s the negativity in this? Apart from all the women making less than $214 CDN per annum.

The Bible says in Phil 4:8 “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, think on these things.”
But you, Ms. PTC want US to lie to spare your feelings. That you value feelings over facts? That’s not things “that are pure”. They are “not things of good report” if you have to continually repeat lies in order to preach a false doctrine.
So think on what you may say to expose a lie, but also examine yourself to make sure that you are in right standing to judge what’s right.
It appears that you be-LIE-ve that you alone know what is the “right standing” and that appears to be spreading lies and misinformation.
I pray that you will receive this my in light &love, but to know that though you are no longer part of MaryKay (sic), The Golden Rule is a lifestyle and not a tagline
Mary Kay (note it’s two words not one!) didn’t follow the Golden Rule nor did her son or grandson.
God Bless you!
{fake Southern accent} Why Bless Your Heart! {fake Southern accent}
I’m also too polite to say that two word phrase.
Dear PTC: read yesterdays letter.
Best of luck to ya!
I’ve never been in Mary Kay. Do you still love me PTC?
I love being called ” distasteful” . It’s kinda like being called an old salty hag, and I like that too!
Suzy, you’re a distasteful, salty old hag 🤗
“I know that with Him, through Him I can be successful.” But at what? Are you headed the right way?
Jeremiah 8:4 “Jeremiah, say this to the people of Judah: This is what the Lord says: You know if a man falls down, he gets up again. And if a man goes the wrong way, he turns around and comes back.”
Proverbs 26:11 “Like a dog that returns to its vomit, a fool does the same foolish things again and again.” … this is for the repeat DIQ group.
Well said — huns like to pick verses that fit their own narrative without looking at the greater picture.
And “say yes when you mean yes, no when you mean no”
How many of these MK consultants can’t say no ,even when they want to?
I also believe the MK leadership falls under one of the 7 deadly sins: ENVY
and even the 10th commandment: :thou shalt not covet they neighbors goods (no Jonesing!)
Barf 🙄
Well, someone certainly likes to hear herself talk, doesn’t she?
