Mary Kay Products Damaged During Shipping
What is going on with Mary Kay products? The company apparently denies any formula change, but consultants and customers are reporting eyeshadow and blush crumbling during shipping. And in an effort to make things as difficult as possible for consultants and customers, Mary Kay Inc. is hassling them about getting the damaged products replaced.

Interesting address for the PA warehouse:
Mary Kay Eastern Branch
115 Shady Ln
Manchester, PA
It’s along I-83 between Harrisburg and York.
Shady, you say??????
The amount of trouble, financial harm, disrespect and lack of concern these consultants continue to accept from Corporate is wild. It never ends!
So true Pinkboo, but what choice do they have? Corporate has total control over what, where and how they sell. It’s not like consultants can go order inventory from another company or file a grievance with a union.
I’m so hopeful that more and more consultants and directors will see the writing on the wall and get the hell on heels out of Mary Kay.
Yep–“My customer received crumbled bronzer”
Now the consultant has to find a new bronzer for her client or order a new one . Guess what?
Consultant will have to pay the shipping cost for the bronzer AND pay for the shipping cost to return the bronzer.
These consultants are lucky to make 10% commission – if that- when they total it all up.
Also, those “trays” that the colors are set in are VERY sharp. I had a customer, long ago, who was already finicky and persnickety, order her cream-to-powder foundation as she usually did. In her frustration with the slow delivery, she scraped the bottom of the tray to get every last bit of- and sliced her finger wide open. It was severe enough to need stitches.
I’m fortunate I wasn’t sued, etc. I’m sure the company would have had my back, HA HA HA.
It’s also the tragic way we are trained and reinforced to negate our negative experiences.
Someone is a dick to you – “Oh, she’s having a bad day.”
Product is messed up – “I’m sure they are sooo busy with all the orders and deliveries UPS is handling now.”
Nobody answers the phone when you call corporate – “They are just so busy serving people!”
And then it spills outside of MK.
Marriage is falling apart – “Well, marriage is hard work. I guess I (YES JUST ME NOT NOTH PARTIES) need to work harder! Maybe I should pray more.”
Kids are acting out in big ways – “Kids will be kids!”
Health declining – “I’m just so busy taking care of everyone else…”
Financial problems – “I guess I just need to sell more products. If I could just figure out how to recruit like Suzy Q, it would get better.”
You see the drift.
I was two decades in MK, now two years post pink.
They do brainwash their consultomers to keep them around.
Any company worth their salt would replace the damaged products without a fuss.
I had a damaged bronzer in an Ulta order last year. The whole thing was cracked and made a mess in the box. I took the box to the local store, and the team there replaced the damaged items without any issues.
I wonder if there was a bad lot number that didn’t meet quality standards and still got through… that is what the problem was with the bronzer I ordered from Ulta.
Once or twice, and the company makes good, no problem. Accidents happen.
But if I start having consistent problems with a brand or company, I quit buying from them. I’ve had so many problems with food delivery sites, and of course their “customer service” is just bots now. One of the reasons I quit buying from Amazon was damaged shipments, missing parts, wrong items etc.
This is happening to the most dedicated customers – the consultants. Could you imagine if you were a first time customer and this is how your order came from my shop?
Sherry posted an update about this order!

The company is not what it once was plain and simple. Damaged product that is a hassle to return is an excellent way to lose customers. MKC is trying to build a retail customer base with direct ship with MyShop. Not paying attention to complaints is a terrible way to go about it. Not to mention making it difficult to replace damaged products for the consultomers. But the bots will NEVER blame MKC. It’s never the company’s fault because they care so much about us.
And Jane Average, who receives a damaged or defective product, goes to customer service, and gets treated like this… her reaction will not be “oh, poor them, they’re so busy and having growing pains with this new thing.”
It’s gonna be “either honor the satisfaction guarantee, or I’m going to tell the world about it and your business will sink.”
Well, the rumor is they laid off the entire distribution leadership that was fighting to get improvements done especially at PA center, so these things will be happening more and more…
