Here’s an interesting post from a woman in a Facebook group for Mary Kay consultants and directors. She’s saying that she went inactive (i.e. didn’t order $225 wholesale within a 3 month period). She also says she did “so much work” and did not turn a profit, and she’s not happy about the idea of working for no pay. She further says that Mary Kay was getting in the way of her time with God and other important things. (What happened to faith first, family second, MK third?)
What should she do?
As expected, all the Kaybots think she should stick with it. Throw common sense business advice out the window. Normal business people would assess what they’ve done, what the results are, and make a rational decision. (In this case: I did the work. I made no money. Time to quit.) But we can’t use a rational process in MK. Despite the fact that almost everyone loses money in MLM, we’re supposed to pretend that if this woman just sticks with it, she’ll eventually make money.
The responses are so brainwashed…
