Commissions for May 2026
Let’s go with the May 2026 numbers for Mary Kay national sales director commissions. It’s not getting any better, kids!
This time around we have this count for nsds with commissions exceeding $10k in May in each division:
- Diamond 20 (Oopsie! Poor Jamie Taylor missed it, making less than $10k again! That’s gotta hurt when her man-baby husband Zac hasn’t contributed financially to the family for years!)
- Emerald 15
- Sapphire 18
That’s a total of 53 nsds out of a total of 105, or 50% making $10k or more.

For those wondering how much the national sales directors are making each year, here’s a peek. These are only the nsds who are “on target” for gold, diamond, or inner circle. To make it to one of these circles, you need annual commissions totaling at least:
- Gold Circle $100,000
- Diamond Circle $200,000
- Inner Circle $300,000
- Inner Circle Platinum $500,000
28 nsds are on target for gold circle. This is interesting because these are many of the names you see who appear to be BIG TIME in Mary Kay. Kristin Sharpe, Jamie Taylor, Brittany Jenks, Somer Fortenberry. But is this big time? No. They will make $100k before business expenses. That’s not executive level earnings.
12 are on target for diamond circle. Familiar names include Lynnea Tate and Kimberly Copeland.
4 are on target for inner circle. That’s it. The days of huge commissions for nsds like we used to see with the likes of Gloria Banks, Pam Shaw, and Lisa Madson are over. Two women will hit $500k, but that’s it. And it may not last much longer for them either. (Cue Ryan Rogers breathing a sigh of relief over not having to pay the huge commissions anymore. Hooray “go give area” with no national and no extra commissions!)
So let’s be clear… Out of 105 nsds in Mary Kay, 44 are going to make $100k or more for the year. That’s 42% of the nsds. Which means that 58% of national sales directors make less than $100k per year. (And again, this is before they pay any business expenses.) This is not a glamorous or prestigious job. The fall of the nsds shows us just how dire things are for Mary Kay Inc.

Regarding Zac Taylor, does “operations technician” for Marathon Petroleum mean he pumped gas for 3 years after leaving the police force to become a country singer? For that matter, why did his auto detailing business fold? Er, that is, why did he suddenly want to become a pastor back in Virginia?
He should have asked his sugar sharp boss babe She-eo small business owner for pointers, if he’d been living in the same state and had a downline to manipulate into buying his goals for him.
Those two deserve each other.
The prodigal son did return home to that garbage excuse for a school that gives out Cracker Jack box degrees. He started there as a fire sprinkler technician, apparently washed out (probably kept leaving control valves closed, or something), went away to indulge in other fantasies, and came back and is now pretending to be a lawyer while wifey pretends to be a CEO and yells at their toddler just for being toddler. Lovely couple. 🙄
Kimmy spends half of hers each month on balloon arches and custom cookies. The other half is for hair extensions and clown clothes.
I cannot wait to see next months totals. NSD’s must get $100,000 or more in commissions to earn the NSD trip invite!
Unless you’re one of the top four con artists with claws in Latin America, you don’t stand a chance. These numbers do not represent executive income at all. Not even close.
No wonder Kristin and Brittani keep trying to make money from events and so many NSDs have a side hustle. They have an image of luxury to maintain without the income to maintain it.
You know, I could go back to technical writing and have more spendable income than most of the NSDs and work fewer hours.
A new niche has opened up! Fixing the crap that ChatGTP and its ilk hallucinate is as profitable as cleaning up bad writing from cheap freelancers was.
Holy crap. I just checked my 2025 tax forms and I made significantly more than any of the Gold Circle NSDs. I know they still have until the end of this month but…just wow. (I’m not saying that to brag, it just is what it is)
What’s even more wow, is that I’m not even a people leader or management at my employer.
Is this really worth all the hustle?
“They also make 50% on their personal sales!” Don’t forget all the nonsense stories to support the narrative that this is such a prestigious career.
The pink juice ain’t worth the squeeze!
