Nsd Commissions for July and August 2026
July is always the slowest month in Mary Kay, and it’s all because the credit cards got a workout in June. Everyone wants to “finish the seminar year strong” and if that means buying products you don’t need, with a credit card you’re close to maxing out, then so be it. June numbers look great for the directors and nsds, but then July looks ill and August isn’t much better.
It’s fun to see this play out via the national sales director commissions. As we know, there are only 105 nsds (give or take) left in Mary Kay. The company only publishes commission checks that exceed $10,000 for the month.
Hoo boyyyyyy…. there are lots of nsds who made a paltry living in July!

A whopping 37 nsds made $10k or more in July, which is only 35% of them. That means 65% of the pyramid toppers didn’t even make middle management wages that month!

August was even worse than July, with only 33 nsds making $10k or more… which leaves 69% of the pyramid toppers making a pittance!

Of note: Somer Fortenberry, who works so stinkin hard begging and bribing her consultants and directors for orders, who has around 40 directors in her area, and who has the benefit of a legacy area (her mother-in-law is an emerita) got commissions of less than 14K from July and less than 11K in August. She has everything going for her (except starting in 1965), and yet she’s barely clinging to the bottom of the published rankings. If that doesn’t prove that you can’t make executive income with this business, I don’t know what does!

And another thing! These commission checks do not factor in expenses, which are extraordinary for a national. Travel, prizes, assistants, newsletter services, on and on and on. It also doesn’t factor in self-employment taxes, which cuts 1/3 right off the top.
And don’t forget her sister-in-law Pam who is also an NSD and never shows up on these lists!
Did her SIL retire? A few years ago she made inner circle so of she didn’t retire, she fell fast.

Oh, but don’t forget the 50% of sales! These NSDs are likely holding 20 parties a week and raking it in on product sales!
Not. More likely, they just order the qualifying minimums and give it (or throw it) away. They, of all people, know that front-loading actually hurts their bottom line.
What do you mean front-loading hurts NSD’s bottom line?
Because people do not reorder after front-loading. There is no consistency (hence all of the contests out there by NSDs and corporate). Newbies place one big order, and that’s it.
Brittani Jenks went from $19K in July to $10K in August. That’s quite a drop.
It must be stressful to run a household, pay bills, and plan for the future when you have such wild variations in income from month to month. And she has four very young children.
And don’t forget the taxes!
I wonder how many of those Nationals are still charging/overcharging for meetings and selling “coaching” services. Too many of the guilty are on those lists.
Then there’s the new grift of charging exorbitant amounts to organize children’s birthday parties which are thinly disguised Mary Kay parties/recruiting sessions (hi, Chelsea!) Are products designed for adults really supposed to go on kindergartners’ skin? Should consultants use other people’s small children to advertise their Mary Kay business after charging their parents money for the privilege?
Taylor Bero admitted on social media she owns Virtual Bestie but still plays coy and acts like she doesn’t in the directors group, and has blatantly lied recently that she doesn’t.
Many, probably most Nationals and some directors are grifting other ways using the Mary Kay name.
That birthday party thing is awful. I would be so disappointed to think I’m getting a birthday party and it turns out it’s just a Mary Kay party! No, thank you. I need more info on this grift.
Also, there’s lots of better birthday party options out there.
I’m so glad you posted this, because I literally was thinking “I wonder how SD’s and NSD’s director’s July & August is going, particularly this year, with the whole MyShop kerfuffle.” LOL!
We need to start threads on some of these top NSDs. I don’t know anything about Lupita, Sonia, or Patricia.
I’m curious about them too. Is it because of their connection to the Latino communities? Are they selling to friends or family members in other countries?
Patricia and Sonia are in the same lineage~ Patricia’s Con Cache area ( I think that’s the name) is so big they had to divide her offspring nationals up among the three areas… I know Lupita has been inner circle for years, I don’t know who her recruiter was… and yes their commissions include the overseas directors
Hey, NSD’s and wanna be’s…I took home $16K a month as in computer security…19 years ago….lol! Please get real skills with real pay and benifits. You will thank yourself when you are 62. It comes literally overnight, trust me!
I believe they may have huge downlines in Latin and South America.

Yes, Lupita, Sonia, and Patricia have HUGE Latin American downlines, which is why their NSD checks are considerably higher than everyone else’s.
