False Hope for Cindy Sheppa
Written by Parsons Green
Cindy Sheppa has been in Mary Kay for almost 25 years and has earned 7 top director trips. In 2025, she missed out on her 8th director trip.

Then in 2026, she missed out for the second year in a row. She and her unit only did the $500,000 unit club ($250,000 in wholesale orders).

Cindy used Facebook messenger so much that she was locked out of her account! What a horrible thing to do to a business owner and CEO. (What happened? She was messaging people she didn’t know, trying to sell MK, at such a high rate that FB brought the hammer down and made her stop.)

When she started seeing pictures from this year’s trip to Switzerland, she felt sad. She and her husband always looked forward to these trips. She dried her tears and pledged to be on the next trip to Rome.

Cindy jumped on the latest Mary Kay trend of K Beauty.

And earlier this month, Mary Kay reignited her desire to take her husband to Rome. IT HAS BEEN HARD FOR KEN! Not going on a Mary Kay trip has been so hard for both of them! Mary Kay sent Cindy a glamorous passport holder to remind her that she is on target to earn this trip. She even admits they are nowhere close to where they need to be at this point in the year, but declares that they will earn this trip. (If she’s so far off the mark, how is she “on target”???)

Plus, Cindy still *owes* Rome to her husband.

Cindy again declares her love for the new K Beauty products. She clowns herself up to demonstrate how well one of the products removes makeup which will be perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.

Mary Kay is so, so good at intermittent rewards. They dish out enough positive reinforcement to keep women going. Most importantly, it keeps women purchasing products that they don’t need and won’t sell. You KNOW that at the end of the seminar year, Cindy’s credit card is going to get a workout to top off production if they are anywhere near the production needed for the trip.
These women are not running a business. If they had a real mind for business, they would see what is happening, evaluate it objectively, and conclude that this is a losing proposition. Production continues to go down as Mary Kay Inc. continues its downward spiral. But WHEEEEEE!!! Mary Kay is giving Cindy the “Go Give Award” in February 2027. Way to go MK…. an intermittent reward that keeps her engaged and positive and spending money. This is part of the false hope that Mary Kay has used as a manipulation tactic from the start.

Meanwhile, in the real world, folks save up money to take the trips they desire…without asking for financial help from family and friends!
One sign of “Success” is not having to regularly beg for handouts…something Cindy has yet to achieve. “Desperation”, on the other hand, is something Cindy has in spades.
Cindy has mentioned several times on her page that Ken is a successful real estate agent with millions in sales. If Rome were truly a priority for him, I am sure he could swing a trip there on his own dime.
He could take some of his “Mary Kay Husband” friends with him. I’m sure they’d love some time away from the MK churn.
This December we’re going to back to the Bahamas for a week. Using the money my husband’s actual business made. I’ll be taking one of the 5 weeks of PTO I get. Last year I left my phone in the cab to the island hopper. Got it back when I returned home but I was not freaking out for not being tied to my MK “business” every moment of the day.
All this God-bothering really is is blaming God for the failure inherent in the MLM system. It can’t be that the Almighty Company is set up to fail all but .1% of the faithful. No, Big G is deliberately sabotaging your efforts. Which doesn’t really jive with the whole benevolent God, giver of all good things idea, does it?
BTW I’m not booking a “play date” with a fake Juggalette. That would be a very embarrassing episode of Dateline to end up on 🫣
Remember the eleventh commandment – “thou shalt sell overpriced lipstick to the multitudes.” Precisely why the Good Lord would be interested in sending you on a holiday after scamming and thieving, giving someone a pink Caddy or a mascara sale. Y’know instead of curing famine IDK. God wants no part in your grift. If his Son was here, tables would be flipped.
And putting waterproof makeup on your face to remove with snail snot – she’s gone full Younique hun. Never go full Younique hun.
I thought the top picture was AI generated, with the possible prompt: Mary Kay Sales director look like a clown with make up, minus the white base. imagine my shock when I realized it was a real video she posted online as a sales technique! Haha.
There’s something sad about adult women doing things like this. It’s not attractive or appealing.
It doesn’t make me want to buy MK products from her or “join her team.” It’s just silly…and pathetic.
They remind me of kids that pester their mother when she’s on the phone for no other reason than she’s paying attention to someone else for five minutes.
Hush, the adults are talking.
“Look what God did through willing hands.”
Then your god sucks. Find a better god.
She’s gone full Younique hun with this one. Younique huns drew Sharpies and lipstick doodles on their faces to show how the foundation covered it up. Younique foundation is just oil so it dissolved the doodles. The only cover up going on there was how Younique managed to sell crappy foundation at a ludicrous price to so many willing hunbots. Doing the math Younique had 1 million global presenters and sold several million. Most of the foundation ended up rotting away on Younique huns shelves, they being the true end customer for the products.
Add to that Younique used OXYGEN LABS as a manufacturer. The worst cosmetic manufacturer in the US. The one behind the Jaclyn Hill fiasco with melted lipsticks, mold, dog and cat hair, rat droppings, bacterial contamination. The works. A dog running around the factory loose. A cat in a cage. Oxygen had FEMA arrive in HAZMAT suits once.
It was touted as a quirky marketing technique but it was just sad and humiliating. I don’t recall Dior or even Covergirl ever doing something like that.
So it seems to have crossed over into MK. It’s not quirky it’s just bizarre and humiliating. “Buy my shizz as I doodle on my face, look at how snail snot cleans it off” is not a marketing technique.
The Facebook Messenger ban post…I mean, she’s playing in Meta’s sandbox. Probably not paying for anything. They don’t HAVE to tell her WHY she was banned. Maybe she needs to figure out a different way to spam all those people, including the ones who probably complained to Meta about it.
What happened to the campaign where MKC would advertise on Facebook for the consultants? I can’t remember the details, but I believe the consultants had to pay for it. It must have died a quick death.
When you market yourself as a:
Believer
Boss Babe
Boy Mom
Beauty Bestie
…I’m out.
Also…yikes. When reading her posts above, I thought – how very STRESSFUL. And I thought being a teacher was stressful! Thankfully, I don’t have to do any of this nonsense. I probably make more! And, (waves arms at all of THIS) I don’t have to beg and beg and beg. She used to be a teacher and gave it up for MK.
I didn’t even know it was possible to get locked out of Facebook messenger for using it too much, but it makes sense. It’s certainly not meant to be used as a cold-calling tool or to send spam to all these random people but I could see how that could happen, and why Facebook needs to prevent people from doing that. That woman really managed to achieve something there, not in a good way of course. Pretty funny and pathetic at the same time.
MLMs are prohibited in groups and community pages on Fakebook: “Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) content—including recruitment pitches, “work from home” side-hustle claims, and pyramid-style invites—is strictly prohibited in many Facebook community and small business groups.” So maybe it’s bled over into Messenger. Or enough annoyed people complained about being hassled for parties and mascara sales. Or the algorithm caught it because she spammed so many people. If you send a certain number of messages in a certain time it locks out to prevent spamming/botting.
The only cold calling tool that wouldn’t likely lock out is phone calls. Too many texts and the carriers (sending and receiving) goes “nuh uh y u spamming?” and the texts either don’t send or disappear into the void as spam.
Email won’t work either – too many emails and your IP is banned and your account blacklisted and closed. Then you have to create a new email account and use a VPN or Tor to hide or alter your IP. If you have to use spam circumvention like a Nigerian prince maybe that should be a wakeup call that you are SPAMMING PEOPLE.
With the amount of needless inventory she bought she could have just saved the money and gone on vacay at a lower price. But she wouldn’t have bragging rights if she just bought her own vacation rather than “earn” a crappy one through going into bankruptcy court for MK.
