I think there’s a reason only the top tier cars are pink, and all the others are ordinary current model colors.
There’s nothing special about driving a car that looks like any other car on the road.
Behind the scenes, there’s nothing special about being forced to pay inflated MK insurance prices (on which I’m sure they make a profit) when you qualify for a much lower rate from the insurance company you’ve been using.
Neither is there anything special about having the continual threat of an outrageous co-pay if you don’t purchase enough makeup every three months.

It’s pickup-shaped, but … it’s wimpy.

(my 2005 Ford can carry more in the bed and tow about 3 times that load)

Wow, you’re right. A pickup with a crew cab, but only a 4-cylinder engine. No wonder it’s in the MK car program – it looks like a truck but it’s cheap!
The gas mileage of the XT6! Very unladylike popping out of a truck or Camaro in a skirt! I predict lots of embarrassing moments in those.

Worst MK decision I ever made (besides signing an agreement in the first place) was to take cars instead of the cash option. When I qualified for my first car, the car I had was already paid for. I went from no car payments to copays some months.
I truly wish I had just taken the cash compensation as a nice little bonus. That way, in the months when I would have had to make a copay, I simply would have received less or no car compensation.
The Mary Kay car program is particularly evil. You are encouraged to drive your “trophy on wheels” as an example to your unit and as a form of brand advertising. But once you’re tied to your MK car, you are constantly scrambling for car production so as not to make a copay or, even worse, lose the car.
On the other hand, if you take cash, your production shortfalls aren’t visible. You can treat cash compensation as an extra dividend, so if you don’t qualify, it’s not taking money out of your director’s check.
And the cash could pay for a car that will be 100% yours. The co-pays aren’t prorated fairly, either. If you do over half Cadillac production, you still have to pay the full $900/month back instead of half of that. The whole program is designed to help MK Inc make more money and not helpful to the sales force at all.

Yes, it’s true: The Cadillac co-pay is up to $900/month for 3 months. It’s ridiculously weighted to help MK Inc.
So disgusting! Obviously this puts even more pressure on directors to “top off” production! A $350 (I’m guessing) inventory order they don’t really need, or a $900 lease payment for the next 3 months? Clever, yet evil, way to get more money out of the “sales force”.
Speaking of this, when directors “top off” production, is it typically like $200 in a month, $600, $900? I know it’ll vary by directors, but I’ve never really seen ANY ballpark estimates. MK is predatory to the consultants, but even more so to the directors! That’s the biggest thing I learned from Pink Truth; is directorship sucks! I believe it’s like this in lots of other MLMs; you lose a little money as a consultant, but you lose A LOT of money when you get to director/ team leader/ diamond recruiter whatever they call it in your particular MLM.
Really seems like it should only be $450. Wow, learn a new horror every day.
If you do take the cash compensation, isn’t that from orders (not sales) and endless-chain recruiting other poor souls to place orders?

Lowering the lease criteria to excite for more recruits.. MK got a good deal with chevy corp. Again, lease it on your own. Much cheaper!

I wonder if they get a choice of color for the non-pink vehicles.
What do you mean by copay?
Copay is money you have to chip in to pay the car lease if you don’t meet “sales” volume (which is really “buys” volume, since actual sales to customers is optional).
Mary Kay doesn’t “give” you a car; they lease one in your name and pay for the lease as long at your orders meet quota. If you miss quota over a 3-month period, for the following 3 months you have to pay some or all of the lease payment. That’s co-pay, and it can add up to a lot of money.
If you decide to give up the car, MK insists on sending a lift truck out to your home to get it, as if the car were being repossessed. Public humiliation: this evil brought to you by your corporate friends at Mary Kay.

Um, the truck and Camero are worthless. I cannot imagine driving around in those with Mary Kay decals on them. I mean the little Cruze hatchback was at least cute. I think it would be very hard to get a unit remotely excited about anything except the Equinox and Cadillac.
Another interesting thought on how some directors avoid the car co-pay it’s pretty tricky on their part but they win their first pink Cadillac and at the end of the lease they actually have the option to buy it so many of them will buy their Cadillac or other company car and then take the cash option so that they’re not charged all that money if they don’t meet production. plus once they buy it then they can put it on their own insurance and save a ton of money! I remember when I had won the Chevy Cruze and I got the insurance taken out of my “commission check“ and it was $95 a month. I was shocked because I have several other cars and I don’t pay that much money a month for any of them and one of them is a Corvette . Mary Kay really rips off directors big time!
