Make Your Own Pink Cadillac

Mary Kay sales directors who qualify for the pink Cadillac are debating what to do since they now only have an option for an electric Cadillac. There are directors who are qualifying for the Cadillac who do not want an electric vehicle. For some of them it is a preference, for others it is a matter of not having a lot of charging stations easily accessible where they live.

So what are Cadillac directors to do? Some are taking the cash compensation and leasing their own cadillacs.

Jil Johnson got creative and made her own pink Cadillac with a custom wrap. It’s not the same as the MK official car, but it is a creative way to get the gas car that you want or need, while still having something eye catching to promote your scam with when you’re out and about.

  1. The option to drive the car of your choice has always been available to business owners, so long as their company can afford it. Same for which product lines you choose to carry, and where and how you choose to sell and advertise.

Someone who purchases MK product from GOOB sales has this same flexibility, and since they did not sign a MK agreement, can carry whatever other product lines they choose, set their own prices, open a brick-and-mortar and/or online store, and MKC can’t do a thing about it.

This is what real business ownership is like. Which is in stark contrast to the rules imposed on MK sales reps by MKC.

  2. MK is ok with people making their own Pink Cadillac? That doesn’t sound like MK. A new thing for legal to crack down on?

    • I think where they *could* get her is her use of the MK name/logo without permission. That is specifically not allowed under her sales director contract. I think they’d be stupid to crack down on that, because it’s free advertising for the company. But she did violate her contract if she didn’t get permission to do that.

I’m actually fine with this idea. It’s a clever idea to get the car you want but still advertise your scam.

  3. I have a feeling the whole thing will be a moot point after the next round of announcements from Corporate. In the meantime, ladies, if you MUST continue taking part in MK, take the cash compensation instead of the car and use it for a down payment on a car you like and you’ll actually own once you make the payments. Whatever a car payment is these days, it’s gotta be less than the copays you’ll be making on your trophy on wheels, and commercial insurance cheaper than MK scam Insurance.

  4. Interesting that MKCorpse is taking the stance of electric Caddy’s only for the sales farce…

GM is not adding any new EVs to their lineup, and in fact, they are scaling back EV production and bringing new gasoline-powered Cadillacs, including the XT6. GM took a $2.9 billion EV-related charge in the second quarter of this year with total EV-related costs topping $10.9 billion since the second half of 2025.

Methinks corporate got locked into some kind of contract agreement when GM was pushing its electric-only Cadillacs, and now they’re stuck.

    • Ya my thought was that the announcement of EV Pink Caddies was made when GM announced they were working on going 100% electric but of course that’s not happening anytime soon so…there you have it.

    • I think this agreement was made with GM when GM was pushing a move toward all EV. MK jumped on it and thought it made them look hip and trendy. I think MK can easily roll this back to offering gas or EV, it will just be a little bit before they do it.

  5. My MIL was able to purchase her old pink caddie when she didn’t meet qualifications again. I don’t know why these ladies can’t do that now… unless the rules have changed?

But it seems really weird that MK is only offering the EV model… it just doesn’t make sense.

    • You used to be able to purchase a mk career car including the pink Cadillac ( provided you got it repainted)when you either earned the next one or decided to take the cash option. They stopped allowing the repurchase of pink Cadillacs a few years back because too many directors who hadn’t earned the pink Cadillac kept driving them pink. ( Including a nsd daughter )

      • ok… it’s been a while since my MIL did that… maybe 2010? She had NOT requalified, and she didn’t want to take a lower car… since her caddie had really low miles. She continued to drive the caddie for some time, until she ended up donating it when she gave up driving altogether.

I can understand why the company has done that- as she was perpetuating the fraud that she was still a caddie driver.

  6. I think Ryan is trying to prove that Mary Kay is a sustainable company. Offering EV only Cadillac, packaging changes, the pink doing green campaign etc. I agree that he may have perhaps made some kind of commitment with GM that he can’t get out of. I also think it won’t be too long before MKC has to make some kind of statement or start terminating directors and consultants for breech of the agreement regarding using the Mary Kay logo on a non-achieved Mary Kay car. If they don’t, then everyone will start doing it. They may even do away with the car leasing program all together and change the achievement to be you can earn the use of the Mary Kay badging for any car. Or perhaps do what Arbonne does- you earn the badging at their RVP level, but you must lease a white Mercedes Benz any model not to exceed 3-4 years old, at least that’s what it used to be. Of course Mary Kay would likely choose a GM car but the EV Cadillac stays until the contract expires with GM.

  7. This is the way to go. Get your own car, negotiate your own deal, use your own insurance, paint it however you want, and keep it or sell it as you please.
