Let’s go with the May 2026 numbers for Mary Kay national sales director commissions. It’s not getting any better, kids!

This time around we have this count for nsds with commissions exceeding $10k in May in each division:

That’s a total of 53 nsds out of a total of 105, or 50% making $10k or more.

For those wondering how much the national sales directors are making each year, here’s a peek. These are only the nsds who are “on target” for gold, diamond, or inner circle. To make it to one of these circles, you need annual commissions totaling at least:

  • Gold Circle $100,000
  • Diamond Circle $200,000
  • Inner Circle $300,000
  • Inner Circle Platinum $500,000

28 nsds are on target for gold circle. This is interesting because these are many of the names you see who appear to be BIG TIME in Mary Kay. Kristin Sharpe, Jamie Taylor, Brittany Jenks, Somer Fortenberry. But is this big time? No. They will make $100k before business expenses. That’s not executive level earnings.

12 are on target for diamond circle. Familiar names include Lynnea Tate and Kimberly Copeland.

4 are on target for inner circle. That’s it. The days of huge commissions for nsds like we used to see with the likes of Gloria Banks, Pam Shaw, and Lisa Madson are over. Two women will hit $500k, but that’s it. And it may not last much longer for them either. (Cue Ryan Rogers breathing a sigh of relief over not having to pay the huge commissions anymore. Hooray “go give area” with no national and no extra commissions!)

So let’s be clear… Out of 105 nsds in Mary Kay, 44 are going to make $100k or more for the year. That’s 42% of the nsds. Which means that 58% of national sales directors make less than $100k per year. (And again, this is before they pay any business expenses.) This is not a glamorous or prestigious job. The fall of the nsds shows us just how dire things are for Mary Kay Inc.
