Verge: No Limits
Written by Parsons Green
Jamie Taylor held her annual Fall Retreat the first weekend of October. This year’s retreat had a hard rock theme and was called “No Limits.” On her way to the event, future million dollar director Chelsea Adkins shared that there would be approximately 100 people at the event.

The event planner was Taylor Bero. Taylor took time away from her alleged side hustle “Virtual Bestie” to coordinate this lavish party.
The weekend began with a Friday night slumber party for Jamie’s directors driving a Mary Kay car. While directors talked strategy, Jamie practiced her entrance.
Attendees could make their own bedazzled coffee cup sleeve at this event. They also received a sleep mask that said Never Stop Dreaming.

Day one began with the quality training only a Mary Kay nsd can provide. Former Cadillac driver Carrie Cardwell shared a glimpse of her notes during one of the classes. To achieve success in Mary Kay – you need three things:
- 30 new faces a month (also known as a Power Start)
- 10 intentional conversations about the opportunity
- $500 in sales a week

Seeing that Carrie recently failed at her own Power Start, she has a lot of work ahead.
Jamie also issued a challenge. She offered Kate Spade bags to the first two attendees who could get 20 women to watch a recruiting video and fill out a survey. And Jamie is so kind – she offered this prize to anyone in the verge national area. Taylor will have her own drawing for an Amazon gift card for anyone who enters using her link.

Former director (and current DIQ) MaryLei Applegate also chased after this prize. Here are her thoughts on missing a Mary Kay goal back in 2022. Sadly, no one updated us with any winners for this challenge.

Chelsea Adkins headed up a new version of a classic Mary Kay skit. Aren’t you glad you spent you gave up a weekend with your family and spent your own money to room with three other people to be poured into like this? Watch “The Butt Skitt”:

The day ended with another slumber party and had a Pasta and Pajamas theme. To earn this invite, you had to be a STAR consultant having at least $1800 in wholesale orders. The night was capped by a viewing of The Lizzie Maguire Movie which is set in ROME – the site of the 2027 Top Directors Trip!

Jamie made a cute video of her top four directors – Chelsea Adkins, Megan Coleman, Rachel Ryan, and Taylor McKnight tossing a coin in the area. She hopes to have all four recreate this video in Rome while they are on the trip. (Megan is the last of Jamie’s directors to earn the top trip. She earned the 2023 trip to Madrid but had to cancel last minute due to family obligations. No one earned the trip in 2024, 2025, or 2026.)

Sunday was a shorter day, but began with a worship service led by Jamie herself. (Remember when her man-child husband was going to be a pastor???? He must have taught her!)

One of Jamie’s top consultants this year has been Kelly Green who has tried and failed to become a director three times. She stayed home to attend a rock concert, but never fear. She still has her eyes on a Mary Kay goal – the Queens Court of Personal sales. She just needs to have $45,000 in retail orders this seminar year. According to her chart, she’s got a whopping $8,700 done for this seminar year. (In case you’re wondering, she should have $11,250 done to be on track.)

This is such a serious business. Thank God they can do it with their best friends! (Unless you leave MK. Then you don’t get to be a best friend anymore.)

Jamie needs to earn $100,000 in commissions from her downline each seminar year to keep her national sales director title. With Mary Kay’s constant promotion of MyShop, it’s becoming harder and harder to find new consultants to even listen to the opportunity – or to order new inventory packages. I wonder what the theme will be for next year’s retreat. Will there even be one?

I cringed so hard I think I sprained something. From the fake exclusivity to the indoctrination… er, worship session, this SRS BZNZWMN cosplay has nothing new or useful to offer.
A worship session led by a Kaybot????? Ugh. What do they pray for? Oh never mind, don’t tell me.
That was so cringe. If you’re of the Christian persuasion… I don’t know what they’re praying FOR, but it’s apparent who they’re truly praying TO, whether they realize it or not, and it ain’t our Heavenly Father…
What are the odds she actually gave away Kate Spade purses? BTW, I have a KS outlet 30 minutes away, and I can get that bag for like, $60…
Do we actually believe JT’s numbers on the purse giveaway? No. Not for a second.
When will these Kaybots realize it’s Pay to Play, no one is your bestie, and everyone will stab you in the back to further their cause??
I’m of the lifelong atheist persuasion and I recognize a prayer to Mammon!
EXACTLY!!!
Yeah, when I think of powerful, professional women gathering for a business conference, I picture a pajama party.
Don’t you?
I’m sure the first female Prezzy will have jammy parties with her Veepie and Cabbies every night!!!
Just typing that gave me douche chills in my soul :p
…”her top four directors – Chelsea Adkins, Megan Coleman, Rachel Ryan, and Taylor McKnight”
Still not NSD and never will be.
And those eye masks look like feminine hygiene products.
What in the junior high hell is this nonsense? A weekend at home in bed with the flu looks more enjoyable.
My old area was doing the Butt skit back in the 1900s! Is there a playbook for retreats NSDs just pass around?!
I’m sure there is! Scripts and skits have not changed in decades.
Back during my retail hell days, the store at least served a Christmas lunch to the employees the first few years. The last year they did it, the restaurant manager (the store had a restaurant in it; yes, it was Boscov’s) was given a miserly budget of a little over $1 per person. The end result was 3 kinds of pasta, one with premade meatballs cut in quarters, plain iceberg lettuce, and no name potato chips. No shade to the restaurant manager, who did well to make any kind of a meal on that budget. Tons of shade on Al Boscov’s inept nephew Ken Lakin who was so goddamn cheap and stupid he nearly tanked the whole chain until Al came out of retirement and took it back over.
Lots and lots and lots of shade on Jay-Tay, who’s too damn cheap to even provide her “besties” with the standard rubbery grilled chicken to put in the salad.
Another pay to play. If you don’t order *this much* then you can’t come.
This is so awful. Wasting a weekend for this nonsense and likely most of them will NOT be around next year..if there is a next year.
Jamie did post an instragram live y’day to update on the purse giveaway.
Supposedly, they had 1600 people submit the google form. 1000 people were interested in booking a facial. 50 people wanted to start a MK Business and 400 indicated they need to talk to their consultant before they start their business
Gosh, that’s a whopping 3.125% success rate! People are falling all over themselves for this flopportunity!
This whole thing just does NOT look like any fun whatsoever. Maybe I’m old (well yes I AM old) but I think I would be bored out of my wits. The high point was watching a 23 year old movie made for tweens? If I was going to have a Rome-themed movie my first choice would be Roman Holiday with Aubrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck, but what do I know. I enjoyed it when I was younger, but whatevs.
I was in Rome four years ago. It was 120F at the Colosseum. There were thousands (no lie) of tourists lined up at the Vatican. Pick-pockets and scammers abounded.
I was in Rome with mu mum in May 1981. Just after the then pope, Jean-Paul II was shoot. But yeah, hot, tourists and pick-pockets. Spent a week in Sorrento, no pick-pockets because there were Mafioso types making sure their money-laundering cash-cows weren’t inconvenienced.
Yup. The mob did shady stuff but they made sure their customers were happy. A mob run business would treat you well if you were willing to look the other way.
Bedazzled coffee sleeves…that you probably throw away immediately after use? Mkay…
