Jamie Taylor held her annual Fall Retreat the first weekend of October. This year’s retreat had a hard rock theme and was called “No Limits.” On her way to the event, future million dollar director Chelsea Adkins shared that there would be approximately 100 people at the event.

The event planner was Taylor Bero. Taylor took time away from her alleged side hustle “Virtual Bestie” to coordinate this lavish party.

The weekend began with a Friday night slumber party for Jamie’s directors driving a Mary Kay car. While directors talked strategy, Jamie practiced her entrance.

Attendees could make their own bedazzled coffee cup sleeve at this event. They also received a sleep mask that said Never Stop Dreaming.

Day one began with the quality training only a Mary Kay nsd can provide. Former Cadillac driver Carrie Cardwell shared a glimpse of her notes during one of the classes. To achieve success in Mary Kay – you need three things:

  • 30 new faces a month (also known as a Power Start)
  • 10 intentional conversations about the opportunity
  • $500 in sales a week

Seeing that Carrie recently failed at her own Power Start, she has a lot of work ahead.

Jamie also issued a challenge. She offered Kate Spade bags to the first two attendees who could get 20 women to watch a recruiting video and fill out a survey. And Jamie is so kind – she offered this prize to anyone in the verge national area. Taylor will have her own drawing for an Amazon gift card for anyone who enters using her link.

Former director (and current DIQ) MaryLei Applegate also chased after this prize. Here are her thoughts on missing a Mary Kay goal back in 2022. Sadly, no one updated us with any winners for this challenge.

Chelsea Adkins headed up a new version of a classic Mary Kay skit. Aren’t you glad you spent you gave up a weekend with your family and spent your own money to room with three other people to be poured into like this? Watch “The Butt Skitt”:

The day ended with another slumber party and had a Pasta and Pajamas theme. To earn this invite, you had to be a STAR consultant having at least $1800 in wholesale orders. The night was capped by a viewing of The Lizzie Maguire Movie which is set in ROME – the site of the 2027 Top Directors Trip!

Jamie made a cute video of her top four directors – Chelsea Adkins, Megan Coleman, Rachel Ryan, and Taylor McKnight tossing a coin in the area. She hopes to have all four recreate this video in Rome while they are on the trip. (Megan is the last of Jamie’s directors to earn the top trip. She earned the 2023 trip to Madrid but had to cancel last minute due to family obligations. No one earned the trip in 2024, 2025, or 2026.)

Sunday was a shorter day, but began with a worship service led by Jamie herself. (Remember when her man-child husband was going to be a pastor???? He must have taught her!)

One of Jamie’s top consultants this year has been Kelly Green who has tried and failed to become a director three times. She stayed home to attend a rock concert, but never fear. She still has her eyes on a Mary Kay goal – the Queens Court of Personal sales. She just needs to have $45,000 in retail orders this seminar year. According to her chart, she’s got a whopping $8,700 done for this seminar year. (In case you’re wondering, she should have $11,250 done to be on track.)

This is such a serious business. Thank God they can do it with their best friends! (Unless you leave MK. Then you don’t get to be a best friend anymore.)

Jamie needs to earn $100,000 in commissions from her downline each seminar year to keep her national sales director title. With Mary Kay’s constant promotion of MyShop, it’s becoming harder and harder to find new consultants to even listen to the opportunity – or to order new inventory packages. I wonder what the theme will be for next year’s retreat. Will there even be one?

  1. I cringed so hard I think I sprained something. From the fake exclusivity to the indoctrination… er, worship session, this SRS BZNZWMN cosplay has nothing new or useful to offer.
