The Mary Kay Beauty Coat
Written by Parsons Green
Mary Kay consultants have the opportunity to buy a fabulous polyester Beauty Coat for only $56.
The coat can give the impression that the consultant is qualified to give customers an elevated spa like experience! Cadillac Purchaser Rachel Ryan recently shared her experience wearing the Beauty Coat for three days.
On Tuesday, she received multiple compliments and two orders.

Wednesday brought two more orders and an appointment with a fresh face!

By Thursday, she had been approached by so many women about Mary Kay that she lost count! She then committed to wearing the coat every day for a month. Unfortunately, she never shared details of what she accomplished in that month.

Who is Rachel Ryan in the MK world? Well… Rachel has been reselling Mary Kay for over 8 years. She has one offspring director – Cheyenne Husak. Cheyenne once drove a Cadillac. She also lost her unit and had to go through DIQ all over again to become a director for the second time. (This is nothing new in MK. Units are lost quickly, the leaders blame themselves, and start running faster on the hamster wheel to earn the title back.)
Rachel has been focused on helping Kelly Green debut as a director. Kelly has failed DIQ three times. On the bright side, she was Rachel’s #1 consultant in ordering (they call it sales LOL) and recruiting for the Confetti Unit for this seminar year.

Rachel once had a lofty goal to recruit 100 consultants in a seminar year. I wonder how many Beauty Coats are in the Confetti Unit?
Rachel and her Confetti Unit are committed to finishing a $650,000 this year to earn the top director’s trip to Rome! She will also need to requalify for the Cadillac. That beauty coat will certainly get a workout over the next few weeks. I wonder when the last time she had it dry cleaned?

My beauty coat was pale pink, a color I look awful in. But it matched my 2 pink beauty cases I lugged to all my shows. Yes, I’m that old lol!
YES! I had that pink beauty coat with the pink faux alligator cases to haul all over, too. That coat held heat like crazy, and I generally had to wear a sleeveless or short-sleeved blouse under it.
“Our” roads lead to Rome? Is the entire unit coming with you? That’s not how this works.
Good catch!
MY road leads to Rome. You girls just pave the road.
..and PAY for the road.
Stylist’s jackets are available for less than $20 on Amazon.
This is just a more expensive version of “wear your nametag upside down so people will ask you about it.”
So much pretending! Reminds me of D. Gary Young, who pretended to be a doctor (photos in med coat with his name on it, the D. giving the impression he is a doc) while peddling essential oils to ostensibly cure all manner of health maladies. He pleaded guilty.
These are great examples of just how far some MLMers will go to “fake it ’til you make it”.
The Ash/Hallenbeck/Rogerses are horrible, but they can’t hold a candle to the Youngs. Gary killed his wife’s baby and she let him do it!
You couldn’t pay me to believe that she threw it on that first time because she didn’t have any other outer garment available. Well, you could, but the amount would have to have at least one comma in it.

Like most people, Rachel’s daily routine probably puts her in contact with the same people all the time. Dealing with the same people at the school, going to the same stores and restaurants, same people at church. It wouldn’t take long to enclothe everyone’s cognition in the notion that this is nothing but a sad attention grab and the proper response is avoid and ignore.
Ugh. The beauty coat. Crazy expensive, and it’s that fabric that’s always the wrong temperature. Holds heat in summer and lets in the cold in winter. Plus, it was one of those “one-size-fits-no one” garments.
The only two positives–the pockets were amazing! And it was machine washable. It was one of the first things I got rid of when I quit.
Why is everything these ladies do so stupid?
I am all for an outfit that instills confidence, but I can assure you, it won’t be made of polyester.
On another note, Kelly’s online presence has reduced dramatically and her recent posts contain minimal MK pedaling. Perhaps she decided it was time to pivot?
“Kelly’s online presence has reduced dramatically”
I noticed that, too. Little, if any, mention of MK. She’s heavily into pageants.
I have Opinions about pageants (please, contain your astonishment :P) but even I have to admit it’s better than Mary Kay. At least there are actual prizes to be won and the entry fees are cheaper than buying production.
I would just assume that she’s at a hair appointment and dashed out to feed the meter or run an errand. Ask me why I say that…BTDT
Same. This is like running an errand in slippers and a housecoat.
Do you know me???? lol
Not the slippers, but definitely been known to be out and about wearing a tank top, fleece PJ bottoms, and recovery slides at Safeway. It would be super awkward if I was the only one in the store dressed like that but there you have it.
No shame! I’ve gone shopping in my slippers a few times. But I know they’re house slippers and not a sooper speshul fairy princess magic clothing item or whatever Rachel thinks her jacket is.
I have a question. Is a beauty coat necessary now when Mary Kay corporation is going affiliate?
What I see: you got 2 $20 orders for looking like an idiot for 3 days. You are still in the red because not only is your jacket still NOT paid for, but you have the credit card interest and pink caddy to pay for too. Heaven forbid if you are paying for you living expenses too!!!
