Chelsea is Still Not Close to a Million

Back in December, our friend Chelsea Adkins (never a million dollar director) went to the Million Dollar Reunion. This is an event sponsored by Mary Kay Inc. The story is that all the previous million dollar directors get together to celebrate each other. The real deal is that directors who might have a chance of someday “doing a million” are invited to hype them up. As with most MK events, the goal is to give these directors FOMO and/or shame, both of which are intense motivators.

The event got Chelsea really excited. She is nowhere close to a million. (By the way, this is NOT “selling” a million. This is a unit ordering $400k to $500k wholesale value of products. Most sits in basements, garages, and closets. A very small percentage is sold. The scam is calling this “sales” and making people think this is a real sales business.)

Every year, Chelsea threatens that THIS will be the year that her unit does a million. After all, God put it on her heart!!!! If you want to be reminded of how many times she has named and claimed it and then failed, you can read this article.

It’s interesting to see the list of previous million dollar directors. Less than 50. Okay, so it’s really an elite group! But let’s think about this. In 1999 when I was in, a million dollars in sales was a lot and almost no one got there. But with inflation, $1 million in 1999 is worth almost $2 million today. (i.e. Based on the value of money over time, it should only be about half as much work today to get to $1 million.) So a million dollars should be easy to hit today, don’t you think? The company uses the same metrics they used decades ago, and pretends this is all a big deal. What it really shows is how badly the company and the business model are failing.

Back to Chelsea and the goals she never fails to miss… THIS seminar year is the year it’s finally happening! God has called Chelsea to it. LOL

  1. “I was reminded what God called me to”. God called you to scam enough women so they order $500,000 worth of product, but you call it a million?
    Weird.

  2. What the hell kind of pastor uses expressions like “a roomful of people better than you”?!

According to the Good Book, weren’t we all made in the image of god, his perfect creation?

How are we defining “better,” anyway? More money? A certain set of looks? Putting a certain amount in the collection basket each week?

During my early life I was constantly compared to others that the adults around me wished I was and found wanting. It tanked my self esteem in ways I still haven’t recovered from completely.

Hearing that bull💩 from a clergy person, who’s supposed to give one guidance and support, is Hulking me out.

I get that the pastor may never have said that and that statement is pure Chelsea. In which case the question is, “why do you think you’re less than a bunch of scammers who swindled tons of unsuspecting people more successfully than you?”

    • I had the same ewwww reaction to that! I wonder if the pastor actually said something like “people you admire” or “people you strive to emulate” or something similar because that would make sense. But if the pastor did indeed say “better than you”…gross.

  3. Company sponsored? My guess is this has all the look and feel of a timeshare pitch.

And I guess NSDs don’t qualify? I don’t see any of the big names on that list (Gloria Mayfield Banks anyone?), and isn’t that Jamie Taylor in the last photo? She’s not on the list either…another aspirant, or are NSDs the celebrity guests?

    • Did GMB do a million as a director? Genuine question, because as a national, your unit’s “million” isn’t recognized. It was one of the points that Linda Toupin regularly griped about.

I’m not sure what the qualification was for that list, but it’s not exhaustive. I know of several million dollar directors who are still directors and aren’t on that list. Maybe that’s who came to the event?

        • Gotcha. It’s still not all inclusive, though. I just searched my former 2nd line senior, who did million a few times, and she’s still showing active on the website as a director, but she’s not on this list.

          • “she’s not on this list.”

To me, it appears the pic/list above only relates to those associated with the M$ Nemacolin Reunion. (So, not every M$ Director in the Company is shown.)

But, hey, what do I know? LOL

Of course, the non-M$ Directors (like Chelsea) had to receive a “special invitation.” Gotta keep ’em excited so they don’t quit, right?

Note she thanks NSDs Kim, Auri and Kristin for “hosting the event.”

          • I also don’t have good facts about this thing other than I understood retired people weren’t on the list. 🙂

  4. ROFL … look at the “In ONE Word” easels and see how good they are at following directions. Count the two-word phrases.

I see a few NSD daughters who were “lucky” enough to make the list. And how many of these “Million Dollar Directors” BOUGHT their way to that list? Who are they fooling?

  6. Am I the only person who, every time Chelsea uses “Crowning Million”, pictures childbirth? Yes? Okay, then.

  7. “What the hell kind of pastor uses expressions like ‘a roomful of people better than you’”

    I think it’s akin to:
“Always surround yourself with people who are even more talented and competent than you.” — Stephen Covey

Chelsea seems to like False Teacher/Pastor Steven Furtick, who pushes the prosperity gospel, worldly success, positive thinking, “believing big”, and self-empowerment. His sermons and services rely on emotion and entertainment.

    Sound familiar?

  8. I wonder if they had to pay for this swanky hotel. I mean, I’m certain they had to, just like Seminar. But what a way to ruin the experience, by having a Mary Kay rah-rah event, rather than just enjoying themselves.
It was interesting to see a certain director on this list who still hasn’t made national, despite my former director calling her “your future national” for years.

    • Yes they had to pay. All Mary Kay events, whether put on by corporate or a director, require you to pay all of your travel expenses. The only exceptions are: top director trip, nsd trip, certain things on an individual basis (ex. a “top” director is invited to corporate to film some videos).

  9. If I am correct, that “Million-Dollar Reunion” at Nemacolin is not a MKC event. It appears to be sponsored by a certain handful of NSDs (the same group who held the “NSD Summit” in Forida.) That’s why some NSDs are missing: they’re not part of that particular NSD girlfriend club.

If you look at recent and past pics from the Reunion – and from the NSD Summit – you’ll see the same faces.

I believe Nemacolin is consistently chosen for the MDR because NSD Kim McClure is in the western Pennsylvania/Pittsburgh area. She may have a part in arrangements.

Again, all guesses on my part.

  10. Chelsea is so beautiful and I am sure she can be a good salesperson. I wish she could see the futility of this endeavor and take a different path.

    • Never. She will stay with this company until the wheels fall off. Corporate has her extra brainwashed by featuring her in these videos and such.

    • She can’t quit. According to Chelsea herself, she has been “called” to this. She must be obedient to God. Plus, she claims to be “needed”…by Corporate, and by “…other young women and women of color to show them what’s possible.”

      She’s really important.
