Dacia’s Retirement From Mary Kay

Written by Parsons Green

Mary Kay national sales director Dacia Wiegandt is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but you have to give her credit for reading the tea leaves correctly. Mary Kay Inc. is in a slow downward spiral, and the incomes of the pyramid toppers are dropping dramatically. There are half as many nsds as there were in 2014. The income of the nsds has dropped dramatically, with 64% of them making less than $10,000 per month.

The retirement plan offered to nsds by Mary Kay pays out based on the last 5 years of commissions earned. With incomes dropping, the retirement payout will drop too. Last month, Dacia didn’t even make $15k in commissions, and she’s used to bringing in much more than that. She is making the right choice to quit Mary Kay before her numbers drop even further.

Dacia  joined Mary Kay in July 2001 when she was 21 years old and became a sales director in February 2002. She became a national sales director in November 2005 and was the youngest woman to ever achieve that title at age 27.

Twenty years later, Dacia has announced her retirement from Mary Kay Inc., effective January 2026.

Dacia has been a topic of conversation since the start of Pink Truth in 2006. She was a “do it fast” director who got to national sales director quickly with a churn and burn strategy. Bring in a recruit, coach her to move up to red jacket and then director fast, and if she doesn’t want to or can’t finish, then move onto the next recruit quickly. The secret to getting to nsd is getting women in and out of the process fast and at a high volume, and Dacia was one of the first to do it so swiftly.

Our friend Dacia has been featured on the front page of Pink Truth several times as someone who knows how to run the Mary Kay scam well, and who is also very entitled, with an influencer mentality.

Dacia sent this message to her team in 2007. She implored her team that God needed them to order and would hold them accountable at Seminar.

She appeared at Gillian Ortega’s 2009 Fall Advance and invoked God’s name as she was talking about her quest to become a national. Dacia suggested to the crowd that they leave an item out of a customer’s order. This gives you an opportunity to meet the customer for a second chance to offer the Mary Kay opportunity. Dacia posted the video on her Facebook. Scribbler then shared the video on the Facebook pages of ten nsds to see if they agreed with Dacia’s teaching. Eight of the nsds and Dacia blocked Scribbler, so I guess that tells us how they feel about lying to customers.

Dacia is featured in this post discussing how to get your recruits to order inventory. Even more important, Dacia loved to make false earning claims to recruits. In this post from 2018, she suggests that part time consultants make between $5,000 to $10,000 a year. She claims average sales directors make between $1,500 to $20,000 a month, with nsds averaging $10,000 to $100,000 a month.

Mary Kay never has tracked retail sales to customers, so these numbers are completely fabricated by Dacia.

The former elementary school teacher (yes, Dacia) shared her thoughts on Selling Sunset. “Realistate!!!!” Dacia was caught using NARS cosmetics on Instagram. So much for Mary Kay loyalty!

And in 2019, Dacia had to check her “Louis Vuitton” bag at the airport because there was no room in the overhead bins on her flight. The bag was stolen from  baggage claim. She claimed the bag and its contents were worth $9,200 and demanded reimbursement from Delta, using her influencer power to put pressure on the company.

Let’s talk about the Berry Farm. The Burr family started Burr’s Berry Farm in 1965 and in 2013 they rented it to Dacia and her husband. In 2020 the relationship with the Burr family fell apart and Dacia and Karl Wiegandt went and bought their own farm.

That didn’t stop the Wiegandts from making the false claim that their farm had been in operation since 1965, a lie that Dacia continues to tell to this day, even in her retirement announcement. When Dacia was called out by multiple people for falsely using the Burr family story as her own, she claimed that she was referring to the date her grandfather started farming. The Burr family set the record straight:

In 2020, Dacia was featured on our front page for her side hustles. She was posting product collaborations on her Instagram with a wide variety of products including tea, protein shakes, and Clorox Wipes. She began including likes to her LTK site which earned her commissions on products she shared with her followers.

Dacia very publicly gave up her pink Cadillac in 2020 to drive a Lincoln. Did she not want people to see she was associated with Mary Kay?

In 2022, Dacia bragged that she has earned millions in Mary Kay. In 2024, she claimed she needs to only work 20 hours a week as national sales director.

She bragged about taking her daughter and her friends on a Sephora trip. More brand loyalty, I see.

Since Dacia has been a national sales director for more than 15 years, she can  take a full retirement from Mary Kay even though she is not 65. She will receive 60% of her average annual commissions as a monthly payment for the next 15 years. Mary Kay will average the best three years out of the last five years of earnings to determine her retirement payout.

Dacia has been distancing herself from Mary Kay for several years now. What exciting opportunity will she sign up for next?

  1. When I was binge-reading the archives, I really enjoyed Scribbler’s posts. I hope she’s doing well.

Meanwhile, Dacia, her Naughty Glinda dress, her bloated conspicuous consumption vehicle, her stolen farm cred (band name!), and her manipulative lies and bullcrap can go get stuffed.

I mean, if she really cared about period poverty, she could have bought out the feminine care aisle several times over instead of a $100K+ vehicle.

  2. Dacia suggested to the crowd that they leave an item out of a customer’s order. This gives you an opportunity to meet the customer for a second chance to offer the Mary Kay opportunity.

How does this prove your professionalism? If (general) you are not capable of prepared to order one out of three or four items, I’m doing more than side-eying you.

  3. Methinks Dacia will delve further into the influencer wannabe world. I wouldn’t be surprised if some cosmetics company offers her a deal, but it won’t be a high-end brand like NARS.

  4. I always wondered how she’d stick around for 40 years until 65. Makes sense that she’d jump off early. I can’t believe she got away with so much other side gig stuff.
